Chapter 29: Antarctic Logistics (2/2)
When Shen Cheng’s hand brushed against the forehead of the Ragdoll cat girl, he suddenly felt a hint of warmth.
His mind buzzed. Shen Cheng hurriedly took off his jacket and covered the Ragdoll cat girl with it, not caring that her body was soaking wet, and clumsily lifted her into his arms.
“Great, it’s okay, she’s still alive! It’s okay…” After a moment of ecstatic relief, the smile on Shen Cheng’s face quickly faded, replaced by a look of deep concern.
Although she still had a faint breath, the Ragdoll cat girl’s condition was dire, and she definitely needed to be taken to a hospital.
Could an ordinary hospital treat demi-humans? Would they even accept demi-humans? And if they did, how would he explain her condition?
Flashes of the squinting man’s smile passed through his mind. Shen Cheng slapped his forehead, hurriedly pulling out the black phone that Shao Silin had left him before departing last night.
He scrolled through the contacts and found the entry for the squinting man. Shen Cheng quickly dialed the number.
The call was answered almost immediately, and Shao Silin’s voice came through: “Boss Shen, I was just about to call you…”
“I found a cat demi-human. She’s on the brink of death and needs emergency care!” Shen Cheng anxiously interrupted Shao Silin, looking at the Ragdoll cat girl, who was barely clinging to life in his arms.
“…” There was a brief moment of silence on the other end of the line before Shao Silin’s voice returned, this time with a serious tone: “Stay right where you are. I’ll contact Antarctic Logistics!”
With that, the phone call ended abruptly, and a busy signal followed. Shao Silin had hung up.
Shen Cheng was left dumbfounded. Antarctic Logistics? What in the world was that? A delivery service? It sounded so unreliable!
With no choice but to place his hopes in Shao Silin, Shen Cheng paced anxiously back and forth in the alley, repeatedly trying to call Shao Silin, only to be told each time that the line was busy.
Helpless, Shen Cheng could only hold the Ragdoll cat girl and anxiously wait. Every passing second felt like an eternity for him.
“Ding—” A message notification sounded from his phone. Shen Cheng glanced at it. It was from Shao Silin, and it contained only two short words: It’s done.
It’s done? What’s done?
In the next moment, something completely unexpected happened before Shen Cheng’s eyes.
The space in front of him suddenly twisted, and then a human-sized black hole appeared out of nowhere. A cute young girl jumped out of the black hole with a “biu” and landed on the ground. She winked at Shen Cheng and said, “Antarctic Logistics, Cybils, at your service!”
The girl was barely 1.5 meters tall, with short black hair that shone with a smooth luster. On top of her head was a tuft of golden bird-like feathers, suggesting she was a demi-human. Her face resembled that of a delicate porcelain doll, with distinctly Western features.
She was wearing a thick cotton jacket and a scarf around her neck, but oddly enough, she wore only a short skirt and knee-high black socks on her legs. The outfit looked bizarrely mismatched.
This brief spectacle was far more visually shocking than Lin Yuhui’s fire summoning. Shen Cheng stood dumbfounded, stunned for what felt like a hundred years. “Cy… Cybils?”
“That’s right!” Although she had a Western face, Cybils spoke the local language with surprising fluency.
Cybils walked around Shen Cheng, took two steps behind him, and suddenly jumped up, wrapping her arms around his neck from behind. She laughed energetically, “Hey, you smell nice, little brother! Are you ready?”
“Huh? No, ready for what…” Shen Cheng hadn’t finished speaking when Cybils raised her right hand and snapped her fingers.
“Start the teleportation!”
