Chapter 8: The President and the Massage Chair 08
After having a late breakfast, wandering around, and relaxing at the villa for two days, Tang Bin was once again driven down the mountain by President Shang. They left the suburbs and merged back into the bustling lights and traffic of the big city.
For some reason, Tang Bin suddenly felt a sense of loneliness, and soon after, he started to feel down.
This feeling of unhappiness lasted until after he had dinner with Shang Chengjun and was driven home by him.
“Are you tired?” Shang Chengjun stopped the car downstairs at Tang Bin’s rented apartment and didn’t rush to leave.
Tang Bin quickly shook his head when he heard the question, saying he hadn’t done much that day and didn’t feel tired.
“I thought you seemed a bit unwilling to talk, so I thought maybe you were tired,” Shang Chengjun said, showing him a charming smile. “Go up and rest. If anyone gives you trouble at the company tomorrow, just call me.”
“Okay, thanks,” Tang Bin said obediently as he got out of the car.
Shang Chengjun lowered the car window and said he would only leave once he saw Tang Bin enter the building.
Tang Bin had no choice but to obediently walk back.
He turned around three times, looking back.
When he could no longer see Shang Chengjun or the car, he was left alone in the dark night. That was when Tang Bin realized—he only started feeling down when he realized he had to separate from President Shang.
And now, the sadness he felt was even stronger than before.
“Why do I feel so sad?” Tang Bin asked, confused, to 3376.
This time, the system didn’t answer his question. Instead, it gave him a report on the rewards he had earned and informed him that a limited-time event had just started, and he was lucky enough to be part of it.
The event involved three awards, and the top three in each category would receive a special skill.
The system introduced the benefits of this skill, but Tang Bin didn’t pay much attention.
In fact, he didn’t care much because there were thousands of participants, and Tang Bin never believed he would be one of the top three.
【This skill will allow you to always know the male lead’s affection for the player. This feature has many benefits, not only helping the player understand the male lead’s mindset and preferences but also tracking the completion of your tasks…】
Tang Bin sighed silently: It really sounds great.
【Moreover, this skill will accompany the player permanently and will not be revoked until all tasks are completed.】
Tang Bin took a deep breath: But it won’t belong to me.
【…Don’t be discouraged, host. We will select the top performer, the one with the most rewards, and the one with the highest popularity. Right now, your rewards are far more than those of other players, so you still have a good chance!】
3376’s voice again sounded excited.
Tang Bin didn’t feel happy, but he did feel a little relieved.
This was the smallest comfort on this lonely night…
Wow!
Thinking of Shang Chengjun, he suddenly felt like crying again.
After all, being around President Shang was so warm, fulfilling, and carefree… to the point where Tang Bin nearly forgot about his own mission…
Right! The mission!
Finally, a spark of motivation flickered within him. He hurriedly ran up the stairs, almost tripping in his rush.
Although the task wasn’t completed yet, who knew what had happened? He had spent an entire weekend with President Shang! That had to have been a significant experience, right?
Tang Bin rushed back to his apartment. Long Ke was sitting on the sofa in a tank top and shorts, sipping beer and munching on duck necks while watching a sports show.
“What? What? What did you say?!” Long Ke widened his eyes, staring at him in disbelief. “You mean you spent two days with the rich woman… I mean, your crush?!”
“It wasn’t two days, it was a day and a half,” Tang Bin corrected, counting on his fingers. “I still have to work tomorrow. I couldn’t stay at the villa forever.”
“…” Long Ke stared at him as if he were an alien. With the alcohol kicking in, he swayed and fell back on the couch, trying to make sense of the situation. “So, you stayed at the villa with your crush and spent the night together, but nothing happened?!”
“Nothing happened?” Tang Bin blinked, confused. He continued counting on his fingers. “A lot of things happened… We had a meal, picked fruit, fished, and soaked in the hot spring…”
“You!” Long Ke interrupted him, exasperated, clutching his chest. “Is that the point? Is that what matters?!”
“Hmm…” Tang Bin fell silent, looking like a child caught in the act of doing something wrong.
Although he still didn’t understand what he had done wrong.
“I told you to work hard so you could create opportunities for you two to meet! But the point is what happens after you meet! You went out with her, and you didn’t do anything?! How the hell do you expect to win her over like that?”
“…Why didn’t you say so earlier?” Tang Bin’s eyes reddened. He curled up on the couch like a helpless little bunny.
Long Ke defused the tension. “Well, if you’re working overtime every day, who knew you went out to play? I thought you were still stuck coding at work. I even worried about you last night, thinking you might collapse from exhaustion!”
