Chapter 14: Tian Wu Ling
Inside the Phoenix Tree Tower.
Ji Juexiu and Chi Xian had already reached the top floor.
Looking at the rows of bookshelves before them, all identical as if copied and pasted, each reinforced with an incredibly complex Formation.
Chi Xian was already numb, his face ashen as he asked, “Do you remember which shelf the rare book is on?”
He certainly didn’t remember.
Ji Juexiu’s answer was even more despairing.
He said, “I forgot.”
Chi Xian immediately clutched his head and wailed, “Oh my heavens! My blood! My precious blood!”
He didn’t understand Formations, having neglected to study them properly as a child.
Ji Juexiu only had a basic understanding, his main focus being combat.
The Sparrow Clan was renowned for its profound heritage, with Formations passed down from ancient times and continuously updated.
Forget about solving it normally; like the Formation at the entrance, it could only be broken with pure Phoenix Blood, ensuring that rare texts would not be seen by outsiders.
And the Child of Two Gods seemed born to unravel these Formations.
Chi Xian wished he could die just thinking about it.
At that moment.
Suddenly, a fierce wind swept through!
Accompanied by a loud roar, “Who dares impersonate me and trespass into my clan’s forbidden grounds!”
Before even seeing the person, they could only feel the gale-force winds as Flame Feathers shot toward them at incredible speed.
Chi Xian was terrified, darting around frantically while shouting, “Save me, my lord!”
But the Flame Feathers rained down in a relentless barrage, surrounding them and closing in with overwhelming force, leaving no room to escape.
The one who arrived was none other than Chi Yan, whose fury could only be expressed by killing the two intruders.
As countless fiery feathers closed in, Ji Juexiu merely raised his eyes and lightly flicked his sleeve.
The next second.
Boom!
The thousands of Flame Feathers were either shattered, turned to dust, or broken into pieces and scattered back.
Chi Yan was stunned, completely unprepared for this, and was injured by the reflected debris before he could dodge.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Blood sprayed, splattering onto the Formations of the surrounding bookshelves.
Instantly, a dazzling array of lights erupted, one after another, as the Ancient Magic Formations were broken in a chain reaction.
“Huh?” Chi Xian was momentarily stunned, then overjoyed, darting off to search through the shelves.
Ji Juexiu stood in place, calmly watching Chi Yan, who was now sprawled on the ground.
Chi Yan, who had been so radiant outside, was now too injured to fly, his once magnificent robes torn into tatters.
In his rage, he finally got a clear look at the two before him.
“Chi Xian! It’s you!” he roared.
Chi Xian ignored him completely, rummaging through the shelves before excitedly pulling out two rare books and running back.
“Found them!” Chi Xian shoved them into Ji Juexiu’s hands, urging, “Quick, look! We’re already exposed, so let’s read them first!”
Chi Yan roared again, “Chi Xian! You useless traitor!”
Chi Xian rolled his eyes, “Yes, yes, I’m useless, I’m a traitor. You’re noble, you’re amazing, you’re the one lying on the ground unable to get up.”
Chi Yan’s face turned red with anger. He tried to rise and kill Chi Xian, but to his horror, he found himself weighed down as if by a thousand pounds, something pressing him down.
Yet there was nothing around him.
In his shock, Chi Yan looked at Ji Juexiu.
Alarm bells rang in his mind, his gaze filled with wariness and astonishment.
Who is this man?
It must be known that Young Master Chi Yan was the Young Master of the Sparrow Clan, with both parents being great phoenixes of the clan, and his combat prowess was among the best of the younger generation.
Not only the phoenixes of this generation, but even some elders from the previous generation could not defeat him.
Yet, this man in white defeated him with just one move!
Moreover, he used some method to control his movements, forcing him to lie here in humiliation…
Seeing this, Chi Yan’s dozen or so attendants immediately rushed out to call for reinforcements.
A major incident had occurred!
The Young Master had been beaten!
The Phoenix Tree Tower resonated with the cry of a phoenix, loud and clear, echoing throughout the Sparrow Clan’s territory.
Figures soared into the sky, rapidly approaching from the distance.
Outside, chaos reigned as if a great battle was imminent.
Inside the Phoenix Tree Tower.
Chi Yan remained lying on the ground, his heart in torment.
Chi Xian, standing nearby, taunted him relentlessly, making Chi Yan’s life a living hell.
Meanwhile, Ji Juexiu seemed oblivious, quietly flipping through a book, already reaching the last few pages of the rare volume.
Finally.
A white-haired old man strode in.
This man was none other than the clan leader of the Sparrow Clan, Chi Zheng.
Behind Chi Zheng followed several elders of the Sparrow Clan, and further back, a large number of clan members, including Chi Yan’s attendants who had gone to report the incident and the guards of the Phoenix Tree Tower.
Seeing his clansmen arrive, Chi Yan immediately spoke up: “Clan Leader! Elders! It was him who injured me! And Chi Xian, this traitor, actually brought outsiders into our clan’s forbidden grounds!”
Several elders stepped forward, positioning themselves at various points, ready to engage in battle.
Chi Xian took a step back.
Chi Yan’s lips curled into a smile: “Now you’re scared? Where’s that arrogance from when you were insulting me?”
Chi Xian remained silent, just lowering his head.
Chi Yan shouted: “Clan Leader, Elders! Why aren’t you killing these two?”
The elders did not act immediately, instead looking towards the center, sensing something unusual.
Amidst such chaos, the man in white seemed to neither hear nor see, continuing to flip through the book as if nothing was happening.
What was his background?
After surveying the scene, Clan Leader Chi Zheng’s gaze fell upon Ji Juexiu. He was momentarily stunned, then gestured to the others.
Immediately, the elders stepped back, no longer forming an encirclement.
Chi Yan shouted in disbelief: “Clan Leader?!”
Chi Zheng ignored Chi Yan, stepping forward to bow to Ji Juexiu, but hesitated to speak.
For he saw that Ji Juexiu had not looked up, as if frozen, staring at the last page of the rare volume.
Curious about what was written in the volume, Chi Xian leaned forward and saw three words.
【Tian Wu Ling】
The last page of the rare volume contained only these three words.
These three words seemed to possess some terrifying energy; just a glance made Chi Xian feel as if his eyes were being burned.
He quickly averted his gaze, but tears continued to flow uncontrollably.
Chi Yan, unaware of what was happening, saw Chi Xian crying.
He immediately cursed: “You traitor! Now you’re playing the victim? What are you crying for? Do crying birds get candy?”
Chi Xian was utterly speechless, wanting to explain but unable to. He was indeed shedding tears.
But crying?
He wasn’t crying, damn it!
Amidst the commotion, Ji Juexiu snapped out of his trance, closed the rare volume, and looked up at Chi Zheng standing in the center of the crowd.
Chi Zheng smiled and spoke: “Divine Venerable, it has been a thousand years. I trust you have been well.”
Chi Yan was instantly dumbfounded, a wave of fear surging to the top of his head in an instant.
What on earth?
A Divine Venerable???
The other members of the Sparrow Clan were also startled, and murmurs of discussion rose and fell.
“A Divine Venerable? Which Divine Venerable?”
“A Divine Venerable this young must be that one…”
“Which one exactly?!”
“This is serious, a big shot has arrived in the Sparrow Clan.”
“I’ve been in seclusion for five thousand years, can you stop speaking in riddles? Aren’t the current Divine Venerables from that group?”
“Let’s talk about it later, they can hear us!”
“Oh, right…”
