“Awooo!!”

With a “whoosh,” bullets shot out from the gun barrel accompanied by fire, piercing through the dense overlapping leaves above and shooting towards the sky.

The man, covered in blood and not knowing where the old wolf, half of whose body was drenched in dried blood, had suddenly come from, had knocked aside his gun barrel. His bloodshot eyes momentarily froze, then, in a frenzy, he pulled out a short knife from his pocket and stabbed at the old wolf. “Die, just die! You damned beasts!”

“Aw!!” The wolf fiercely bit down on the man’s neck.

Liu Su was initially stunned but then quickly fired a shot. With the gunshot ringing out, the man’s head burst into a spray of blood. His head tilted, and he died with his eyes open, not at peace.

The old wolf released its grip, standing tall and proud. Although covered in blood and wounds, it still appeared incredibly majestic.

Liu Su and Shao Silin dared not let their guard down, keeping their guns trained on the old wolf.

Shen Cheng stared blankly at the old wolf, seeing it standing proudly. He couldn’t help recalling a shadow from his memories.

Taking two steps forward, Shen Cheng spoke softly, “Little Gray?”

“Shen Cheng?”

“Boss Shen?”

Shao Silin and Liu Su were slightly taken aback as they turned to look at Shen Cheng.

The old wolf gave Shen Cheng a deep glance and then turned around, walking away slowly.

Opening his mouth, Shen Cheng lifted his foot and followed behind the old wolf, with Shao Silin and Liu Su exchanging a glance and following suit.

“Little Gray, you’ve grown up.” Shen Cheng smiled faintly as he walked behind the old wolf.

The old wolf wagged its tail but did not respond, quietly continuing to walk forward.

“Little Gray, it seems we haven’t seen each other in a long time.”

“Little Gray, do you still remember how we met back then?”

“Little Gray…”

Following the old wolf, Shen Cheng had a light yet somewhat bitter smile on his face, speaking as if reminiscing with an old friend.

The old wolf gave no response whatsoever, only continuing to walk silently.

Shao Silin and Liu Su followed behind Shen Cheng, watching the blood trail the old wolf left behind with each step, remaining silent.

Finally, as they reached a very thick and heavily overgrown old tree, the old wolf stopped walking, turning its head to look at Shen Cheng with eyes seemingly filled with… a request.

Meeting the gaze of the old wolf, Shen Cheng murmured, “Little Gray, did you bring me here on purpose?”

“Woo…” The old wolf let out a low whimper, stepped forward, nudging its head against Shen Cheng’s hand, then swayed its body and collapsed silently.

After a moment of silence, Shen Cheng squatted down and gently stroked the old wolf’s head, which was gradually growing cold. He whispered, “Rest well, Little Gray…”

After bidding farewell to his old friend, Shen Cheng stood up, gazing at the thick old tree before him.

“Did it bring us here to entrust us with something?” Liu Su stepped forward, looking at Shen Cheng with a slightly sorrowful expression, and squeezed his hand, offering whatever comfort she could.

Shen Cheng did not answer Liu Su but instead murmured quietly, “They’re here…”

Liu Su was stunned, turning along with Shao Silin. In the next moment, both Liu Su and Shao Silin’s eyes widened.

They saw a girl with long gray hair, a pair of fluffy wolf ears atop her head, and a doll-like face peeking out from behind the old tree, looking at Shen Cheng and the others with amber eyes. She spoke timidly:

“Did you… come to catch me?”
