I Deliver Takeout Across the Multiverse Chapter 64: Apocalyptic World – Xie Yufei (Part 3)

Yun Tutu hadn’t heard any urging from Song Song, so she wasn’t in a rush to return. She pulled Xie Yufei aside and asked, “How are your companions from last time? Are they okay?”

She only saw Ding Zongsheng this time, and couldn’t help but feel concerned.

“Both Huang Ruining and Cui Danni are still in the medical ward. Thanks to the medicine you brought last time, we managed to save their lives,” Xie Yufei replied, her face filled with gratitude. “And the canned food and supplies you gave us were a huge help. Even if we don’t go on any more missions this year, we could still live comfortably in the base.”

Xie Yufei discreetly slipped a storage ring into Yun Tutu’s hand and whispered, “Next time you come, help me bring some things. The list and payment are inside.”

Yun Tutu lowered her voice and asked, “You handed over everything last time, though, didn’t you?”

“There was no other way. The base is a collective, and the medicine and seeds you brought were too important to keep to ourselves. We couldn’t be selfish and hide them,” Xie Yufei said with a smile, thinking about the seeds that had already sprouted. “Looking back, we made the right choice. With the base’s support, we’ve been able to help everyone.”

“With that contribution, we’ve earned the base’s trust, so they won’t treat us poorly in the future,” she added.

As for trading a few things privately with Yun Tutu, that had already been approved by the base commander. After all, it didn’t affect public resources.

She kept it discreet, not wanting to put the commander in an awkward position.

Yun Tutu understood her choice—it was similar to the one she would have made in that situation.

Ding Zongsheng had already emptied the storage ring of its medicines and handed it back to Yun Tutu. “I traded for this earlier. I can’t hold onto it any longer.”

Yun Tutu took the ring and asked, “Your injuries healed pretty quickly. Do you have some kind of special medicine?”

Ding Zongsheng smiled wryly, immediately understanding her curiosity. “No, no special medicine. It’s just that after experiencing so many disasters, it seems like our bodies have adapted. Wounds tend to heal faster now.”

He glanced at the medicine and added, “You are not alone, did you?”

After seeing the amount of supplies Yun Tutu had brought, it was clear that someone was supporting her.

Yun Tutu pointed out the unique markings on the medicine packaging. “Of course not! There’s no way I could manage this much on my own.”

Wu Yaodong, who had long noticed something unusual, clapped Ding Zongsheng on the shoulder. “She’s got some good allies.”

He had suspected something out of the ordinary and had given Yun Tutu so many storage rings in hopes that she could bring more supplies next time.

“Yun Tutu, we’ve given you as much of the information as we could collect this time.” Wu Yaodong said.

Is there anything specific you’d like me to prepare for next time?” Yun Tutu asked.

“If possible, aside from supplies, we’d love for you to bring more seeds. According to our research, some hydroponic seeds could be incredibly beneficial…”

Yun Tutu interrupted with a smile. “Can you hold on a moment? I’d like to record this. If you’re okay with it, I can just do an audio recording.”

She explained, “People’s memories can be unreliable sometimes, and I don’t want to forget any details.”

During her last supernatural encounter, she had foolishly written everything by hand, only to realize later that she could’ve just recorded it on her phone.

Song Song’s voice suddenly echoed in her mind, “That wouldn’t work in certain worlds. In the last supernatural world, the magnetic field interfered with electronic devices, so nothing worked.”

Yun Tutu hesitated. “Will it work here?”

“There’s no issue here. Luckily, you asked. Otherwise, they could have blocked it,” Song Song replied.

Just then, Wu Yaodong gestured to his assistant. “Turn off the signal jammer.”

Once he got it all-clear, he nodded at Yun Tutu. “That’s it for now.”

Wu Yaodong handed her a freshly organized list. “These are the essentials. Everything else is optional, depending on what you can bring.”

Yun Tutu agreed, eager to gather more data, especially records of the last century’s disasters.

“I was wondering, could things like gold, silver, or jade be used to offset some of the costs?” Wu Yaodong asked. He had a storeroom full of such items, which were worthless in their world. No one cared about them anymore, but things might be different in Yun Tutu’s world.

Yun Tutu responded, “I’d prefer more information, whatever you can provide.”

These records were invaluable, worth more than any precious metal. If she could travel to more worlds like this one, her own world’s technology could make incredible leaps.

With everything agreed upon, Yun Tutu suppressed her curiosity and bid farewell to Xie Yufei and the others.

The deal had gone so smoothly that by the time Yun Tutu returned to the present, she still felt dazed.

After handing off the goods to Zhang Yaowen and the others for inventory, she called out to Song Song.

“Song Song, why didn’t you rush me to leave this time?”

“I was using their mainframe just now,” Song Song replied, its tone full of excitement. “The speed there is amazing, way faster than your world. Plus, I found some really fun games.”

Song Song’s voice turned somewhat pleading. “Next time, can I chip in? Help me bring something back, and I’ll trade for a new, top-of-the-line computer.”

“…” Yun Tutu realized now why everything had been so quiet—it had been playing games.

“You could’ve reminded me! I wanted to explore their underground city more.”

“Aww,” Song Song sounded disappointed. “Why didn’t you say so earlier? I could’ve played a few more rounds.”

“A few rounds?” Yun Tutu raised an eyebrow. “How long is one round?”

“Ha! Shows how much you know about games,” Song Song mocked. “It depends on the player’s skill, not on time.”

“So, you’re saying I could’ve stayed longer without any problems?”

“…That’s not what I meant! If you didn’t come back, how would we take on the next order?”

“Sounds like you’re feeling guilty,” Yun Tutu teased.

“Why would I feel guilty? You finished your trade, so why would you need to stick around?” Song Song retorted.

“You’ve been acting suspiciously. Does that mean I don’t actually need to rush back after a transaction?”

“No way! I told you before, I use energy for this!”

“And how do you collect that energy?”

“When you make a delivery, of course.”

“So it’s not about the quantity of goods I bring?”

“…”

“So, you’ve never really cared about how much I deliver, have you?” Yun Tutu said, realizing they needed to have a more serious conversation. She headed directly up to the third floor, ready for a long talk.
