Chapter 32: Life is Indeed Good
“I’m so full!”
The roasted suckling pig was almost finished off by the two of them, and Leo’s belly was bulging, feeling a bit stuffed.
“It was so delicious, I’m satisfied!”
After finishing everything, Michelle was also very pleased, showing a happy expression.
Leo looked at her flat little belly and really couldn’t figure out where she stored all that food.
“Let’s sit and rest for a while.”
After eating, Leo indeed felt a bit stuffed and decided to rest a bit before leaving.
In contrast, Leo suspected that Michelle hadn’t eaten enough at all.
“Do you want to order some more?” Leo asked tentatively.
“No need, we can’t indulge too much.”
Michelle wiped her mouth with a napkin, “I didn’t notice before, but Senior Jin’s cooking seems to be even better than this restaurant’s.”
“Yeah, his cooking skills have reached chef level; I really don’t know how he practiced.”
Leo nodded in agreement.
“I’ll work hard too, next time I want you to be completely convinced.” Michelle said with determination.
Leo remained noncommittal, “Next time, let you try my cooking; I’m better at grilling meat, and I’m confident it won’t be worse than this restaurant.”
“Really? Then I’ll be waiting! If it’s hard to eat, I’ll definitely say it.” Michelle smiled mischievously.
“It’s definitely not hard to eat!”
What a joke, his grilled meat could even conquer the picky old man.
“What I’ve always been a bit concerned about is that my cooking isn’t good, so why did Leo have to finish it back then? Was it the seniors forcing you to eat? If so, you must tell me; I’ll take charge for you.”
Michelle recalled the situation at that time; the expressions of several seniors kept changing, and it was obvious they were communicating telepathically. They had invited Leo out alone to understand this, as there were many cases of seniors oppressing newcomers.
“No, no, that’s not the case. You probably understand them by now; it was my own choice to eat.”
Sure enough, Michelle was really kind-hearted.
“At that time, I sensed they were communicating telepathically, definitely trying to push the responsibility onto each other. If it dragged on too long, you would notice something was off, so I pulled you over.”
Feeling that the atmosphere was a bit off, Leo teased again, “But your cooking is really a deadly weapon; even the seniors avoid it like poison, hahaha!”
“But there’s no need to hurt yourself like that.”
Michelle’s face showed guilt, and she completely ignored Leo’s later words.
If this knot in her heart isn’t untied, Michelle will probably keep feeling troubled, after all, it caused him to be hospitalized, and she, being so kind, surely couldn’t bear it.
“I told you before, I was an orphan. Before being adopted by the old man, I had eaten things that were even worse than this, like rotting animal corpses and moldy food. So compared to that, it’s really not a big deal. More importantly, we can’t waste food; finishing the food is the greatest recognition and reward for the chef who cooks seriously.”
Leo had experienced hunger, and wasting food was absolutely not allowed.
“And at that time, you were wholeheartedly wanting everyone to taste delicious food. How should I put it? I felt I couldn’t let you down like that.”
As soon as the words came out, Leo suddenly felt a bit embarrassed.
“I see.”
Upon hearing this, Michelle stirred her tea with a small spoon, a genuine smile appeared at the corner of her mouth, and her heart felt a bit sweet.
“Leo is very kind.”
Michelle blossomed with an angelic, delicate smile.
I’m kind?
This was the first time Leo had heard such an evaluation.
It was simply ridiculous!
“No, I’m very selfish. I wouldn’t care about people unrelated to me, and if they have a grudge against me, they would only think I’m very cruel.”
Human nature cannot be simply summarized; perhaps even Leo himself doesn’t understand himself.
“Maybe, everyone has flaws, and having the courage to admit one’s flaws is also a virtue.” Michelle whispered softly.
“What did you say?” Leo didn’t hear clearly.
“Alright, it’s decided. Even if Leo’s grilled meat is terrible, I will eat it all!”
“So it’s not terrible at all! How many times do I have to say it for you to hear!”
“After resting, let’s go.”
Michelle stood up, her face showing a relieved smile.
……
In the afternoon, Leo and Michelle strolled around the Holy City. When the sun was about to set, the two returned to Master Jekes’ weapon shop.
“Here, the weapons are ready. Take a look.”
As soon as Master Jekes saw them, he waved at them.
“Pretty good!”
The sword blade was as smooth as a mirror, and the sharp edge emitted a cold gleam. Leo lightly flicked the blade, producing a pleasant ringing sound.
“How is it? Enough for you to go all out a few times?” Jekes asked with a smile.
“Probably about twenty times.” Leo replied.
“Alright, you kid, hurry up and leave.”
Jekes probably guessed it too, handing Leo the leg and arm guards and starting to shoo him away, “If you can’t find good materials, don’t come to me for weapon forging again.”
Leo immediately put on the arm and leg guards and left with Michelle.
Sure enough, they were quite heavy, and his speed slowed down. He had to use magic to enhance his body to avoid being exhausted.
“Really good, if you’re careful, you should be able to use them for a long time.” Michelle was happy for him.
“It’s okay, but if I exceed my full power in an attack, I probably won’t be able to use it many times. It’s too difficult to find suitable materials to forge a good weapon. This sword will be used at critical moments; I should buy a few ordinary swords for emergencies.”
The sunlight shone through, and the sword reflected a dazzling luster. To be able to forge such a quality weapon with ordinary materials, Jekes truly deserved the title of master.
“Give me the sword.”
Not knowing what Michelle wanted to do, Leo still handed the sword to her.
“Weapon enhancement, hardness, power amplification!”
Michelle whispered, bestowing a series of spells on the sword.
“This sword can only undergo simple enhancements; it can probably increase a few full-power strikes. The user can also apply magic to enhance the weapon. When I forge a good sword in the future, I’ll help you again.”
“Thanks!”
After putting the sword back in its sheath, Leo, having learned space storage, directly placed the sword into the skill space.
“Alright, let’s go back.”
With everything settled, Leo and Michelle walked back to the academy together.
“I had a great time today; see you tomorrow!”
When parting, Michelle elegantly turned around and waved, a smile on her face as she left with a light step.
“See you tomorrow?”
Leo murmured, a smile also appearing on his face.
After joining the Crimson Flame team, he had to report to the team almost every day, which meant he would have a lot of time to meet Michelle.
College life is indeed good!
He suddenly became excited.
That’s right, it was because he could become stronger that he was looking forward to it, not for any other reason.
After parting, Leo didn’t immediately return to his small villa but went to the seaside to test the sword’s power.
“Enhance!”
Magic was infused into the sword, emitting a blue glow, and then he swung it towards the sea, delivering a slash that crossed over two hundred meters of ocean, doubling its normal power.
Leo showed a satisfied expression, “Indeed, a good weapon can greatly enhance a swordsman’s strength.”
He couldn’t wait to have a legendary weapon of his own.
Even if it wasn’t legendary, something slightly less would be fine.
