Chapter 7: You’ve Lost Weight
At some point, the sound of cicadas chirping in the night filled the air, their cries heart-wrenching and desperate.
Ji Wuxiu moved his fluffy paw, lifting his head to look at the blood-red moon hanging in the night sky, thinking about unrelated things.
Slowly, it was hard to tell how much time had passed.
A faint snoring sound gradually emerged, and the black-and-white creature hanging from the treetop grew quiet, obedient, and as soft as a cotton candy.
At dawn, the birds’ calls were always the first to ring out.
Ji Wuxiu was quickly woken up, awkwardly rubbing his dry eyes, then yawning.
“System, what time is it?”
The system quickly responded: 【Ding! It’s noon. You’ve slept a few more hours than yesterday, totaling 14 hours.】
However, at this time, the system showed no signs of reprimanding Ji Wuxiu for being so lazy. On the contrary, it seemed somewhat pleased.
As a cute creature, he should be lazy and greedy, adored by all living beings.
Having learned from his previous experience, Ji Wuxiu easily climbed down the tree this time.
He seemed a little hungry.
Ji Wuxiu rubbed his stomach, showing a mischievous smile.
But even so, the black-and-white creature still looked foolishly cute and sad, as though it was carrying endless concerns.
Ji Wuxiu took small steps, feeling a little guilty inside. Was it a bit too much to rob that poor hedgehog every day?
On his way, Ji Wuxiu carefully observed the surroundings, trying to find something to eat. If he could find something, he wouldn’t have to rob the unfortunate hedgehog.
It wasn’t easy for the hedgehog to stock up on food.
They were all just trying to survive in the forest. It would be fine if they couldn’t help each other, but they shouldn’t be putting each other down.
As he walked halfway, a black tail suddenly darted out from the bushes.
Ji Wuxiu paused, blinking, wondering how he kept running into this black panther every day. He walked over and patted the panther’s behind with his bear paw.
The black panther suddenly raised its head, baring its fangs and angrily turning around.
Who dared to pat its backside?!
But upon seeing the culprit, the black panther immediately deflated, silent and sulking, continuing to bury its head in its food.
Ji Wuxiu leaned in closer, parted the grass, and let out a loud call.
“Wow—” Good morning, Panther.
The black panther shook its ears and continued to eat, but it was eating faster than before.
Ji Wuxiu moved closer, plopping down next to the panther with his limbs sprawled out, taking a deep breath, then patting the black panther and making a low sound.
“Wow—” I’m talking to you!
The black panther kept eating, doing its best to block out the presence beside it that was making its fur stand on end.
Ji Wuxiu was dissatisfied with the panther’s indifference and patted it again, his usual silly, cute expression unchanged on his face.
“Wow—”
The black panther, slightly irritated, continued eating.
“Wow—” Ji Wuxiu called out again.
The black panther, more and more frustrated, didn’t dare to bite the ugly creature, so it simply moved away with its food, continuing to eat.
“Wow—” Ji Wuxiu called once more, his face expressionless. He was sure that this panther was actually very smart.
At least Ji Wuxiu had never seen another creature like this black panther that held a grudge so much.
The black panther kept eating, but its paws wouldn’t retract. It really wanted to turn around and swipe at that ugly creature to make it shut up!
Was it ever going to be able to eat in peace?
Ji Wuxiu didn’t even know why he was being so silly. Even though he knew the black panther couldn’t understand him, he still couldn’t help but keep talking.
“Wow—” Look at you, all black. How about I call you Xiao Hei (Little Black)?
The black panther was annoyed.
It started regretting why it had been so stupid earlier, wanting to eat this creature.
Now, it couldn’t even eat its meal in peace.
The black panther ate furiously, pressing its ears down low, trying to block out the sound around it.
It was absolutely fed up!
Once the nagging stopped, Ji Wuxiu stood up, brushed off the grass from his behind, and waved at the black panther.
