Chapter 3: The Silver-haired Girl
“Is this all the property? As expected, just some low-class adventurers. If I had known, I would have found some high-class adventurers to rob… traded.”
Upon arriving at the Holy City of Ailan, Leo separated from his team, weighing the heavy gold coins in his hand.
With the tenfold reward for defeating the Goblin Hero, Leo’s total assets reached a substantial fifteen gold coins, finally giving him some confidence.
He made his way towards the Nidlan Holy Academy.
The prosperity of the Holy City of Ailan is no less than that of the imperial capital; it is an important economic trade city of the empire, with developed maritime transport and merchants from various races.
The Nidlan Holy Academy is located at the northernmost part of the Holy City, on a small island surrounded by the sea.
It is connected to the Holy City of Eirland by a large bridge.
The bridge is heavily guarded, and without a pass, it is impossible to enter the Nidlan Holy Academy.
The pass is either an admission notice or a student ID.
Leo took out the admission notice, and after the guard confirmed it, he was allowed to pass.
People around him looked at him in surprise; after all, judging by his attire, he did not seem like a noble, and a commoner who could present an admission notice from Nidlan Academy was quite a rare sight.
“Get out of the way, you fools!”
Two black-scaled dragon horses pulled a carriage across the bridge, and a clear female voice came from inside.
“That’s the family crest of Duke Charid; inside must be the renowned Miss Delisa, known as the ‘Rose of the Empire.’”
“It is rumored that Miss Delisa is extraordinarily beautiful; I really want to see her in person.”
Passersby whispered and exchanged hushed words, trying to avoid being overheard by Delisa’s guards.
The guards on the bridge immediately parted the way, standing respectfully on either side.
Leo also tactfully stepped aside.
Through the lifted curtain of the carriage, Leo caught a glimpse of Delisa’s face.
A stunningly beautiful face, with purple pupils and light purple hair, truly breathtaking.
However, her gaze was too cold, with the corners of her eyes raised, sharp as a knife.
The typical villainess from stories must look like this; for some reason, this thought suddenly popped into Leo’s mind.
Delisa glanced at Leo’s rustic appearance and immediately averted her gaze, finding even a second glance distasteful.
There was no romantic scene as often depicted in stories; after Delisa passed, Leo also arrived at Nidlan Island.
Nidlan Island was vast, with tall and magnificent buildings nestled among the mountains and forests, seemingly blending into nature, making it hard to imagine this was a school.
Thanks to this, Leo got lost.
He kept walking forward, passing through the woods, into a new world.
The golden sunlight draped a thin veil over the colorful world; beneath the azure sky lay an endless expanse of blue sea.
Seagulls skimmed across the sky, tracing graceful arcs, their melodious calls ringing in his ears, accompanied by the sound of waves crashing against the rocks, creating a beautiful melody.
On the golden beach, a pure white girl walked barefoot, leaving a trail of footprints along the shore, with sand seeping through her delicate white toes, quickly swept away by the incoming waves.
Leo’s gaze was gradually drawn to the girl on the beach.
The girl had a face sculpted by the heavens, with exquisite and perfect features, stunningly beautiful, as if she did not belong to this world.
Her fair, tender skin looked as if it could be broken by a gentle touch, and her silver eyes were slightly moist, more beautiful than the finest gems, radiating a silver glow like the full moon at night, competing with the sun in the absence of the moon during the day, even the dazzling sun in the sky could not overshadow her brilliance.
Her bright silver hair shimmered under the light, silky and smooth, reaching her waist, cascading over her astonishing curves.
Dressed in a pure white robe, the girl’s slender and delicate figure was accentuated, highlighting her impressive bosom.
The priestess’s holy garment seemed tailor-made for the girl, outlining her perfect curves—beautiful, sacred, and pure, making one marvel at the Creator’s miracle.
A gentle breeze blew, the hem of her dress fluttering, as the girl lightly tucked her hair behind her ear, her serene expression resembling a princess stepping out of a fairy tale, making her seem untouchable.
This was a pure white girl, devoid of any filth.
Against the blue backdrop, the sun hung high, with white clouds dotting the sky; the stunning girl seemed to be the center of the world, seagulls soaring in the air, white waves rolling in, together forming a breathtaking picture.
So beautiful!
Compared to the girl, Delisa’s appearance was not lacking, but it was far less stunning.
“The quality of beauties at Nidlan Academy is so high!”
In a short time, Leo had already encountered two rare beauties.
“Pah! What am I thinking? I’m here to study; women will only affect my grades.”
The old man who taught him swordsmanship had said that women are like tigers; once captured by them, one would be devoured until nothing remains.
He must be cautious, more cautious.
The girl noticed Leo, her silver eyes momentarily stunned, then she broke into a smile.
In that instant, the world dimmed, and everything lost its color; the world seemed to be captivated.
……
“How embarrassing!”
Leo covered his face; he was actually mesmerized by a beauty, never had he felt so awkward.
Fortunately, he now knew the way to report to the academy.
Upon arriving at the reporting office, it was already crowded with people. By the time it was Leo’s turn, half an hour had passed.
The senior responsible for handling the procedures wore a polite smile, “Hello, please show your admission notice.”
None of the girls here were unattractive, especially when they smiled, radiating charm that made one unconsciously feel fondness; however, Leo, having seen beauties of a higher caliber, was immune.
After confirming everything was correct, the senior said, “Please pay the tuition fee, which is ten gold coins.”
Fortunately, thanks to his previous transaction with the adventurers, otherwise, he wouldn’t even be able to gather the tuition.
Ten gold coins were already very expensive; one gold coin was enough for an ordinary peasant family to live frugally for a year.
And ten gold coins was the tuition for a year at Nidlan Academy; no wonder it was a famous noble academy; he had to find a way to earn gold coins.
After paying, the senior added, “Please pay one hundred gold coins for accommodation and meals.”
“One hundred gold coins for accommodation and meals! Why is the accommodation fee so much more expensive than the tuition?”
Ridiculous! This is clearly robbery.
Now Leo only had five gold coins left; he had planned to use them for a semester, but it was not even one-tenth of the accommodation fee.
“Our accommodation and meal services at Nidlan Academy are top-notch, naturally not free, and ordinary people cannot enjoy them; even some low-class nobles cannot access this treatment.”
The senior explained with a smile, but the slight twitch of her facial muscles indicated she was losing patience.
“Can I pay later?” Leo asked weakly.
The senior’s expression changed, “You can, but the academy does not provide accommodation; you will have to find a way to solve it yourself.”
Leo did not expect to encounter such a big problem right after entering the academy; would he have to sleep on the streets in the future?
“Looking at your attire, you don’t seem like a noble; it’s quite rare for a commoner like you. Here’s a little advice: there’s a wooden house to the east of the island; in the past, there were commoner students who couldn’t afford accommodation fees living there. You can choose to go there; as for food, you shouldn’t starve.”
Although the senior’s attitude had changed drastically, she still did her job properly.
“This is your student ID. Alright, next!”
She returned to her previous professional smile.
“……”
Hah! Women!
