Chapter 35: Are You Key People Always So Free? (1/2)

“Naming Demi-Humans like how you name cats is fine by me, but at least give them names that are a bit more decent, right?”

On the way back to Lingshi City, Shao Silin was driving, with Shen Cheng and Liu Su sitting in the back.

As Shao Silin stepped on the gas, Liu Su complained to Shen Cheng, “At the very least, names should be convenient to use in society. Otherwise, they’ll have to keep a fake name on their ID cards.”

“Um, I’ll keep that in mind next time.” Shen Cheng coughed awkwardly. Thinking carefully, places like the Institute used names like Liu Su, Yu Lan, and Shi Yue. These were straightforward enough to use in society. Now looking at Shen Cheng’s side, with names like Cheese, Sugar, and Milk Tea…

They all sounded like fake names, right?!

“By the way, why are the two of you sending me? Is there another mission in Lingshi City?” Shen Cheng asked suddenly while looking at Liu Su, who was sighing as he stared outside the car window.

Logically, just sending him home wouldn’t require C-grade Specialized Agents.

“Yes, this time we’re involved in a mission against the foreign Demi-Human organizations operating in Lingshi City,” Liu Su nodded.

After pondering for a moment, Shen Cheng asked, “If there’s a lead, could you notify me?”

“We could, but Boss Shen, you haven’t fully integrated with the cat Demi-Human gene, so I don’t recommend you getting involved,” Shao Silin, who was driving, suddenly spoke up.

Looking at Shao Silin’s squinting eyes, Shen Cheng’s mouth twitched slightly. Is it safe to let him drive?

Though Shen Cheng couldn’t understand how a squinting person could drive, he still managed to reach the western district of Lingshi City without incident.

Liu Su and Shao Silin left for their mission, and by the time Shen Cheng reached the Cat café, it was already two o’clock in the afternoon.

Due to the organizational nature of the Bio-Scientific Institute, outside communication can’t reach inside unless via a specially designed terminal.

So when Shen Cheng remembered to get his own phone, he noticed there were thirty-four missed calls from Lin Yuhui. His heart sank, and he broke into a sweat.

However, when Shen Cheng called Lin Yuhui, surprisingly he wasn’t too angry and just sighed with relief after learning about the situation. He simply told Shen Cheng to come back early.

Nervously, Shen Cheng pushed open the door of the Cat café and stepped inside.

“Welcome—nya!” Cheese, the greeter at the entrance, recognized him and leaped into Shen Cheng’s arms.

“This morning, we didn’t see you, and Cheese and Sugar were so worried they’d cry!”

“Haha… It’s my fault. Next time I’ll let you know before heading out,” Shen Cheng replied affectionately, patting Cheese on the head, while scanning the interior of the Cat café.

The café was crowded today, but it seemed the peak order time had passed. Sugar, a single cat, managed to weave through the crowd with ease, handling everything perfectly.

Lin Yuhui and Wen Yuanyuan were leaning against the counter, visibly exhausted.

With a wry smile, Shen Cheng approached the counter and said apologetically, “Thank you for your hard work.”

“Of course, it was hard! Today, Sister Yuanyuan managed all the coffee and desserts,” Lin Yuhui complained in a huff, averting her gaze.

“No… No way! If Huihui hadn’t helped me, there’s no way I could have handled everything alone,” Wen Yuanyuan blushed and quickly waved her hand.
