Chapter 12: Manor Level 12
On the Star Federation’s administrative flagship “Unreachable Watch,” the “Blue Star Destruction” proposal, submitted by Deputy Commander Ji Wen, is currently being voted on. Representatives from over three thousand member states of the Star Federation are present.
Before the vote, Ji Wen gave a speech, saying, “The ‘Xi Slayers Plan’ is visibly doomed to failure. He Xi’s divine power is growing, and once he breaks free, the universe will be in danger. Commander Luo Ling refuses to listen to advice and insists on going her own way. Therefore, I have to propose this bill, so that all member states can decide whether to immediately destroy Blue Star.”
Luo Ling countered, stating that destroying Blue Star in ten thousand years was the dying wish of the Ancestor God. After all, Blue Star is the Ancestor God’s home planet, and it still holds precious organic lifeforms destroyed by the Zerg race. If Blue Star is destroyed, the universe will become barren, with no natural life to thrive.
Luo Ling’s words caused some representatives, who had long since given up on the Xi Slayers plan, to waver once again.
The Star Federation was formed after the rise of the Zerg race. The universe was originally divided into the Meto Empire, composed of silicon-based lifeforms, the Aiti Empire, composed of robot-led planets, the Ao Jian Alliance, composed of humans and beasts, and the Eve Alliance, composed of night clans and spirit clans.
The Meto Empire is led by metal beings, the Aiti Empire by robots, the Ao Jian Alliance by humans and beasts, and the Eve Alliance by night clans and spirit clans.
These four major organizations initially governed themselves, interfering with each other as little as possible. After the rise of the Zerg race, the universe was ravaged by constant wars. Planetary losses were devastating, especially for the Ao Jian Alliance, which was nearly wiped out.
In order to unite the front, the Ancestor God led the four organizations to form the Universal Star Federation, with a Federation Commander, Deputy Commander, fleet captains, and other positions, calling on everyone to unite against the common enemy.
Now, the Zerg race had been wiped out for over ten thousand years, and the once unified four organizations were long past reconciliation. They just wanted to quickly resolve the Blue Star Demon King crisis and then return to their own lives.
Especially the planets governed by silicon-based lifeforms, who were tired of being led by Luo Ling, a carbon-based lifeform. They only listened to the orders of Deputy Commander Ji Wen, who, like them, was a silicon-based lifeform.
For the silicon-based lifeforms, the potential death of all organic life in the universe was of no concern to them. In fact, it would highlight their superiority. Thus, Ji Wen had long advocated for the direct destruction of Blue Star.
However, there were still many carbon-based lifeforms present, and their genes naturally inclined them towards the organic world. The plants on Blue Star were their final hope.
Once the speeches were over, the voting began.
According to the rules, as the Federation Commander, Luo Ling’s vote counted as three votes. This meant that as long as three carbon-based lifeform representatives agreed to destroy Blue Star immediately, the proposal would pass.
Ji Wen was already confident in his success. After all, the antics of the Xi Slayers on the live stream, including Number 5, Number 1, and others, had caused disgust among most people.
He raised his head and looked with a smirk at the woman sitting beside him.
Luo Ling. In the past, he had nearly been usurped by his own brother just to be with this woman. Yet, she chose to be with that fake God-slayer instead.
At that moment, he had sworn that he would personally kill He Xi in front of her, making her regret it for the rest of her life.
Luo Ling leaned back in her chair, her waist-length deep purple hair casually spread out, her red lips alluring, and the slight upward curve of her eyes enchanting, filled with a disdainful elegance. Her emerald green eyes shimmered with a high and aloof arrogance.
Even the most conservative Federation officer uniform was made to look sexy and noble on her, and anyone who saw her couldn’t help but praise her as the most beautiful woman in the universe.
Without even looking at him, Luo Ling casually pressed the “Oppose” button.
After the vote, the tally officer checked for discrepancies or malfunctions and announced the results: 1482 votes in favor, 1520 votes against.
