Chapter 28: Turns Out, She’s Working as Yu Mo Yuan’s Assistant
9:00 AM.
At the front desk of the Yu Corporation building.
Tang Liyue politely handed her ID card to the receptionist, “Hello, I’m here to start my job.”
The receptionist took a glance at Tang Liyue’s ID card, and her eyes immediately widened. “You’re Tang Liyue?”
“Huh? Yes, I am.”
Tang Liyue didn’t quite understand why the receptionist was reacting so dramatically.
The receptionist quickly returned the ID card to Tang Liyue and said, “Assistant Tang, please head straight up to the 17th floor and look for the administrative supervisor. He will help you with your onboarding process.”
“Okay, thank you.”
Tang Liyue went upstairs. As soon as the elevator doors closed, the receptionist took out her phone and reported the situation in an internal gossip group.
[Receptionist Meow Chan]: She’s here! She’s a total beauty!]
[PR Department Xiao De Zhi]: Could she not be a beauty? How else could she be hired as the assistant to the Second Master, if not for being stunning?]
[Publicity Department Xiao Ran Zi]: Just saying, could she be the future lady boss?]
17th Floor.
Administrative Supervisor’s Office.
Administrative Supervisor Liu Jiang He greeted Tang Liyue with a smile and said, “Assistant Tang, your onboarding procedures are all set. Let me go over a few important details with you.”
Tang Liyue quickly nodded, “Sure, Supervisor Liu, please go ahead.”
“Your position is the CEO’s assistant. As mentioned in the onboarding email, your monthly salary is 50,000, and your year-end bonus should be between 50,000 and 100,000.”
“Your work schedule will differ from regular positions. Your workday starts at 9:30 AM, and your end time is flexible. You’ll leave when the CEO leaves.”
“There are no weekends, and even on public holidays, you’ll generally still have to work. However, overtime during holidays is paid at triple the rate.”
“Your tasks include handling the CEO’s daily schedule, issuing documents, taking meeting minutes, and additionally, managing his clothing and lunches.”
“It’s actually quite simple, basically, you’ll do whatever the CEO asks you to do.”
Liu Jiang He added, “Also, the CEO travels for business almost every month, and when he does, you’ll need to accompany him. Occasionally, you’ll also act as his translator.”
“Okay.” Tang Liyue didn’t mind the translation part as she was fluent in foreign languages.
But the business trips…
Tang Liyue asked, “Supervisor Liu, are the business trips mandatory?”
“Yes,” Liu Jiang He replied.
Tang Liyue could only nod. “Alright, I understand.”
Liu Jiang He asked, “Are you sure there are no issues? If not, I’ll print the labor contract.”
“Mm, no issues.”
Overall, the job seemed manageable. She was okay with working overtime during holidays.
Although the job sounded demanding, the high salary of 50,000 per month made it reasonable, so a bit of hardship and tiredness were to be expected.
The business trips were a bit of a concern, but she would find a way to manage.
After signing the labor contract, Liu Jiang He handed her the work ID card.
“Alright, you can head straight to the top floor to find Assistant Yuan. For the next month, Assistant Yuan will personally guide you.”
“Okay, thank you, Supervisor Liu.”
Liu Jiang He smiled, “No problem, go ahead.”
After seeing Tang Liyue off, Liu Jiang He took out his phone and opened the gossip group.
[Admin Supervisor Zi]: Elegant, gentle, quiet, and obedient, she’s definitely not the kind of woman who clings to men and is a seductive troublemaker.]
[PR Department Xiao De Zhi]: Is she single? Can I pursue her?]
[Admin Supervisor Zi]: Are you thick-headed? Can you take a beating?]
[PR Department Xiao De Zhi]: I’m sorry! I’m backing off!]
The gossip group was buzzing with excitement, everyone very intrigued by Tang Liyue.
Meanwhile, the subject of the gossip, Tang Liyue, had no idea what was happening in the group.
She had just arrived at the top floor, feeling nervous as she stepped out of the elevator.
As soon as Tang Liyue walked out of the elevator, she saw a man in a white suit with long, enchanting hair.
This man was, of course, Yuan Suo.
