Chapter 80: Would You Like a Cup of Tea? (2/2)
Milk Tea, who was helping search for the necklace in the backyard, looked up and asked, “Has Master returned?”
Cheese, who had been somewhat absent-minded, perked up his ears upon hearing this.
Chen Qing smiled and patted the heads of both Milk Tea and Cheese. “It should be an old friend of Old Wei who has arrived. Don’t worry about it for now, just help mother find the necklace, okay?”
Milk Tea nodded repeatedly upon hearing this, and Cheese also showed a playful smile, “Okay, nya!”
“Bang!” The door to the house was violently kicked open. Eryndel, the leader of the group, scanned the room and saw only a middle-aged man wearing frameless glasses, who looked quite ordinary, holding a tea tray. Frowning, Eryndel harshly asked in broken Chinese, “Is it just you?”
“My wife and daughters-in-law are busy with some things. No need to be so aggressive.” Shen Wei smiled as he approached, offering the tea tray to the Eryndel man. “Why don’t you sit down and have a cup of tea?”
The Eryndel man exchanged glances with his two companions before immediately launching a fierce attack on Shen Wei.
However, Shen Wei merely tilted his head slightly, easily dodging the assault. He looked at the shocked Eryndel man and said with a smile, “If you don’t want tea, just say so. No need to be so violent. Were you bitten by a teacup as a child?”
“You—!” The Eryndel man, now enraged, threw a fierce side kick toward Shen Wei’s waist.
“Bang!” But Shen Wei simply raised his left leg slightly, blocking the powerful kick with ease. The teacup on his tray remained completely still, while the Eryndel man felt a jolt from the impact, nearly losing his balance.
Shen Wei continued smiling, “Still not interested in tea?”
The Eryndel man’s heart trembled. He shouted, “Everyone, attack!”
The two companions behind him quickly reacted and rushed at Shen Wei together.
The first man to attack aimed a side kick, but Shen Wei easily dodged it. In an instant, Shen Wei countered by kicking the inside of the man’s supporting knee.
“Crack!” A crisp sound of bone breaking echoed, sending a shiver down the spines of the other two Eryndel men.
The man who had charged first lost his balance and dropped to his knees, sweat pouring from his forehead as he opened his mouth to scream.
“Slap!” Shen Wei grabbed the man’s face, stifling his cry. Lowering his head slightly, Shen Wei calmly said, “Don’t scream.”
The Eryndel man felt like he was being stared down by a fierce, ancient beast. His back was instantly drenched in cold sweat, and he instinctively nodded repeatedly.
“Die!” The second Eryndel man, without thinking, drew a short knife and slashed at the back of Shen Wei’s head. But Shen Wei, as if he had eyes on the back of his head, dodged the blade with a slight tilt and grabbed the man’s wrist.
“Crack!” Another crisp bone-breaking sound followed. The short knife fell to the ground with a clang, but before the Eryndel man could scream, Shen Wei struck his jaw with an elbow, knocking him to the floor.
“Clang—”
The sound of the knife hitting the ground reached Sugar’s ears, instantly recognizable to her. She instinctively looked up but was interrupted when Chen Qing suddenly shouted, “Sugar, come quickly!”
“Coming, mother!” Any budding wariness in Sugar was quickly smothered, and she turned her head and ran toward Chen Qing.
After dispatching the two companions, Shen Wei turned around and saw the trembling leader of the group, Eryndel, nervously aiming a gun at him.
“Who… who are you?” The Eryndel man asked in a shaky voice, speaking in Chinese.
The next moment, the Eryndel man saw a blur, and his gun was somehow in Shen Wei’s hand, five steps away.
“It’s been a while since I’ve handled one of these… Feels nostalgic.” Shen Wei smiled as he fiddled with the gun in his hand, then looked up at the Eryndel leader.
The leader forced a grim smile, more awkward than sorrowful.
“Sir, how about… we sit down and have some tea?”
