I Deliver Takeout Across the Multiverse Chapter 63: Apocalyptic World – Xie Yufei (Part 2)

As expected, after turning the second corner, they came across a row of office buildings with transparent glass windows. From the outside, Yun Tutu could see the busy scenes inside.

“This is our office area. Space is tight, and it’s getting a bit cramped,” Wu Yaodong said with a hint of helplessness. There was nothing they could do—this was all the space they had, even though they were trying their best to expand.

“It’s already quite impressive,” Yun Tutu remarked. They had been walking downhill the entire time, so out of curiosity, she asked, “How far are we from the surface?”

Xie Yufei replied, “This level is still relatively close—around 20 meters down. But if you go further down, it’s about 100 meters deep.”

Yun Tutu was amazed. “That’s incredible.”

“Don’t worry, it’s completely safe down here,” Xie Yufei reassured her, misunderstanding her concern. “Besides this main entrance, there are several emergency exits. And the whole structure is reinforced with solid diamond-like plating, so there’s no risk of collapse.”

Yun Tutu clicked her tongue in admiration. This was truly an impressive feat of engineering.

“You mentioned there are other bases. Are there many of them?” she asked, curious.

Xie Yufei nodded. “There are over a hundred, big and small. Our land is vast, and it’s impossible for everyone to gather in one place.”

As they chatted, they reached a large hall. To accommodate Yun Tutu’s motorcycle, one of the doors had been removed entirely.

Realizing it was time to get down to business, Yun Tutu didn’t waste any time. She handed the list of supplies she brought with her to Xie Yufei. “Here’s the inventory. Let’s figure out the trade.”

Xie Yufei glanced at it before passing it over to Wu Yaodong. After all, she was only the intermediary; the real decision-maker was him.

“Let’s start with your requirements,” Wu Yaodong said, taking the list. As he scanned the items and quantities, his composed expression faltered for a moment.

With this batch of medicine, combined with their own antidotes, the base might finally be saved.

Xie Yufei had already told him her suspicions about Yun Tutu’s origins. And after seeing her motorcycle and realizing she had managed to make it here alone, Wu Yaodong was convinced. If she was really from an ancient past brought to the present, then they needed to help her in any way they could. Maybe in another timeline, their people wouldn’t have to endure such hardship.

When Yun Tutu began unloading the supplies, including the storage rings and water tanks she had brought last time, Wu Yaodong’s resolve strengthened. He immediately instructed his subordinates to prepare the materials.

“Here’s everything we have. Unfortunately, some of the technologies we use come from other bases, so we can’t access all of it,” Wu Yaodong said, handing over a box of documents along with nearly a hundred more storage tanks. “If you have the opportunity to come again, we’d appreciate it if you could bring more water, and that alcohol you brought—it’s been extremely valuable to us.”

Despite their full protective measures, injuries were inevitable when dealing with mutant beasts, making medicine for external wounds crucial as well.

Yun Tutu gratefully accepted the items, carefully storing them in the rear compartment of her motorcycle.

Wu Yaodong then handed over ten rings. “Each of these rings has a storage capacity of ten cubic meters. If possible, please bring more food next time. We’ll also do our best to acquire more valuable materials from other bases.”

He had already estimated that Yun Tutu’s motorcycle couldn’t carry too much, even with the storage rings from Ding Zongsheng’s group. The space still wasn’t enough compared to the capacity of one of these rings. By gifting these ten rings, he hoped she could bring back more supplies for their survival in future trips.

Just then, an old man with wild white hair burst into the room, his face alight with excitement. He grabbed Wu Yaodong’s hand and shook it like a child, exclaiming, “The seeds have sprouted!”

“Really? Are you sure, Old Bai?” Wu Yaodong asked, equally excited but needing confirmation.

Bai Yang laughed, his eyes filled with joy. “Of course I’m sure! I’ve been watching the plots of land every day. This is a great start! With these seeds, we finally have hope.”

He continued, his voice trembling with emotion. “Do you have any more seeds? If you do, give them to me right away. We need to plant as much as we can, expand the fields. I never want to eat those awful nutritional supplements again.”

After saying that, Old Bai covered his face and sobbed like a child. “We’re a nation built on farming. Growing crops is in our blood. I’ve waited my whole life for this, and I never thought I’d live to see the day when we could grow something again.”

The entire room fell silent. Yun Tutu was equally shocked. Could these be the seeds she had brought last time?

She turned to look at Xie Yufei, who nodded silently.

“Decades of disasters wiped out most of the seeds. The nutritional supplements we have now are made from whatever wild grasses and weeds managed to survive, combined with minerals,” Xie Yufei explained.

When they submitted the seeds last time, everyone had been skeptical. After all, it had been decades since any crops had been grown. How could seeds have survived? Even if some were found, they likely wouldn’t be viable.

In desperation, Xie Yufei and his group had taken out their private stash of canned food to persuade the others.

At that moment, Wu Yaodong turned to Yun Tutu, looking at her as if she were a shining angel. His tone softened, “Tutu, next time you come, could you bring more seeds?”

He wanted to ask her to bring livestock as well, but that was a step too far. First, they needed to ensure people were fed.

“Of course,” Yun Tutu agreed. They had prioritized medicine this time, not realizing how important seeds would be.

Seeing Yun Tutu agree, Wu Yaodong was about to express his thanks when Old Bai beat him to it, rushing forward to grab her hands, his eyes wide with gratitude. “Young lady, you brought us these seeds. We’re incredibly grateful. Could you bring some high-yield seeds next time?”

“You mean potatoes, sweet potatoes?” Yun Tutu asked, surprised that the names of these common crops had been forgotten in this world.

“Yes, yes! Potatoes and sweet potatoes!” Old Bai slapped his forehead. “I’m getting old and forgetful. I’ve read about them in books. They have high yields and are easy to grow.”

Yun Tutu felt a lump in her throat and nodded firmly. “Next time, when Xie Yufei contacts me, I’ll make sure to bring them.”

With ten more storage rings at her disposal, Yun Tutu realized she could bring much more in the future. Clearly, this had been Wu Yaodong’s real intention.

Though she hadn’t brought a large quantity of goods this time, the information she had acquired was far more valuable than any amount of gold or treasure.