“…”
Long Ke was like that—his words weren’t always the kindest, but he was definitely sincere and cared about him.
Tang Bin knew this, and although he was a little scared, he still held on to the corner of Long Ke’s big shorts, looking pitiful as he muttered, “But the night before I left, you only sent me a WeChat saying ‘Going out to pick up girls tonight,’ and didn’t even come home.”
Long Ke: “…”
“Fine, fine, we’re both in the wrong. Let’s just agree to let it go.”
Long Ke softened his attitude. He took another sip of beer, then mischievously asked Tang Bin, “So you’re saying you two soaked in the hot spring together yesterday? In the same pool?”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
“Was it arranged by her?”
“Yeah.”
“Were you both wearing clothes?”
“We both wore swimsuits.”
“…So, nothing really happened?”
“Hmm.”
Tang Bin hesitated for a moment before telling Long Ke about how, yesterday, he was so stirred up that he had to hide in the bathroom for a while.
Long Ke was instantly stunned.
“Holy crap, I didn’t think not only were you a virgin, but you’re also such an innocent virgin. Don’t tell me you’ve never even watched porn.”
Tang Bin searched his memory and sincerely replied, “I have watched it.”
It was just that, in the original owner’s memory, that part wasn’t very clear. And when it came to him, he had no idea what was going on with those two people on the screen.
Long Ke: “…Well, you should watch a few more films when you get the chance.”
Tang Bin: “…”
“Alright, I’ll send you a few. Good grief, the books you’ve been reading have really messed up your brain. If Uncle Le and Aunt Le knew about this, they’d probably worry themselves sick.”
Long Ke said this while getting up to go back to his room.
He opened the rarely-used computer in his room, the one that had become slow and outdated. It was an old second-hand computer that had been discarded by the original owner, and since it wasn’t worth much, it was just left in Long Ke’s room for him to play with.
When Long Ke was younger, he enjoyed playing games, but despite his carefree appearance, he was serious when it came to business. He was ambitious, always busy with deals, and eventually stopped playing games. The computer went unused.
Later, he’d use it to watch adult films, but as Long Ke became more successful, surrounded by women, even his right hand was retired. The computer naturally went unused for a long time.
“Damn, I forgot. The computer got a virus and was reinstalled. Everything got deleted,” Long Ke grumbled as he scratched his head.
Tang Bin showed him the hard drive, which was clean with no traces of anything left. It was clear that everything had been permanently deleted.
Long Ke even tried searching for some resources online, but with the internet clean-up becoming stricter and his long hiatus from researching such things, he couldn’t find a single resource.
“Ugh, aren’t you some kind of expert? Why don’t you look it up yourself when you have time?” Long Ke finally gave up. He was annoyed from searching and, now fueled by alcohol, continued talking to Tang Bin nonstop. “So, what’s the main point of what I’m saying? First, you need to stick to her, understand? As soon as you meet, just cling to her. Stick to her! Got it?”
“…” Tang Bin nodded. He understood the “stick to her” part. He had tried hard before, but it seemed his efforts were misdirected…
Tang Bin sighed and continued listening to Long Ke’s advice.
“Second, you need to be proactive whenever you get the chance. What kind of person is she? Do you really expect her to be the one to bring up anything like… that?”
“That… what?”
“Yeah, she brought you to the villa. You’ve had showers, soaked in the hot spring… Do you think she’s trying to have a tea party or something?”
“So what exactly is that… ‘that’?”
“…Go find a movie to watch, be good.”
In the end, Tang Bin had no choice but to leave Long Ke alone in the living room, continuing to drink beer and watch the game. He went to take a shower, then really went online to find a movie.
Before searching for one, he took out some paper and a pen, writing down the two key points Long Ke had just given him:
“First, you need to stick to her.”
“Second, take any chance you get to try ‘that.'”
After noting these points, Tang Bin, feeling like he was doing homework, opened his computer and started searching for a movie.
These days, it was difficult to find anything, but fortunately, Tang Bin had some hacking skills, so he easily bypassed the restrictions and found a movie.
He was also clever enough to realize that since he was in a BL (Boys’ Love) story, both he and President Shang were male, so the movies he found were all gay films.
So, Tang Bin started watching.
“Ah!” After just a few moments into the first film, Tang Bin was so startled that his hand shook and he turned it off.
But remembering how heartbroken Long Ke had been earlier, Tang Bin realized he wasn’t very smart and that whatever he did, he had to put in much more effort than others. So, he forced himself to continue watching the next film.
