Chapter 96: You Call This Rest? (1/2)

At noon, the door of the Cat Café was pushed open. Lin Yuhui, who had just finished class, walked in.

When Lin Yuhui saw the bustling scene inside the Cat Café, she was slightly stunned.

This is… Senior’s Cat Café?

She turned to look at the counter, where Shen Cheng was secretly discussing something with Xiang Long, both of them looking quite mysterious.

Feeling curious, Lin Yuhui approached to eavesdrop on their conversation.

“Boss, do you still have that… white powder?”

Just as she got closer, the first words out of Xiang Long’s mouth struck Lin Yuhui like a bolt of lightning.

White powder?

What white powder?

Huh??

“Of course, I do.” However, Shen Cheng, acting as if it were completely normal, smiled lightly and casually took out a bag of goat milk powder from under the counter and handed it to Xiang Long.

Lin Yuhui: “…”

Come on, can you guys not scare people like that with your conversations?

“Oh? You’re here? Must’ve been tough. Why don’t you go upstairs and rest a bit?” Shen Cheng noticed Lin Yuhui and smiled as he spoke.

Lin Yuhui shook her head and said, “Just two classes, not tiring at all. Now that the Cat Café is so busy, I’d rather help you out.”

As she spoke, Lin Yuhui turned her gaze to Xiang Long and asked, “Brother Xiang Long, why are you suddenly buying goat milk powder?”

“Ah, a stray cat near my house just gave birth to a litter of kittens. I wanted to give them some extra nutrition.” Xiang Long scratched his head, revealing a somewhat foolish but harmless smile.

Behind the counter, Shen Cheng couldn’t help but shake his head and sigh.

Winter was approaching fast. Would that litter of kittens, so carefully cared for by Big Long, make it through the cold?

Xiang Long’s wife was allergic to cats, so despite his love for them, Xiang Long never kept any at home. Instead, he satisfied his craving for feline companionship by playing with stray cats outside.

Nodding, Lin Yuhui walked upstairs. She pushed open the door to the second floor, and when the scene inside came into view, she froze in place.

The living room floor and coffee table were so spotless they practically gleamed, and a pile of freshly laundered clothes was neatly hung out to dry on the balcony. From the kitchen came the sound of clinking and clanging.

Lin Yuhui: “???”

Snapping out of her daze, Lin Yuhui stepped into the room, moving quietly toward the kitchen.

Peeking her head around the kitchen door, she saw Xue’er, sweating profusely as she cleaned up the trash.

Xue’er straightened up and wiped her brow, just in time to meet Lin Yuhui’s curious gaze. Her face lit up with joy as she waved, saying, “Sister Huihui, you’re here!”

Scanning the immaculate kitchen, with the cooking utensils on the wall gleaming brightly, Lin Yuhui asked in astonishment, “Xue’er, what are you… doing?”

“Oh, me…” Xue’er blushed, scratching her head while her rabbit ears twitched and flicked. “I didn’t feel like working, so he sent me up here to rest.”

Lin Yuhui’s mouth twitched slightly. You call this resting?

Cleaning a place this big all by yourself? This is probably more work than what those cat girls downstairs are doing!

“Hehe…” Xue’er giggled foolishly under Lin Yuhui’s odd stare. “Since Sister Cheese and the others are all busy, I got bored being by myself, so I thought I’d find something to do.”