“Wow—” Xiao Hei, goodbye, I’m going to find something to eat. See you in the afternoon.
If the black panther could understand Ji Wuxiu, it would probably jump up and yell not to look for it.
However, the reality was that the black panther just let out a sigh of relief, cautiously grabbing its food and moving toward a more hidden spot. It didn’t believe it would run into that ugly creature again.
Ji Wuxiu felt very shameless.
At least right now.
Because he had intercepted that innocent hedgehog again and stolen half of its food.
As a panda who only needed to act cute to have no worries about food or drink, Ji Wuxiu was undoubtedly a failure, tarnishing the reputation of the panda family.
Ji Wuxiu couldn’t believe that he was now relying on robbery to survive.
Maybe this was life.
Full of unexpected twists.
The black-and-white Mr. Panda looked on with a sigh, silently nibbling on his fruit.
The hedgehog, once again robbed, still thought that the ugly creature was indeed very ugly, but this time it didn’t lose all its food.
It must be a stupid one.
After finishing the fruit, Ji Wuxiu rubbed his belly, still feeling a bit hungry, but this time, he genuinely didn’t have the heart to rob the poor hedgehog again.
Walking through the forest, Ji Wuxiu looked around, his gaze locking onto something. He immediately took small steps toward it, first observing its shape, then sniffing its scent. He couldn’t help but cheer.
Good stuff!
There were actually strawberries here.
And they were so fresh!
Ji Wuxiu, taking advantage of his dexterous panda paws, carefully picked the strawberries and stuffed them into his mouth, his expression immediately filled with satisfaction.
Sweet.
Not sour at all.
The strawberries here seemed to be all over the place, and Ji Wuxiu didn’t know why no other animals had eaten them. Naturally, he wasn’t shy about taking all the fully ripe ones, finishing them off, wiping his mouth, and letting out a contented sigh.
Marking the location in his mind, Ji Wuxiu planned to come here every day from now on to eat a few, just as a snack.
In the afternoon, Ji Wuxiu strolled leisurely through the grass, his steps relaxed and slow, his face, as always, devoid of expression, with dark circles under his eyes.
Not far off was a small stream.
The clear river sparkled with light, as if it were covered in golden stones.
Ji Wuxiu found a place where the water was deeper, plopped down on his behind, and dipped his paws in the water a few times, letting the ripples wet his fur. Fortunately, he was originally human, so he didn’t mind water that much.
Ji Wuxiu carefully cleaned the dirt out of the gaps in his panda paws, and after washing them, he lowered his head to drink some water.
The river surface reflected distorted images, with a few small fish darting through, happily swimming about.
Ji Wuxiu stared seriously at the slightly blurry reflection, feeling that this body was truly full of cuteness.
Even though it hadn’t fully opened up yet, there was still a hint of childishness. Despite not having bathed for two days, his fur remained snow-white, looking just like cotton candy.
Ji Wuxiu wondered if he would end up looking like the adult pandas in the videos once he grew up.
【Ding! So, host, you must start from a young age, make sure to bathe regularly, and keep your fur clean and white, as this helps increase your cuteness charm.】
Ji Wuxiu blinked, thinking the system’s advice made a lot of sense.
Since it was between spring and summer, Ji Wuxiu carefully stepped into the river and started to bathe himself. His panda paws rubbed through his fur, quickly wetting the once fluffy, soft coat. His round, chubby body instantly turned into a drowned rat, looking small and lean.
Ji Wuxiu looked at his current appearance, feeling a bit emotional.
It seemed this body was truly just fake fat.
【Ding! It is recommended that the host strengthen nutrition. You’ve lost weight…】
Ji Wuxiu was a little surprised, even feeling a bit touched.
However, the system spoke in a tone full of disappointment: 【If you stay this way you can’t earn more cute value!】
Ji Wuxiu showed no expression, deciding to swallow back what he had intended to say.
He felt he had been foolishly moved.
