Binding to the System!
In a panic, a voice suddenly sounded in Cheng An’s mind: [Ding–Welcome. Binding to the infrastructure system, I am system 457, dedicated to serving you. It is detected that the host has survived alone for seven days, and the novice gift package has been unlocked. It has been distributed to the backpack. Please check it. ]
Cheng An had no intention of listening to what the system said, and shouted in his heart: “Why didn’t you come earlier! You don’t notice what the situation is now, I’m going to die! Quick, quick, quick! Help me! Otherwise, we’re both finished!”
The cold mechanical voice did not move.
Cheng An was a little desperate. What’s the point of binding this broken system? Pah!
Is his life going to end here? Cheng An was discouraged.
The mechanical voice sounded in his mind again, “The novice gift package has been distributed to the host’s backpack. Does the host want to open it?”
Cheng An hurriedly replied in his mind: “Open, open, open!” This system is unreliable, and he can only try his luck.
[Ding——The novice gift pack has been opened. Congratulations to the host for obtaining a lucky buff blessing card, limited to 24 hours. Congratulations to the host for obtaining a low-level medical card. Congratulations to the host for obtaining a lottery ticket, and congratulations to the host for obtaining a seed gift pack. May I ask if the host wants to use the lucky buff blessing card? ]
“Use it!” Cheng An was overjoyed. With this lucky buff blessing, his hope of survival will be greater, right? It will definitely be!
[Ding——The 24-hour limited lucky buff has been used, and 23 hours and 59 seconds are left. ]
Cheng An only felt a flash of white light, and the rest——nothing happened.
What a broken system! It’s really a pitfall! Could your buff card be a fake? ! System? ! 437? 457? Cheng An cursed in his heart, but this time no matter how much he called the system, it ignored Cheng An.
The system pretended to be dead, so Cheng An had to rely on himself. He poked his head out of the animal skin and tried to roll over to avoid the deer’s hooves.
Shitou yawned, “The wolf beastmen are gone, let’s go back quickly. It’s no good for the two of us to face the crazy giant deer, and the snow mountain is about to turn over. There is such a big commotion here, if we don’t go back, Grandma Cao will be worried.” With that, Shitou stood up, shook his tail and walked back.
Before turning around, Yu suddenly noticed and looked at the feet of the giant deer. A small thing wrapped in pig skin was consciously rolling to avoid the giant deer’s hooves. Yu looked closely and found that it was a little wolf cub.
How could there be a little wolf cub in this place? Yu’s mind stagnated. Where did the wolf beastmen just pass by? This little wolf cub might have been left behind!
Yu focused his attention on the position of the little wolf cub, and swooped into the herd of giant deer. The giant deer became more panicked because of Yu’s actions, and several giant deer were tripped by his footsteps.
Shitou found that Yu did not keep up with him. He looked back and saw that Yu had actually rushed into the herd of giant deer. His whole tail was blown up! “Awo!” Yu! Are you crazy?
Yu heard Shitou’s roar, but did not change his actions. He quickly found the position of the little wolf cub, picked him up and climbed up the hillside again. Yu was agile. Even though the herd of giant deer became more chaotic because of him, he was not injured. Instead, he successfully rescued Cheng An.
At that time, Cheng An was busy dodging deer hooves. Before he could react to why the deer hooves suddenly became difficult to dodge, he was picked up by Yu.
“!” Even if he avoided the deer hooves, would he be eaten by other wild animals? He is not delicious! He was born only a few days ago, and there is not much meat. He was not enough for this big beast to fill its teeth! Why bite him, go bite those deer!
Shitou was not the only one whose fur was standing on end. Cheng An’s fur was all standing on end as well.
However, the expected pain did not come. Cheng An calmed down a little. Could it be that the lucky buff he had just used was effective? It seems that this system is not completely useless.
Shitou’s heart was not at ease until Yu safely came out from under the giant deer’s hoof with Cheng An in his mouth. However, Shitou was still worried that Yu would be injured. He circled around him for a few times and was completely relieved after confirming that Yu was indeed fine.
“You scared me to death! Why did you suddenly run down there? It’s very dangerous, Chief. If something happens to you, what will happen to our tribe?” Shitou was still in shock.
Yu put Cheng An down in his mouth, “Don’t worry, I know what to do.”
“Hm? A cub? You didn’t go down there just for him, did you?” Shitou stretched out his front paws and scratched Cheng An.
Cheng An had just been carried by Yu and was still dizzy. Now, he fainted after being pushed by Shitou.
Shitou: “!” He didn’t do anything!
Yu said calmly: “Maybe I ran too fast just now and the kid fainted. It’s too cold here, let’s go back first.”
Shitou nodded, “Let’s go.”
Yu lowered his head and held Cheng An again, bringing him back to the tribe.
When Cheng An woke up again, he had already walked from the snow to a warm cave. He opened his eyes and looked around. He found that there was a fire in the cave, and several animal skins were hanging on the stone wall.
He was rescued?
No, that’s not right. He was obviously taken away by a wild beast before he fainted. Now that he appeared in the cave, it means that it was not a wild beast, but a passing beastman who saved him!
“He woke up!” Grandma Cao saw that Cheng An woke up and shared it with Yu happily. “Chief, the cub is awake!”
“Mm.” Yu indicated that he understood, and squatted down to touch Cheng An.
