Chapter 26: Seducing Yu Mo Yuan
That night.
In the villa of Yu Minchuan.
Zhao Lian Er had taken a shower early and changed into a cool, spaghetti-strapped nightgown, waiting in the living room downstairs.
She posed seductively in an S-shape, pretending to watch TV.
When Tang Liyue walked downstairs holding a water cup, she saw this alluring scene. Tang Liyue paused for a moment, pretended not to notice, and entered the kitchen.
“Hey, are you blind? Don’t you know to greet me?” Zhao Lian Er called out.
In the kitchen, Tang Liyue stuck her head out. “Hello, Miss Zhao.”
After speaking, she continued filling her cup with water.
Zhao Lian Er huffed. “Do you think this outfit looks good on me? Do you think Second Master will like it?”
Zhao Lian Er was so unashamed, as if making sure everyone knew she was trying to seduce Yu Mo Yuan.
Tang Liyue walked out holding the water cup, clearly not wanting to answer Zhao Lian Er’s question.
However, Zhao Lian Er relentlessly threw a cushion at her. “I’m asking you a question! Don’t ignore me! Do you believe I’ll slap you?”
Tang Liyue sighed helplessly and turned to face Zhao Lian Er.
“Miss Zhao, you’re beautiful, so everything you wear looks good. As for whether Second Master will like it, I really don’t know. I’ve only been in the Yu family for three or four days.”
For some reason, Tang Liyue felt a strange resistance to answering this question.
Ever since she learned that Zhao Lian Er’s purpose for moving in was Yu Mo Yuan, she’d felt an inexplicable discomfort in her heart.
Zhao Lian Er arrogantly lifted her chin. “Well, of course. Someone like you, from a small family, can’t compare to me, a phoenix. Second Master probably wouldn’t even bother to look at you. Now, go upstairs quickly. Don’t come down and waste my time.”
Tang Liyue’s eyelashes fluttered, and her hand, which held the water cup, tightened.
But she said nothing and turned to go upstairs.
Back in her room, Tang Liyue sat down at her small desk and drank water in small sips.
Several questions involuntarily popped into her head.
How would Yu Mo Yuan react if he saw such a seductive scene?
Was Yu Mo Yuan’s refusal to switch places earlier to stand up for her, or was it just to go against Zhao Zhiliu?
When would Yu Mo Yuan return?
Hmm?
What was she even thinking about Yu Mo Yuan?
Tang Liyue suddenly snapped out of it and shook her head vigorously to push those thoughts away, clearing Yu Mo Yuan’s image from her mind.
She then covered her red face with her hand and stamped her foot in disbelief.
“Tang Liyue, what are you doing? What kind of nonsense are you thinking?”
“Is this something you should be thinking about? What does Yu Mo Yuan have to do with you?”
She whispered those words to wake herself up and slowly began to calm down.
But could she really calm down?
But why does she still keep trying to listen for sounds downstairs?
Tang Liyue took a deep breath, put on her headphones, then lay down on the bed and covered her head with the blanket.
Sleep, sleep, don’t think about anything.
The sooner she sleeps, the better her mood will be tomorrow to face her first job.
At this point in her life, nothing was more important than earning money through work.
Midnight.
Zhao Lian Er was yawning incessantly, her seductive posture now turning awkward from exhaustion.
3 AM.
Zhao Lian Er was struggling to keep her eyes open, swatting at the mosquitoes on her legs while muttering, “Why hasn’t Second Master come back yet?”
4 AM.
Zhao Lian Er had fallen asleep on the sofa.
5 AM.
The sound of her snoring was deafening.
7 AM.
Zhao Lian Er was woken by the maid.
“Miss Zhao, why are you sleeping here?”
Zhao Lian Er rubbed her eyes, “What time is it?”
The maid replied, “It’s 7 o’clock.”
“Ah?” Zhao Lian Er pouted, “So Second Master hasn’t come back all night?”