At this moment, Ji Wen nearly lost his balance. This was impossible. Even if all the carbon-based lifeform representatives opposed it, there couldn’t be so many votes. What this meant was that there were even a few dozen silicon-based lifeform representatives who didn’t want to destroy Blue Star?
Ji Wen’s face alternated between red and pale as he controlled his emotions for a long time.
He took a deep breath and turned to Luo Ling. “Fine. Since the Star Federation disagrees, I have nothing more to say. However, as the Federation Commander, you are still emotionally attached to the murderer of the Ancestor God. For ten thousand years, all the Xi Slayers sent to Blue Star have been useless. You have disregarded the safety of the universe for personal gain. Such behavior has already violated the laws of the universe. From now on, I will lead the Meto Empire and Aiti Empire to sever ties with the Star Federation. You no longer have command over us.”
Once these words were spoken, the carbon-based representatives in the audience erupted into an uproar, while the silicon-based representatives, who had already received the news, remained silent.
Luo Ling only coldly smiled and said, “The Star Federation was merely a temporary decision made during a cosmic crisis. If you wish to leave, I do not oppose it. However, Blue Star will now fall under the jurisdiction of my Carbon-Based Alliance. If you dare harm a single blade of grass or a tree on Blue Star, I, Luo Ling, swear to pursue it to the death.”
The two exchanged glances, and the audience fell into complete silence, feeling as if there was an electric current crackling between their eyes.
In the end, Ji Wen slightly curled his lips and, with a smile that was more mockery than warmth, said, “Fine, let’s wait and see!”
That night, Ai Ling woke up in the middle of the night feeling thirsty and went out to get some water. As soon as she stepped out of the hut, she sensed something was different.
In the past, as long as it wasn’t raining, the night sky would be vast and starry, with so many stars clustered together, tangled in a way that was impossible to untangle.
However, although the stars were numerous, their brightness was relatively weak. Every time she wanted to go out at night to do something, it was always pitch dark, which was very inconvenient.
For this reason, Ai Ling had complained to He Xi, saying that the fruits of this planet were not delicious because there was no light at night.
He Xi had exposed her back then, saying, “You’re just scared of the dark. What do the fruits have to do with it? If you want some light at night, just say so instead of beating around the bush!”
Ai Ling had been hoping that he would find something that could light up the night, but after waiting so long, he must have forgotten about it.
Tonight, as soon as Ai Ling stepped out of the hut, she felt that something was wrong. The stars she could see were much fewer, scattered and sparse, yet the night sky suddenly became three times brighter.
She looked at her long reflection, took a deep breath, and then suddenly turned around… My God!
The moon, it was really the moon—so huge, so large, so incredibly large, ten times bigger than the moon of Earth.
Ai Ling didn’t even know how to describe it. It was like a scene from a sci-fi movie, with a massive planet looming close by, the bright light making the dark sky appear even deeper and more profound. The feeling was nothing short of shocking, majestic, and miraculous!
She almost cried out in awe, calling out to the little fluffy ball, “Oh my God, Fluffy Ball, there’s suddenly a full moon in the sky! It’s so big! How can there be such a large moon? It’s beautiful! You have to look at it, I’m almost crying from its beauty!”
Fluffy Ball’s expression instantly changed. This… wasn’t that the Chief Guardian battleship of the Carbon-Based Alliance? It had always been stationed at the most dangerous parts of the cosmic border. Why had it come here today?
This is bad! Was it because they thought the current batch of Xi Slayers were too weak and had given up hope, preparing to destroy Blue Star immediately?
Fluffy Ball was scared out of its wits, grabbing Ai Ling and saying, “Number 5, you must go kill the Demon King right away. If we don’t destroy Blue Star now, it might be blown up. The hundred years I mentioned before… they might not be able to wait that long.”
Ai Ling was also startled, “No way, how do you know? Did they send you a message?”
