Chapter 29: Pinning Yu Mo Yuan’s WeChat to the Top
The job of a CEO assistant isn’t particularly difficult, but it is quite tedious.
In just one morning, Tang Liyue had already added many executives’ contact information.
If the executives needed to contact Yu Mo Yuan, they would have to go through Tang Liyue to arrange it.
Just like now, the finance department needed Yu Mo Yuan to approve a business expense online, and Tang Liyue had to remind him.
Tang Liyue didn’t have Yu Mo Yuan’s contact details.
Yuan Suo then took Tang Liyue’s phone and helped her add Yu Mo Yuan’s phone number, WeChat, and email.
That wasn’t enough. Yuan Suo also manually pinned all of Yu Mo Yuan’s contact information to the top of the list.
“Do you need to pin them?” Tang Liyue asked.
“Of course,” he answered. “If you don’t pin them, how will you handle work promptly?”
Tang Liyue bit her lip, not daring to say much.
She didn’t want to add Yu Mo Yuan’s contact information, but unfortunately, she was his assistant.
Since she had decided to stay and do the job, she had to take it seriously.
Straightening her back, Tang Liyue spoke up, “So, what should I do now?”
Yuan Suo opened the internal staff email.
“During working hours, you need to keep an eye on your email. There will be documents from various departments that need approval, and if something urgent comes up, you need to remind the Second Master immediately.”
“For things like meeting requests and appointments, you need to arrange the meeting times and rooms according to the Second Master’s schedule.”
Tang Liyue nodded.
Yuan Suo continued, “Now you can ask the Second Master where he is and when he will be back.”
Tang Liyue’s expression stiffened visibly.
She didn’t want to ask!
But she knew she had no choice.
It’s just work, just work. Yu Mo Yuan isn’t that scary.
Tang Liyue took out her phone and opened WeChat.
【Tang Liyue: Second Master, where are you? When will you be back?】
After sending the message, Tang Liyue visibly relaxed.
But before she could put her phone down, it vibrated in her hand.
Tang Liyue’s heart skipped a beat, and she almost dropped the phone.
It was a quick reply from Yu Mo Yuan.
A simple question mark.
【Yu Mo Yuan: ?】
Tang Liyue looked at Yuan Suo helplessly. “Assistant Yuan, what should I say now?”
Yuan Suo sat on the chair next to her, arms crossed, watching Tang Liyue with interest. His eyes held a hint of curiosity and teasing.
Instead of answering her question, Yuan Suo raised an eyebrow and asked, “Assistant Tang, you seem quite afraid of the Second Master? Have you two met?”
“Well, a little bit. I’m currently living in the Yu family household.”
“What!”
“What did you just say? Where do you live?”
Yuan Suo’s sudden raised voice startled Tang Liyue.
Tang Liyue repeated herself, “I live in the Yu family household.”
Yuan Suo suddenly understood.
Earlier, Yuan Suo had been puzzled as to why Yu Mo Yuan had immediately decided on Tang Liyue after hearing her name. It turns out there was something personal going on, they lived under the same roof.
Could Tang Liyue be the heartless little cat Yu Mo Yuan had mentioned before? She seemed obedient enough.
But that didn’t make sense. Yu Mo Yuan wasn’t the type to quietly pursue women.
Yuan Suo leaned closer to Tang Liyue, his gaze inquisitive, “Assistant Tang, what’s your relationship with the Second Master?”
Tang Liyue awkwardly shook her head, “Sorry, it’s a personal matter. I can’t say.”
“Alright, I won’t pry,” Yuan Suo said with a smirk.
He thought to himself: If she won’t tell me, I’ll figure it out myself with my sharp eyes!
Yuan Suo stood up, “Alright, you can get back to work. I’m going out to grab some coffee.”
With that, Yuan Suo left.
The assistant office was now empty, with only Tang Liyue left behind.
Tang Liyue scratched her head in confusion and then shrugged, “So… what work am I supposed to handle?”
Oh right, she had to ask Yu Mo Yuan about his schedule.
Tang Liyue picked up her phone and opened the chat window with Yu Mo Yuan.
Looking at the cold, indifferent question mark, she reluctantly began to type a reply.
【Tang Liyue: Second Master, I’m your new assistant. In order to arrange the upcoming meetings, I need to know when you’ll be back.】
【Yu Mo Yuan: Who.】
Who?
Did he really have to be so cold and concise?
But since there were other people around, she couldn’t address him as “Uncle.” If Yu Mo Yuan didn’t recognize her, she could understand.
Still, understanding or not, Tang Liyue couldn’t help but huff at her phone in frustration.
After the huff, she finally typed her name.
【Tang Liyue: Uncle, it’s me, Tang Liyue.】
In the international waters, aboard a luxury cruise ship.
In a private tea room, two men in suits sat cross-legged on cushions.
One of them was Yu Mo Yuan, and the other was the owner of the cruise ship, Qin Shi An.
Qin Shi An was preparing tea when he noticed Yu Mo Yuan smiling at his phone. With some curiosity, he raised an eyebrow.
“Who has such charm to make you, of all people, smile so sweetly?”
Yu Mo Yuan looked up, “Me? Smile sweetly? You should see an eye doctor.”
Qin Shi An wasn’t bothered by Yu Mo Yuan’s sarcastic words and smiled as he refilled Yu Mo Yuan’s cup, “Although I might be exaggerating, if you look in the mirror, you’ll know that this expression is definitely not something you’d usually wear.”
Yu Mo Yuan took a sip of his tea, “I just came across something interesting.”
“Not in love, then?”
Yu Mo Yuan scoffed, “That timid, heartless fool of a woman, anyone who likes her is asking for trouble.”
Qin Shi An just smiled without saying anything.
Sometimes, people shouldn’t speak so definitively, because it always stings when they end up being proven wrong.
Qin Shi An wisely didn’t probe into Yu Mo Yuan’s personal matters and changed the subject. “We shipped out 10,000 units this time. According to the usual arrangement, 3,000 units are donated to ‘the Master,’ 2,000 are kept in reserve, and the remaining 5,000 are mostly bought. The Bear Country is willing to pay double the price for all of them.”
The “goods” Qin Shi An referred to were arms, and “the Master” referred to the country of Hua (China).
Yu Mo Yuan furrowed his brow. “Why is Bear Country being so bold? Didn’t they just recover from an economic crisis not long ago?”
“They say they’re planning to merge with the neighboring Deer Country.”
Deer Country was a small nation, but it was one of the wealthiest due to its abundant oil and mineral resources.
Bear Country was also a small nation, known for constantly waging wars to expand its territory.
Yu Mo Yuan spoke up, “We’re not selling. We don’t need the money.”
A single unit of goods was worth around 30,000-50,000, so 5,000 units wouldn’t even reach 200 million.
To Yu Mo Yuan and Qin Shi An, that wasn’t a significant amount of money.
The fact that they were able to do this business meant that it was tacitly allowed by various countries, but the unspoken rule was that it shouldn’t affect the larger peace.
Bear Country suddenly making such a bold move could very well signal a dangerous intent.
Therefore, this batch of goods, forget 5,000 units, they weren’t going to sell even one.
Qin Shi An continued, “Do you think Bear Country’s unusual behavior should be reported to the other parties?”
“No need. The issues we can detect, other countries likely know too. There’s no need for us to act as middlemen.”
“Understood.”
After discussing the shipment, Yu Mo Yuan moved directly to the main reason he was there.
“When is the auction, and are you sure there’s something I want?”
Qin Shi An nodded, “Seven days from now, I’m sure.”
