The atmosphere suddenly froze. Shi Sheng’s hand gripped his phone, and he blankly met Lu Lin’s gaze. For some reason, a sense of heat rose in his face, as if he were publicly stripped of his modesty and exposed for everyone to see.
Just because the person who jumped off the building happened to do it because of homosexuality, and because he was hugging Lu Lin intimately, the power of public opinion demanded that there be a resolution.
“But it’s okay,” Lu Lin rubbed his head and whispered, “I’ll move out with you.”
Sheng was stunned.
“You’re not going to live in the dormitory anymore?”
“I don’t have to. I mean, I don’t have to live in the dormitory. I used to think it was too much trouble to rent or buy a place outside, and my parents’ house is far from the headquarters.” Lu Lin sat down beside him. Originally, he was just a bachelor who came and went early and late. The purpose of a house to him was just for sleeping, so it didn’t matter where he lived. But now it was different.
After living together for some time with Shi Sheng, the big bed they put together, the double toothbrush cups, the pairs of slippers, and the clothes hanging on the balcony had doubled. The thought of coming back to an empty dormitory every time in the future made Lu Lin uneasy.
“Do you have money?” Shi Sheng looked at him skeptically.
“As an ordinary worker, the savings from three years of work definitely can’t afford to buy a house,” Lu Lin held up his bank card with two fingers, raising an eyebrow. “But I have my dad.”
Shi Sheng was half skeptical. “I remember your dad saying he raises his sons poor and his daughters rich. It’s almost like asking your sister for money.”
“He gave it to me.”
“How did you manage that?”
“Because I told him—I found someone, and I was afraid they’d reject me because I didn’t have a house.” Lu Lin propped his head up, smiling at him, “Isn’t that right, wife?”
“I definitely wouldn’t reject you bec…” Shi Sheng’s words got stuck in his throat, then his ears turned red in an instant, “Who’s your wife?”
“Whoever agrees to be is.”
Lu Lin teased as he leaned in closer. Shi Sheng subconsciously backed away, retreating until half of his butt was off the chair. His hand slipped, and with a bang, he fell off the chair. Lu Lin hurriedly pulled him up, but lost his balance and fell on top of Shi Sheng with a thud.
“Damn it! Lu Lin, you’re so heavy!”
A passing firefighter heard the commotion inside, shook his head, and walked away.
Not long after, Shi Sheng was pulled up from the ground by Lu Lin, and he climbed onto the bed, kicking off his slippers. Lu Lin sat down and bumped his shoulder.
“Wife?”
“What kind of wife, shut up.”
Shi Sheng quickly covered his mouth, but his hand was grabbed, and he was pulled into a hug. He ended up sitting on Lu Lin’s lap, and Lu Lin pinched him, “What are you afraid of, even an ugly wife still has to meet the in-laws.”
“Are you going to come out?” Shi Sheng froze, too preoccupied to care about their sitting position.
“This isn’t urgent.” Lu Lin didn’t know why he thought of this, but he raised his eyebrows and asked, “What do you think our relationship is now?”
Shi Sheng shrunk his body, unsure why he suddenly asked. “Um, we’re… in a relationship.”
“Do you like me? Or to put it another way, do you like me because I’m your boyfriend, or do you feel that you like me through our interactions with each other?”
Lu Lin asked this very seriously, without the playful demeanor from before, which made Shi Sheng somewhat uncomfortable.
“I like you, of course it’s from our interactions together. How could I like someone just because of a label?” Shi Sheng shook his head. “I’ve liked you for a long time, I know that myself.”
This time it was Lu Lin who was stunned. “What do you mean by that?”
“Well, yeah, you know, when I confessed, I probably told you,” Shi Sheng sniffed, feeling drunk without having drunk any alcohol.
“…Yeah, I know,” Lu Lin suddenly smiled. “I know, I just wanted to hear you say it again.”
Sheng sat on his lap, imitating his usual posture, and pointed his finger at Lu Lin’s forehead.
The lights in the dormitory suddenly went out, and everything around them dimmed.
Shi Sheng propped himself up and didn’t expect it to be so late already. He was about to get up to turn on the light switch when Lu Lin suddenly buried his head in his neck, using his unshaved chin to tickle him, making his neck itch.
“What are you doing?” Shi Sheng laughed and pushed him away, but his wrist was grabbed, and he was pressed onto the bed and showered with kisses.
Lu Lin’s kisses were passionate and domineering, different from before, carrying a sense of possession as if he wanted to fill him completely. Shi Sheng felt slightly uncomfortable as he tilted his head back to endure it, as if being affectionately licked by a husky, covered in dog hair and scent. Even his shirt was lifted up, revealing his narrow waist.
Suddenly, Lu Lin whispered in his ear, “When are you going to sleep with me?”
“What?” Shi Sheng’s brain short-circuited for a moment.
“I have needs too.” Lu Lin bit his earlobe and said softly, his palm buried under the shirt, kneading him intermittently. “But the decision is up to you.”
Shi Sheng’s body trembled, his face suddenly not looking right. Seeing this, Lu Lin applied a bit more pressure, causing Shi Sheng’s pale skin to turn red, his head arching in Lu Lin’s arms, feeling a little scared, to be honest.
“Can we take it step by step?” he asked softly, his breath mixed with panting.
“What do you mean by that?”
“I heard… for these kinds of things, you need to prepare a lot,” Sheng hesitated, “you know, we can’t rush it, I suggest… we educate ourselves first.”
Lu Lin burst into laughter. “Okay.”
He had only wanted to test Shi Sheng’s attitude, but he didn’t expect him to really not mind. There were too many surprises tonight, he almost thought it was all a dream.
The dream clearly hadn’t ended yet. Shi Sheng’s hand cautiously moved downward.
“What are you doing?” In the darkness, Lu Lin keenly caught his hand.
“I’m afraid you’ll feel uncomfortable holding it in, I can help you with my hand, really,” Shi Sheng answered sincerely, “but, I’ve only practiced this technique on myself, so it might not be that great.”
Lu Lin stiffened.
In the darkness, pants were half-removed with rustling sounds, and soon, someone’s suppressed gasps were heard, quietly rising in the silent night.