Yuan Suo was also sizing up Tang Liyue.
From Yuan Suo’s experienced eye, Tang Liyue wasn’t the type to turn heads at first glance. She had a more subtle, demure charm, the kind of beauty that grew on you.
Though not striking at first, her features were particularly easy on the eyes.
Especially her round almond eyes, which appeared so pure and innocent.
Tang Liyue was the first to react, politely bowing. “Hello, are you Assistant Yuan?”
Yuan Suo smirked, showing a mischievous grin, “That’s me.”
“Hello, Assistant Yuan. My name is Tang Liyue. I’m here to start my job.”
“I know. I’ve been deliberately waiting for you.”
“Ah, oh…”
Yuan Suo’s gaze was too intense, and his smile was so flirtatious that it made Tang Liyue a bit flustered.
“Don’t be scared. I’m a nice guy,” Yuan Suo chuckled, snapping his fingers. “Come with me. I’ll give you a quick tour of the top floor.”
“Okay.”
Yuan Suo walked ahead, with Tang Liyue following behind him.
As they walked, Yuan Suo spoke, “The top floor is the Second Master’s territory. Until today, no one from the company besides me has stepped foot here, but now you’re the third person.”
Second Master?
Could the “Second Master” Yuan Suo referred to be Yu Mo Yuan?
Yu Mo Yuan is the CEO?!
Tang Liyue suddenly stopped in her tracks, even instinctively taking a step back.
Yuan Suo continued introducing, “On the left here is the Second Master’s temporary wardrobe. There are always five suits ready for him to change into.”
“To the right is the break room. The Second Master doesn’t drink coffee, he only has hot tea or pure ice water.”
“And here is the CEO’s office.”
“Next is the assistant’s office. You can go ahead and check out your workspace now.”
After introducing the entire top floor, Yuan Suo turned to look at Tang Liyue.
And immediately, he was stunned.
“Assistant Tang, what are you doing?”
Tang Liyue wasn’t following him, instead, she had walked to the elevator and was pressing the down button frantically.
Tang Liyue turned around, her smile stiff, “Assistant Yuan, is it still possible to refuse the job now?”
When she heard the words “Second Master” from Yuan Suo, Tang Liyue froze.
She knew that Yu Mo Yuan was the one in charge of the Yu Corporation, but she didn’t realize he was the CEO! She thought he was something like the chairman!
Now it made sense.
The CEO was Yu Mo Yuan, and she was about to be his assistant!
She was doomed…
Seeing Tang Liyue’s expression, Yuan Suo’s eyes filled with curiosity. “Assistant Tang, are you scared of the Second Master?”
Tang Liyue forced a smile that was more painful than crying. “Yes, I’m scared…”
“Scared of what? The Second Master is actually a nice person.”
“The Second Master you’re talking about… is it Yu Mo Yuan?”
“Yep, of course.”
Tang Liyue pressed the elevator button again. “Well… maybe it’s better if we pretend I never came here…”
Yuan Suo chuckled. “Is the 50,000 monthly salary too little?”
Yuan Suo’s words made Tang Liyue hesitate.
That’s right, 50,000 a month.
Where else could she find such a high-paying job if she didn’t take this one?
But… was it really okay to be Yu Mo Yuan’s assistant?
Seeing that Tang Liyue was wavering, Yuan Suo continued, “Anyway, the Second Master is on a business trip and won’t be back for half a month. You can take the next two weeks to adjust. If by then you still can’t accept it, you can leave anytime.”
Tang Liyue didn’t respond, her mind torn in turmoil.
Yuan Suo didn’t give her time to think. He waved his hand and said, “Come on, let me show you the workspace I’ve prepared for you.”
He walked into the assistant’s office.
Tang Liyue stood still, endlessly debating in her mind whether she should stay or leave.
It wasn’t until the elevator “dinged” and reached the top floor that she snapped back to reality.
The elevator door opened, and the assistant office door was also wide open.
Two doors, two paths.
Tang Liyue’s feet shifted, swaying between the two options. In the end, she walked toward the assistant’s office.
She needed the money, she needed this high-paying job.
So, no matter who the CEO was, she had to accept it, and she must accept it.