The maid was momentarily stunned and glanced at Zhao Lian Er’s revealing nightgown.
Could it be… Miss Zhao is trying to seduce Second Master?
The maid didn’t dare to say much and simply responded, “The driver said Second Master went on a business trip yesterday and will probably be gone for half a month.”
“Ah? A business trip? Gone for half a month!” Zhao Lian Er was completely upset, feeling like she had wasted a whole night waiting.
She got angry, and in her frustration, everything about the maid annoyed her.
“It’s all your fault! Why didn’t you tell me Second Master was on a business trip!” Zhao Lian Er shouted, then slapped the maid.
The maid, stunned by the slap, stammered, “But… you didn’t tell me to inform you?”
The information about Yu Mo Yuan’s business trip had been directly announced in the work group by the driver, so all the servants, nannies, and gardeners knew.
For the master, someone usually notifies them right away.
But Zhao Lian Er had just arrived, and she was an outsider. There was no reason for them to tell her.
Just like how no one had informed Tang Liyue.
Zhao Lian Er, who was used to being spoiled, didn’t care about whether she was right or wrong. She slapped the maid again, harder this time.
“Now I’m telling you, from now on, you must immediately inform me of every movement of Second Master! And! You must not let anyone else know! Otherwise, my aunt won’t let you off!”
Zhao Lian Er brought up Zhao Zhiliu, which made the maid even more fearful and reluctant to speak up.
Zhao Zhiliu was the one person in the entire Yu family that could not be offended.
The maid could only nod, “I understand…”
Zhao Lian Er was satisfied with this and snorted, swaying her hips as she went upstairs.
The maid, holding her swollen face, swallowed her grievances and continued cleaning.
Tang Liyue had woken up early today. After changing into her clothes, she went downstairs.
Seeing that Zhao Lian Er was no longer in the living room, Tang Liyue paused for a moment.
She shook her head, quickly stopping herself from having any unnecessary thoughts, and walked straight into the kitchen.
The Yu family’s breakfast was delicious, but the atmosphere was too intimidating, making it “hard to swallow.”
Tang Liyue could never eat well at breakfast, which often caused her stomach pains.
To avoid her stomach condition flaring up on her first day at work, Tang Liyue woke up earlier today to boil a few eggs to settle her stomach.
In the kitchen, after boiling the water, Tang Liyue put the eggs in the pot, also boiling two for Yu Minchuan.
As the eggs were almost ready, she heard footsteps behind her.
Tang Liyue turned around and saw the maid with a swollen cheek.
Tang Liyue froze for a moment.
The maid hadn’t expected anyone to be in the kitchen, so she quickly tidied her hair, trying to hide her swollen cheek with her bangs.
The maid spoke, “Young Madam, I need to clean up the kitchen.”
“Ah, okay.” Tang Liyue quickly turned off the heat and took the eggs out, placing them aside.
Tang Liyue asked, “Should I help you?”
The maid quickly shook her head, “No, no, it’s our job.”
Although Zhao Zhiliu had instructed the staff to treat Tang Liyue like a servant, over the past few days, with Yu Mo Yuan and Yu Minchuan stepping in for her, the servants had become wary of offending Tang Liyue.
Seeing that the maid refused, Tang Liyue didn’t insist.
After a brief hesitation, Tang Liyue left one warm egg on the table and softly said, “Roll the egg white on your face to reduce the swelling. That way, you won’t have bruises left.”
When she was little, she used to get slapped often, and every time the swelling went down, her face was covered in purple and blue marks.
Later, Aunt Qiu helped her roll a boiled egg on her face to relieve the swelling, which prevented bruising.
The maid looked at the egg on the table, then glanced at Tang Liyue’s retreating figure, and couldn’t help but think to herself.
People really are different…
Some come from noble backgrounds but act arrogantly and unreasonably.
Some, despite being trapped in a difficult situation, are still willing to show kindness.