Perhaps because both people in this one were quite handsome, and the actions weren’t as crude, Tang Bin didn’t feel the same shock he had felt earlier.
But the more he watched, the more he felt something was off—
If this is what Long Ke meant by ‘that,’ then he and President Shang…
Just imagining the scene of him kissing President Shang made Tang Bin’s blood rush, and when he further imagined the two of them, all naked and kissing…
Tang Bin quickly tilted his head back, pinching his nose to stop the nosebleed, panicking as his mind was overwhelmed with one thought—Oh my god, I’m bleeding!
No wonder this task is “kill or be killed,” it’s really too difficult!
The next day, Tang Bin went to work with a messy head of hair.
The dark circles under his eyes were even heavier, making it seem like he hadn’t rested for the past two days and had been working non-stop.
“Wow, Le Yang, what happened to you?” His colleagues exclaimed in surprise. “Come on, tell us, where have you been these past couple of days? Did you piss off someone with a short temper again?”
“What short temper?”
“Mr. Pang! He came in this morning and threw a fit, saying he wants to find you. What did you do to annoy him?”
Tang Bin shook his head and didn’t answer. He sat at his desk and opened his computer.
He had dreamed half the night, with the first part full of entwined, naked bodies, and the later part revealed the face of one of the people—always President Shang’s handsome, perfect face.
Tang Bin was exhausted. Right now, he really didn’t have the energy to deal with Mr. Pang.
Indeed, once his mind went blank, it was easy for him to start overthinking. He needed to get back into work mode quickly.
Tang Bin thought to himself.
Time did pass quickly once he got into work.
The morning went by peacefully. As lunch break approached, Pang Yuqing came out of Mr. Yu’s office with a file folder in hand.
Just as Tang Bin was getting water from the break room, he bumped into him. Pang Yuqing looked in a great mood, completely different from the low pressure atmosphere his colleagues had mentioned earlier. In fact, when he saw Tang Bin, he even smiled smugly, which left Tang Bin confused.
“I’ve already told Mr. Yu about your situation,” Pang Yuqing said. “Don’t blame me for reporting on you. After all, we’re at work. If I can’t control you, I naturally have to report it to my superiors.”
Tang Bin pretended not to hear what he was saying and ignored him, continuing to quietly fill his cup with water.
Even if the matter got reported to the boss, he was in the right, so there was nothing to fear.
Pang Yuqing hated how Tang Bin always acted weak and fragile in front of others, but in front of him, he dared to ignore him. He couldn’t understand why Tang Bin would behave like this, but it was probably because he couldn’t fully control his body or change the habits of the original person, and because he was naturally timid.
Pang Yuqing snorted and, before leaving, left a threatening remark: “You wait, there will be a day when you really cry.”
That left Tang Bin standing there, sighing.
Poor him, a newly emerged monster in human society, had only been here for a few days and had already become an old man.
What puzzled him the most was why this person had to make things so complicated. Was it just because he was kind and easy to bully?
Pang Yuqing left directly. He hadn’t walked far when he saw a delivery boy poking his head into the office, asking, “Le Yang, is he here? Your meal has arrived.”
“It’s not even lunchtime yet. Little Le Yang, you’re so eager!” Colleague A, who often freeloaded food and drinks, stood up. Seeing Tang Bin’s seat was empty, he naturally came out to help receive the delivery.
Then, the entire office heard his shout of surprise: “What the hell, Le Yang, you’ve really hit it big behind our backs!”
Tang Bin heard someone call his name and walked out of the break room with his cup, only to see his colleague holding an elegant food box, sniffing the aroma coming from it. When he saw Tang Bin, he asked, “Le Yang, where did you order this from? I’ve never seen such high-end packaging before!”
“I didn’t order takeout,” Tang Bin said, feeling confused. He walked over to check it out. The meal box was as big as a wooden barrel, with a carved wooden design. The packaging was sealed tight, and although he had no idea what was inside, it was heavy, which suggested there were probably some good things inside.
The commotion caught the attention of the other colleagues. Colleague A was even more confused: “If it wasn’t you, then who ordered it?”
He searched around the box and picked up the receipt stuck on the outside, glancing at it. “XX Building, B Tower, 16th Floor, Room 1609, Le Yang, it’s you!”
“What the hell, this meal, including the packaging and delivery fee, costs over four hundred?!” Colleague A finally believed that Tang Bin wasn’t the one who ordered the takeout. “Le Yang, tell us, who loves you so much?”
Tang Bin was also utterly confused.
