“You’re absolutely right. Just ask our Section Chief Cheng. If anyone dares to cause trouble in the factory, disrupt security, or interfere with production, our Security Department will handle it,” one of the men chimed in, while the other added in agreement. Standing nearby, Ge Bing even winked at Dai Qing.
“Since you’re here, I might as well report something. This guy is really troublesome. He’s been harassing me, won’t take no for an answer, and is seriously affecting my work.”
Seeing an opportunity for some action, Cheng Hao stepped forward.
Upon hearing the words “Section Chief,” Liu Ming’s expression instantly changed. He quickly waved his hands in denial. “Chief Cheng, this is all a misunderstanding. I was just passing by and had a small misunderstanding with Comrade Dai. It’s all cleared up now, so I’ll be on my way.”
Before Dai Qing could even respond, Liu Ming bolted, vanishing in the blink of an eye.
Cheng Hao shook his head. “That cowardly rat still dared to pester you? I bet he’s never seen what you’re truly capable of.”
After all, how could someone who stayed calm while reading a fortune for a street thug—and even managed to collect the fee—be afraid of a factory lowlife like Liu Ming?
“People like him bully the weak but fear the strong. Just be cautious. He might get other ideas,” Cheng Hao warned.
“I know. Thanks for stepping in earlier,” Dai Qing replied, grateful.
Liu Ming was like a rat in a sewer—cowardly but ambitious, always scheming. His whole family was the same.
“Comrade Dai, don’t mention it. We’re practically friends now. If anything comes up, just reach out to our Section Chief Cheng, right brother Hao?” Ge Bing grinned as he nudged Cheng Hao playfully, signaling him to speak up.
Cheng Hao gave Ge Bing a sharp look before nodding. “Bing is right. You’ve helped us out before. If you ever need anything, feel free to come to the Security Department and find me.”
Yan Biao, that petty, vengeful guy, was known for holding grudges. But the Security Department wasn’t one to back down. If word got out that some street thug had intimidated them, Cheng Hao’s reputation would be ruined.
For that reason alone, he was determined to teach Yan Biao a lesson and force him to back off.
Unexpectedly, Dai Qing had resolved the situation, saving him from further conflict. The Security Department owed her a favor.
“In that case, I won’t hesitate to ask for help,” Dai Qing replied. After all, having more friends meant more opportunities, and only a fool would refuse.
Back at her post, neither Liu Ming nor Li Xing showed up for the rest of the day.
On her way home after work, Liu Ming didn’t try to follow her again.
After finishing two shifts, her night shift came next, running from midnight to 8 a.m. For now, she could sleep until her heart’s content.
After washing up, she lay on her bed, recalling how she had taken a closer look at Liu Ming’s face earlier. His “Jianmen” region was sunken, with many wrinkles. Particularly when he smiled, his eyes were full of creases, and a dark aura enveloped the area of his face symbolizing relationships. His eyes were filled with signs of romantic misfortune, and it was clear he would eventually meet his downfall due to this.
A man with such a face wasn’t just lecherous; his bad fortune would also affect any woman who married him. The women in his life would experience constant minor illnesses and, in more severe cases, signs of premature death.
In her previous life, she had been married to Liu Ming for ten years and knew his character well—selfish, cold-hearted, and a textbook example of a hypocrite.
With the way his face looked now, she wouldn’t even need to lift a finger.
The next day, Dai Qing woke up at 11 a.m. While lounging in bed beneath her mosquito net, she heard someone knocking at the door.
“Xiao Qing, Xiao Qing, are you home?”
Recognizing Aunt Wang voice, Dai Qing got up and opened the door, letting her in before going to freshen up.