After Yu turned into a human, he looked like a teenager. Although his figure was slender, he was strong and lean. He was wearing animal skins, which showed a kind of rough beauty.
After Cheng An saw Yu’s face clearly, he felt that he should be walking on the catwalk. This is definitely a beautiful boy!
The impact of this face was too great. Cheng An felt that the stars he had seen before were completely inferior to the man in front of him. Especially the pair of green pupils, which were enchanting and beautiful, and captured his heart and soul!
If Cheng An could speak at this time, he might really scream, but no matter how hard he tried, he could only make some whimpering sounds.
There was no other way. Cheng An could only shout in his mind to vent his excitement. “System System! Did you see that? I was saved by a super handsome guy! I take back what I said before that your lucky buff is useless. Now it seems to be very useful.”
The system said nothing, and it was unknown whether it heard Cheng An’s thoughts. But Cheng An didn’t care. It had only been a short time since he was bound to this system, and Cheng An had almost figured out the temper of this system. That is, it never said useless nonsense, and never chatted with him.
Alas, he really lost a lot of fun this way.
System: “…”
The animal skin that fell with Cheng An had gone missing, but there was a fire in the cave, so it was not cold. Cheng An did not care much about the tattered animal skin.
Compared to the animal skin, he was now facing a more serious problem, that is – he was hungry.
Cheng An tried to make some sounds to attract Yu’s attention. He could not speak yet, so he could only try to raise his paws to press his belly and hum, indicating that he was hungry.
Yu was a little confused and asked Grandma Cao: “What’s wrong with him? Cold? Or is his stomach uncomfortable?” Yu’s big hands with distinct joints pressed Cheng An’s belly and rubbed it gently for him, “Will this make it better?”
Hmph, what a fart! Cheng An’s already empty stomach was even more uncomfortable after being pressed by Yu, and he didn’t realize that he was hungry. Cheng An couldn’t hold back his emotions and cried out.
Yu was even more at a loss, his hands stopped in mid-air. Seeing Cheng An crying more and more sadly, he had no choice but to bite the bullet and take him out of the nest. “Grandma Cao, what’s wrong with him?”
Grandma Cao is a female sub-beastman. She was originally the apprentice of the priest in the tiger tribe, but was expelled from the tribe because of some things. Later, she was taken in by Yu. Now she serves as a priest in Yu’s tribe, but Grandma Cao doesn’t know much. The original old priest hadn’t taught her much. She is now just a half-baked priest who is forced to do it.
“This…” Grandma Cao looked at Cheng An. This little wolf cub seemed to be able to cry and move, so he should be quite healthy.
Yu’s tribe is composed of various homeless, old, weak, sick and disabled beastmen, as well as some leopard tribesmen. There are a total of 68 tribesmen in this small tribe, and their beast forms are all different. Perhaps because of the poor conditions, their tribe has not had cubs for a long time, and the new members are picked up by people patrolling the territory.
It can be said that their tribe has very little experience in raising cubs.
Yu hugged the crying Cheng An, and belatedly realized the trouble of picking up a cub.
Grandma Cao looked at him for a while, and suddenly said with a heartfelt feeling: “Is this little wolf cub hungry?”
As soon as she said that, Cheng An stopped crying. Someone finally saw through his needs! Great, he doesn’t have to starve to death!
He cried too hard and too sadly just now. Even if he stopped crying, he couldn’t stop burping.
Cheng An felt a little embarrassed. He was not like this before. It must be that he was affected by this body after crossing over, and his thinking and mentality became younger.
Hungry? Yu frowned while thinking, “But what does the wolf cub eat?” Yu’s fingers opened Cheng An’s lips, touched his milk teeth that had not yet grown, and asked Grandma Cao: “Can he eat barbecue?”
Cheng An: “?” He is only seven days old! What barbecue? He might not even be able to eat barbecued meat paste!
Grandma Cao looked at Cheng An, then at Yu who was thinking seriously and said, “I’m afraid he needs to be fed with milk.”
“Milk?” Yu frowned even deeper. Where could he find milk?
For the first time, Yu regretted picking up the wolf cub.
“There are no sub-beastmen with cubs in the tribe.” Yu didn’t know what to do with the cub in his arms.
At this time, the snow mountain had already collapsed, burying the smell left by the wolf beastmen. There was no way to chase after them and hand the wolf cub over to them.
Grandma Cao was also in a dilemma at this time. She had no milk, but she couldn’t watch the cub starve to death. Besides, the fur color of this wolf cub was exactly the same as Yu’s, snow-white. If he stayed, he would be the most suitable priest for their tribe.
Grandma Cao tried to say, “Why not feed him some broth? It should be enough. Anyway, let him eat first and stop crying. It’s no use to keep making such a fuss.”
Yu nodded, “I still have some meat in my cave. Let’s try to cook some broth first.”
Grandma Cao nodded, “Go quickly.”
Cheng An watched Yu busy for a long time, and finally got to drink the broth. Unexpectedly, it tasted pretty good. After drinking half a bowl in one breath, both of them finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Cheng An: Great, I don’t have to starve to death!
Yu: Great, this kid finally stopped making a fuss.
After licking half a bowl of broth, Cheng An lay back with his arms around his stomach, feeling comfortable!
Yu rubbed his bloated stomach and put away the remaining half bowl of broth. Grandma Cao said that cubs are very troublesome creatures and need to be fed several times a day.