Fluffy Ball shook its head, “No, I’m just guessing, because… because this huge moon suddenly appeared, and that’s just not normal.”
The current rules of the Xi Slayer system stated that they could not mention anything about other planets in the universe to the Xi Slayers, nor could they expose any identity information regarding He Xi, so it couldn’t explain it.
Ai Ling shot it a sideways glance, “You’re overthinking it. Let me tell you, our Earth also has a moon, but it’s much smaller than this one. They’re all natural satellites of planets, understand? Stop making wild guesses!”
Fluffy Ball was anxious, “Then how do you explain the sudden appearance of such a big moon? I’m sure it’s not some natural satellite. It’s definitely a warning for the destruction of Blue Star…”
Ai Ling gave its little head a playful tap, “Warning? If it were a warning, wouldn’t they send an interstellar battleship? This is the moon, a natural planet. It’s just a bit smaller. Hehehe. As for how it suddenly appeared, I think either He Xi did something or it’s some kind of cosmic miracle! Either way, Blue Star now has a companion. How nice! If it were a little smaller, I’d almost think this place was Earth… What a shame!”
Fluffy Ball wanted to argue but then saw Ai Ling, lost in thought, starting to recite poetry with an entranced expression.
“The wild expanse, the sky low and the trees tall, the river is clear, and the moon is near. Blowing out the lamp, the window grows brighter, and the moonlight shines on the snow of the whole day. Who first saw the moon by the riverbank? When did the river moon first shine on people? Generations of life are endless, and the river moon looks the same every year… Ah, the moon… it’s really so bright, so bright!”
Fluffy Ball: “…”
That night, Ai Ling held a seashell, gazed at the bright moon, recited poetry, and sang, babbling endlessly until dawn.
【”Blue Star Destruction” plan has failed, the Star Federation has disbanded, what are your thoughts?】
【The thought is that Number 5 is amazing, single-handedly destroyed the entire Star Federation.】
【What does Number 5 have to do with it? Wasn’t it the planets themselves who voted?】
【Rumor has it that those few silicon-based representatives who voted against were all Number 5’s fans. They said they wanted to see what interesting things she could stir up next, and they were really looking forward to it.】
【Number 5 actually has fans? Just kill me already!】
【What’s the matter? Just because we’re silent doesn’t mean we don’t exist, right?】
【Damn, I’m done for.】
【Don’t celebrate too early. Commander Ji Wen has already started moving, Blue Star will definitely be destroyed within three years!】
【Bring it on. Haven’t you seen our battleship? You think you’re the ancestor god or something, you fool!】
【It’s over, is a war starting again?】
【It’s okay, we still have three years, Number 5, you’ve got to work hard!】
On the battleship, Luo Ling looked towards Blue Star, her deep green eyes filled with mixed feelings of love, hate, and a deep sense of pain.
Ten thousand years, this was the closest she had ever been to him. During the days of gazing at him from afar, she had often been on the brink of collapse.
But, what did it matter how close she got to him? Could they ever go back to the way things were? What did it matter if she had shut him away for ten thousand years? In the end, they still couldn’t avoid meeting each other in battle! If she had known this would happen, she should have killed him from the very beginning…
Luo Ling’s fingers, clenched into a fist, dug deeply into her flesh.
At this moment, He Xi, alone and flying towards the extreme northern region, stood on the snow-covered mountain peak against the cold wind, his gaze also fixed on the bright moon.
The wild wind flipped his white robes and lifted his jet-black hair, but it couldn’t disturb his deep, cold, and dark eyes.
She’s here!

↑1 | The spring wind has made the southern riverbanks green again, but the speaker is still far away from home, wondering when the bright moon will shine on them as they return. In short, it’s about missing home — seeing how nature (spring, green riverbanks, the moon) stays beautiful year after year, but the speaker is still longing to go back. It’s full of homesickness and a bit of sadness. |
