Chapter 29.2

Zhu Xinyue’s mind exploded with dazzling fireworks, her heart racing faster, like it was about to jump out of her throat.

His palm was warm, a stark contrast to her own, which had just been dipped in cool water, exceptionally warm, like it was about to ignite her.

Her fingertips tingled as they touched his, and Zhu Xinyue unconsciously curled her fingers, hooking onto his hand.

“… It’s quite good.” Zhu Xinyue bit her lower lip, suppressing the rising corners of her mouth.

Ji Linyu’s eyes sparkled, as if he had discovered something amusing, firmly interlacing his fingers with hers, taking advantage of the situation to intertwine their fingers.

Zhu Xinyue gently took a breath, holding her breath.

Gosh, she was holding hands with Ji Linyu!

Their fingers intertwined!

Ji Linyu held Zhu Xinyue’s hand, leading her to the sofa in the living room, letting her sit down first, then getting up to walk toward the shoe cabinet to find shoes for her to wear outside.

While Ji Linyu’s back was turned, Zhu Xinyue secretly pinched her own face.

Ouch, it hurts. It wasn’t a dream!

When Ji Linyu stood up and looked at the reflection in the glass, he saw Zhu Xinyue’s actions and couldn’t help but chuckle.

Clumsy, yet strangely adorable.

After returning to Lishan from the hospital, Zhu Xinyue was ready to pretend to the end. As long as her acting skills were good enough, she could get away with it. When she woke up tomorrow, she would tell Ji Linyu that she could see. He would definitely be happy for her and would not care about anything anymore.

Zhu Xinyue simulated her plan in her mind.

The car slowly entered the underground parking lot of the villa. After parking, the bodyguard opened Zhu Xinyue’s side door.

Zhu Xinyue was about to move but stopped herself.

She couldn’t see. She couldn’t see.

Ji Linyu saw her shift slightly when the car door opened. He smirked and got out of the car, then walked over to her side.

Zhu Xinyue looked straight ahead quietly, waiting for Ji Linyu to come and hold her hand.

The light outside the car was blocked, casting shadows over her. His presence approached, making Zhu Xinyue nervous to the point she couldn’t breathe.

In the next moment, her body suddenly felt weightless.

Ji Linyu effortlessly bypassed her knees and back, easily lifting her out of the car.

Zhu Xinyue was stunned, widened her eyes, turned to stare at Ji Linyu, saw his Adam’s apple move slightly, quickly lowered her gaze, and pretended to remain calm.

“The chassis is a bit high. I was afraid you couldn’t see it.” Ji Linyu easily found an excuse for his actions. After all, she had started pretending first.

“O… okay, thank you,” Zhu Xinyue tugged at his shirt.

To keep the lie going, she would accept even the most ridiculous reasons based on the premise of “she can’t see.”

Ji Linyu lifted Zhu Xinyue out of the car and gently placed her on the ground.

It’s better to proceed gradually. Don’t push too hard.

Ji Linyu stared at her slightly blushing ears, then took her hand and walked towards the elevator.

Zhu Xinyue discreetly glanced at Ji Linyu beside her, then looked away, eyes downcast, focusing on their intertwined fingers.

His hand was so big.

The elevator stopped on the second floor.

Zhu Xinyue thought Ji Linyu would take her back to her room, but he held her hand, passing by her room, passing by Ji Qingyuan’s room, and continued walking forward.

Huh? Where are they going? Just as Zhu Xinyue wondered, Ji Linyu stopped—in front of his room.

Ji Linyu looked down at Zhu Xinyue, she knew he was looking at her and knew where he had brought her to, but she said nothing.

Should she continue pretending?

Ji Linyu turned the doorknob, noticed their hands intertwined, and she quietly tightened her grip.

The air quieted for a moment.

Ji Linyu looked back at her, seeing no reaction from her, just blinking faster, seemingly determined to keep up the act.

“I have a meeting at the company in a while,” so she could relax.

Upon hearing this, Zhu Xinyue didn’t know whether to feel relieved or disappointed.

Ji Linyu pushed open his room door, led her into the dim room, and walked her to the sofa by the French window, saying, “Sit here.”

Then he walked towards the adjacent dressing room.

This was Zhu Xinyue’s first time in Ji Linyu’s room. The decoration style was as clean and warm as him, filling the room with his scent, a fresh plant aroma.

Next to the sofa where she sat was a small round table with a highly designed feel, displaying two financial magazines and small ornaments.

Zhu Xinyue wasn’t interested in financial magazines, but she noticed the small ornament on the table—a preserved flower encased in glass.

The flower looked familiar, like the one she had picked up halfway down the stairs with Ji Linyu in Country Y, a peach-pink flower whose name she didn’t know.

As Zhu Xinyue studied the ornament, she suddenly heard the sound of the cabinet. She immediately sat upright, looked straight ahead, and couldn’t help but be drawn to the direction of the sound.

When they entered the room, they didn’t turn on the lights. The curtains were half-drawn, allowing rectangular sunlight to shine on the round table next to Zhu Xinyue’s hand. The interior decorations were barely visible in this sunlight, but when the dressing room opposite the foot of the bed lit up, all the light in the room gathered there, instantly capturing her attention.

Zhu Xinyue looked in the direction of the dressing room and couldn’t look away.

Ji Linyu was changing clothes with his back to her. With his movements, warm light and dark shadows played on his broad back, revealing his cold white skin, firm muscles, distinct contours, and the light and shadow flowed like a river on his body, displaying his figure without reserve.

She dared not imagine how good it would feel.

Her breathing slowed down as Zhu Xinyue’s gaze followed the shadowed indentation on his back upwards…

Only to see Ji Linyu already dressed and turning around.

Their eyes met again. She couldn’t dodge it in time.

Ji Linyu looked at her with a smile that was neither a smile nor an invitation, asking her:

“Do you want to touch it?”

Haha! I absolutely love how Ji Linyu took advantage of Zhu Xinyue’s pretend blindess to tease her and get some benefits for himself. She blew her cover sooner than I imagined, lol, but it was at the perfect moment.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😀
