The strange texture of the map made the guard even more cautious. He examined it closely, unsure of what material it was made of, yet amazed that something could be drawn on it.
At Ying Zheng’s signal, the guard quickly presented the map to him, unaware that Zhao Gao’s gaze had grown colder as he watched.
Yun Tutu observed all this and sighed deeply. Her inadvertent actions might have jeopardized the guard standing before her. She could only hope that the First Emperor would believe her words.
“Marvelous, truly marvelous,” Ying Zheng exclaimed, clearly impressed. Although he couldn’t read the characters on the map, he recognized the boundaries of Qin’s territory. However, he hadn’t realized that beyond the Six States, the world was so vast.
Now that he had conquered parts of Zhao, Wei, and Han, the lands on the map made his conquests seem insignificant by comparison.
Ying Zheng’s eyes gleamed as he stared at the world map. If all these lands could be brought under Qin’s rule, it would truly be a grand unification.
“What is this made of?” Ying Zheng asked, his hands running over the map. It was far clearer than any parchment scroll.
“There’s more to see,” Yun Tutu said as she pulled out the books from her backpack, though she held back the “Five Thousand Years of History.” She knew that her presence would alter history, creating a new timeline.
“What are these?” Even Zhao Gao couldn’t help but be curious about the books she placed on the ground. As someone who had seen many rare things serving the king, the items this mysterious person brought were entirely unfamiliar to him.
The ability to appear out of nowhere, coupled with this person’s bizarre origins, made Zhao Gao uneasy.
Before the guards could act, Ying Zheng had already stepped forward to examine the books himself.
Yun Tutu noticed the nervous guards and didn’t want to trouble them further. She lifted each book to show them that they contained nothing but clean white pages.
“These are books, written on paper, which is similar to the bamboo slips you use for records, but much easier to carry.”
“…” Ying Zheng flipped through the books. Although he couldn’t read the script, he understood their significance. Such neatly organized paper, densely packed with characters—if these could be adapted into their own script, his workload would be greatly reduced.
The palace archives, which occupied a vast amount of space, would be far more manageable. Searching for records wouldn’t take nearly as long.
“Excellent, truly excellent!” As an emperor, Ying Zheng immediately recognized the potential benefits for Qin. This was indeed a monumental breakthrough.
“Can you show your true face?” Ying Zheng asked, noting the feminine voice beneath the helmet but willing to extend the respect due to someone offering such treasures.
Without hesitation, Yun Tutu removed her helmet, revealing a confident smile on her delicate, fair face.
Moments ago, she had been trembling with fear, but now that she was sure these ancient people couldn’t harm her, she felt much more at ease.
“Your Majesty, I come from several thousand years in the future, and I am one of your descendants,” Yun Tutu declared, feeling no guilt in referring to herself as such. After all, everyone regarded Qin Shi Huang as the revered ancestor, and the term “descendant” fit perfectly.
“My descendant?” Ying Zheng scrutinized the girl before him. She looked good, but not as refined as the princesses in his palace.
“You could say that,” Yun Tutu replied, shifting into full fangirl mode upon standing so close to the First Emperor. “By the way, I also brought you some high-yield seeds. Let me get them for you.”
As Song Song urged her to hurry, Yun Tutu decided to ignore it for the moment.
“High-yield seeds,” Ying Zheng’s interest in the books waned as his eyes locked onto Yun Tutu. “If they truly are high-yield seeds, there will be a reward.”
In the ongoing unification, besides relying on the warriors of Qin, national strength was crucial, and food was of utmost importance.
Yun Tutu began unloading the seeds from the side compartments of her bike. Ying Zheng and Zhao Gao’s eyes widened as more and more items emerged. How could such a small box hold so many things? Were their eyes deceiving them?
“Your Majesty, this is indeed a divine artifact,” Zhao Gao’s eyes filled with greed as he looked at Yun Tutu with malicious intent. “Only you are worthy of possessing such a treasure.”
Ying Zheng glanced at Zhao Gao. Although usually loyal, Zhao Gao’s vision and self-control were lacking.
The young woman before them had already stated that she was his future descendant and had come to present treasures. As an ancestor, how could he possibly mistreat her, let alone harbor thoughts of taking her possessions by force?
Most importantly, he had observed carefully from behind—no one could touch this girl. He couldn’t afford to sour relations with her; as the King of Qin, he had his pride.
“Zhao Gao, summon Prince Fusu,” Ying Zheng ordered.
Zhao Gao hesitated before replying, “Yes, Your Majesty…”
After Yun Tutu finished unloading, a small mountain of goods had formed beside her. Seeing Zhao Gao leave, Yun Tutu remembered something more important and quickly pulled out her phone. “Your Majesty, I have a short video for you to watch.”
She opened the video she had downloaded earlier, but before handing over the phone, she added, “Please, stay calm.”
She had only this one phone; she couldn’t afford for it to be damaged.
Ying Zheng glanced at the unfamiliar seeds, curious about what other surprises this girl might have in store.
Yun Tutu played the video and handed it over. Before Ying Zheng could take a good look, he was stunned by the scene.
A middle-aged man, dressed in a black imperial robe, ascended a ceremonial platform with an air of unmatched dominance.
“I have unified the six states, bringing all under one rule. I have built the Great Wall to protect the Dragon Veins of the Nine Provinces, safeguarding our Qin and securing our nation.
I, the First Emperor, hereby swear to defend our lands, expand our territories, and establish a foundation for our Qin to last ten thousand generations. Should I fall, my spirit will transform into a dragon’s soul, protecting China and ensuring it never falls.
I make this vow before the sun and moon, witnessed by heaven and earth, and by all gods, demons, and spirits alike.”
Hearing this, Yun Tutu awkwardly smiled and said, “Your Majesty, I played the wrong video.”
Ying Zheng stared at the video in awe. “Did I say this? Is that person in the video supposed to be me?”
Though the person looked nothing like him, Ying Zheng couldn’t shake the feeling that it was indeed him.
“Yes, Your Majesty, this is something you said after unifying the six states…”
“Did I really unify the six states?”
“Of course,” Yun Tutu replied, feeling a bit unsure of how to answer. The King of Qin hadn’t yet completed his conquest, but his presence was already intimidating. “I have other videos as well. Let me show you.”
Ying Zheng, now more convinced of Yun Tutu’s origins, grew increasingly curious. He could see from her eyes that she harbored no ill will towards him, only admiration.
“My life?” Ying Zheng asked, intrigued. It seemed he was indeed destined for greatness, as he could now learn about his future.
