Yun Tutu stared at the row of mahogany furniture, blinking in surprise. It was clearly well-prepared, but she couldn’t help wondering whose plans it might have disrupted. Silently apologizing, she continued her tour with excitement.
She went up to the third floor, which still had the same familiar smell, but with one fewer room and an added balcony compared to downstairs.
With a total of ten rooms spread across the floors, how could anyone possibly use them all?
Song Song whispered in her ear with a laugh, “You don’t seriously think all of this is for you, do you? Don’t forget, you’ll have other Companions in the future. They’ll be arriving before five this afternoon. Where do you think they’ll stay?”
Yun Tutu was speechless.
“Why don’t you pick where you want to stay first?”
Yun Tutu immediately smiled brightly, patting her chest with a silly grin, “That’s great then. I was really afraid of staying here alone. To be honest, the rental house I had before felt safer.”
“You’re not alone, are you? There’s me too,” Song Song immediately displayed a little wooden puppet facing away from Yun Tutu to show its dissatisfaction.
Yun Tutu hesitated, “…Are you really a person?”
Song Song responded, “…I suspect you’re insulting me…”
Yun Tutu said, “No way, in your current form, you’re just a cartoon character.”
Song Song retorted, “Nonsense. Once I have enough energy, I…”
Yun Tutu asked, “What’s wrong? Can you become human?”
“Of course not,” Song Song said dejectedly, “It requires too much energy. You’d need to complete thousands of tasks to accumulate that much. If I had that much energy, I could even return to the side of the God of Creation.”
Yun Tutu encouraged, “Then let’s work hard together.”
Yun Tutu ultimately chose a room on the third floor, which would be her private space in the future.
She carried the items one by one. By the time she finished, she was out of breath and covered in sweat.
“This really is physical labor,” Yun Tutu thought about whether she should set up a room for exercise, but it seemed unnecessary. Climbing stairs every day was already exhausting enough.
Ignoring Song Song, who was having a great time in another room, she cleaned up quickly and returned downstairs.
Just as she arrived, she noticed the communicator Zhang Yaowen had given her was flashing on the coffee table. She hurried over, “Comrade Yun, could you please open the door? We’re at the entrance now.”
Yun Tutu was surprised and quickly checked the time on her phone—it was still not even four o’clock. They had arrived earlier than expected.
She opened the door to find two women and one man standing outside. Each of them carried a small suitcase, their eyes warmly fixed on her.
Feeling a bit awkward under their gaze, Yun Tutu gave a dry smile and waved at them.
“Sorry to keep you waiting. I was upstairs and left my phone downstairs.”
She also took the opportunity to examine the people in front of her.
The leader was a woman in her thirties, dressed in a neat business suit with glasses perched on her nose. Yun Tutu couldn’t help but gulp—she looked every bit like a strict headmistress.
Behind her was a younger woman in her twenties, with short hair styled neatly. She was also curiously observing Yun Tutu.
The third person was a familiar face—Zhang Yaowen, who had just left not long ago. It was unclear when he had made another round and come through a different door.
“Hello, Comrade Yun Tutu! In the coming days, I will be your assistant, fully coordinating with your work,” said the serious-looking leader, who was scrutinizing Yun Tutu with a steady gaze. “Let me introduce myself. My name is Chen Yuxi.”
Zhang Yaowen added, “Chen Jie, let’s not be so formal. Let’s discuss things inside. There’s no need to be so stern right away. You’re not here to be a drill sergeant, are you?”
Chen Yuxi glanced at him, pursed her lips, and nodded, “I was too hasty. Can we go inside to talk?”
Suddenly assigned such a task, she was somewhat at a loss and felt a bit resistant.
However, Yun Tutu’s clear eyes, though trying to remain calm, revealed a touch of nervousness.
Yun Tutu sighed with relief. Thankfully, Zhang Yaowen was with them; otherwise, she wouldn’t have known how to handle the situation.
She quickly invited them inside, and after everyone was seated, they began introducing themselves.
Besides Chen Yuxi, the other woman, whose name suited her well, was Zhang Yang, 27 years old.
She was another assistant, responsible for handling daily chores.
After everyone had introduced themselves, Zhang Yaowen said, “I’m Zhang Yaowen. You can call me Zhang Ge or Zhang Shu. I’ll be responsible for your safety and will help as much as I can.”
Yun Tutu looked curiously at his dark face. Zhang Yaowen seemed to notice her curiosity and added, “I’m already 39 this year. You might as well call me Zhang Ge.”
Given the age difference, calling him ‘Shu’ would seem like taking advantage.
Yun Tutu complied, “Zhang Ge, Chen Jie, Zhang Jie, hello. I’ll be relying on you in the coming days.”
Chen Yuxi, observing the empty space, did not see the mentioned Cross-Dimensional delivery system and did not ask further.
Their task was to assist Yun Tutu, and they hoped she would indeed bring them surprises.
Yun Tutu glanced at their luggage and said, “I’ve chosen to stay on the third floor. You can arrange the other rooms as you see fit.”
Zhang Yaowen suggested, “The women should stay on the second floor, while I’ll take the first floor.”
Yun Tutu thought, “…I need to work harder to earn more and eventually set up a separate home for my grandparents.”
Here, it was considered more of an office space than a home.
Yun Tutu touched her stomach and asked, “Can we order takeout here?”
Given the strict security, delivery personnel might be reluctant to come.
“If you need anything, I can arrange for it to be brought here,” said the more lively Zhang Yang with a smile. “Although delivery might be difficult, someone can go out to buy supplies.”
“…Isn’t that too much trouble?”
She looked at the kitchen and suggested, “Let’s have some ingredients delivered, and we can cook ourselves.”
“My cooking skills are quite good,” Chen Yuxi said, adding that home-cooked meals were more hygienic than fast food. “I can go to the kitchen and prepare everything.”
“I can help too…”
Alright then, the matter was settled. Yun Tutu quickly offered to help wash the vegetables, not wanting to be idle.
The group got along well, and they eagerly examined the motorcycle, confirming its capacity as Yun Tutu had described. They looked forward to the next order with anticipation.
