Chapter 2: Entering the Wrong Room, Sleeping with the Wrong Man
The man’s gaze made Tang Liyue hold her breath in fear, not daring to move.
His eyes were already scanning her up and down as she lay in his arms.
Before Tang Liyue had come upstairs, her wedding dress had already been removed. At this moment, all that could be seen was a breathtakingly fair and delicate sight.
The man’s eyes darkened further, his drunken gaze filled with an intense possessiveness.
Being stared at like this, Tang Liyue finally snapped back to her senses.
“You… let me go,” she stammered, trying to break free from the man’s grip.
But he grabbed her chin.
Before Tang Liyue could react, his thumb suddenly pressed against her lips.
She froze for a moment, then quickly struggled to escape.
However, the more she struggled, the more the man’s brows furrowed, his entire presence exuding an aura that brooked no defiance.
He wrapped an arm around her waist, effortlessly flipping their positions and pinning her beneath him.
Then, he spoke.
His voice was low, hoarse, and filled with desire.
He said, “You climbed into my bed, and now you’re struggling? Adults should take responsibility for their actions, understand?”
Before she could explain or protest, he silenced her with his lips.
The moon hung high, and the wind blew freely.
This night was destined to be anything but ordinary…
At dawn, as the first light of day broke.
Tang Liyue woke up, letting out a soft whimper from the soreness in her body before she even opened her eyes.
She turned slightly, only to feel an arm wrapped around her waist.
Last night…
Her eyes flew open, sleep vanishing instantly as she became fully alert.
Looking at the man beside her, memories of every moment and every frame from last night flooded her mind.
The aching bones in her body reminded her of the man beside her, a man with monstrous stamina like a beast!
And he was not the disabled young master, Yu Minchuan, whom she was supposed to marry!
Because he was not disabled at all!
If he wasn’t Yu Minchuan, then who was he?
Did she not only enter the wrong room but also… do something she shouldn’t have with this man?
A vague sense of unease crept over Tang Liyue. It wasn’t just about entering the wrong room, something felt off about last night.
She had resisted at first, but as she struggled, her strength had gradually faded…
And worse, she had started to enjoy his touch.
This is unreasonable. It shouldn’t have happened.
Everything had spiraled out of control, leaving Tang Liyue with the unsettling feeling of falling into a massive trap.
But now was not the time to dwell on it, her only thought was to escape as soon as possible.
Holding her breath, she carefully moved the man’s arm off her body and slipped out of bed. She picked up the only two pitiful pieces of intimate clothing from the floor, turning her back to the bed as she put them on.
There was no way she could leave the room in just her underwear. Left with no choice, she grabbed the man’s shirt from the floor and put it on.
Luckily, his shirt was oversized, just enough to cover her hips and prevent her from exposing too much.
Dressed, she tiptoed toward the door, unaware that the man on the bed had already woken up.
His lazy, drowsy gaze followed her every movement with keen interest, watching her get dressed from start to finish.
When he saw her push open the door to leave, he made no move to stop her.
Only after the door clicked shut did he let out a low chuckle.
“Interesting.”
—
At the doorway, Tang Liyue hesitated, shifting anxiously on her feet.
What should she do now?
Where could she go?
The Tang family had accepted the bride price from Yu Minchuan’s family, and the man she was supposed to marry was Yu Minchuan.
She had never wanted to marry anyone in the first place, but regardless of her feelings, she was now, in name, “Yu Minchuan’s wife.”
Yet not only had she failed to meet him last night, she had ended up in bed with another man!
With the Yu family’s power, if they ever found out… she would be doomed.
Her eyes burned red as she crouched in the corner, her face drained of color.
“Why? Why was fate so cruel to her?”
The Yu family had originally chosen her younger sister, Tang Xue Yao. But their parents refused to let Tang Xue Yao marry a disabled man. They tricked Yu Minchuan’s mother, saying that Tang Xue Yao was physically weak and unable to bear children, forcing Tang Liyue to take her place instead.
She hadn’t wanted this marriage either, but what choice did she have?
The only person in the Tang family who had ever cared for her, Aunt Qiu, had suddenly fallen ill. Diagnosed with a tumor, she needed an expensive surgery to survive.
The Tang family was already on the verge of bankruptcy, how could they possibly spend a fortune to save a mere servant?
With no other options, Tang Liyue had gritted her teeth and agreed to this business transaction of a marriage in exchange for her parents covering Aunt Qiu’s medical expenses.
Her plan had been simple: once she met Yu Minchuan, she would patiently explain that she had been forced into this. She would beg him not to make her his wife, she would even be willing to serve him as a maid if that was what it took.
But she hadn’t even had the chance to meet him before her purity had been stolen by another man…
The more she thought about it, the more wronged she felt.
She couldn’t hold it in anymore.
Burying her face in her hands, she cried.
Even then, she didn’t dare make a sound, biting her lip as silent tears streamed down her face.
Just then, the sound of a door opening echoed from ahead, Followed by the creaking of a wheelchair moving across the floor.
Tang Liyue froze.
She hurriedly wiped her tears away and looked up in panic.
Tear-filled almond-shaped eyes met a pair of gentle, star-like ones.
In that moment, time seemed to freeze.
Tang Liyue, with reddened eyes, stared unblinkingly at the noble young master in the wheelchair.
He was Yu Minchuan.
His appearance was perfectly timed, almost too perfect.
Yu Minchuan was also looking at Tang Liyue.
He took in her tear-streaked eyes, the mottled marks on her neck, the oversized men’s shirt she wore.
Yet, he didn’t seem surprised by her disheveled state. As if… he had expected this all along.
The heavy silence was broken by his voice.
“You are Liyue, aren’t you?” he asked.
Tang Liyue pressed her lips together and lowered her head, letting out a quiet “Mm.”
Yu Minchuan wheeled himself closer and asked softly, “Did you… just come out of my second uncle’s room?”
Tang Liyue’s eyes widened in shock, her heart skipping a beat at the words “Second Uncle.”
Last night’s man… was Yu Minchuan’s second uncle?!
Yu Mo Yuan, the infamous and ruthless corporate overlord who had taken the business world by storm at only twenty-eight?
The same man rumored to have orchestrated a car accident that killed his own elder brother and left his nephew crippled… all for the sake of the family inheritance?
Seeing Tang Liyue’s reaction, Yu Minchuan had his answer.
He sighed. “I’m sorry. I knew you were forced into this marriage, yet I still failed to protect you.”
“My legs were in pain last night, so I took sleeping pills and fell into a deep sleep early… I had no idea that because of that, you would end up with my second uncle…”
He couldn’t even bring himself to finish the sentence.
Tang Liyue bit her lip, unable to say a single word.
“What was she supposed to say? What could she say?”
Should she admit that she had entered the wrong room and had slept with his uncle by mistake?
Just then, footsteps echoed from the staircase below, someone was coming upstairs.
Tang Liyue’s face instantly went pale.
She was wearing Yu Mo Yuan’s shirt, her body still bearing undeniable traces of last night.
If someone saw her like this, there would be no way to explain herself.
Sensing her panic, Yu Minchuan pulled the blanket off his lap and handed it to her.
“Drape this over yourself,” he said. “And stand behind me.”
