Chapter 20
Wang Yanniang’s requests were quite unusual, but when it came to Xu Shijia, he was just an ordinary, helpless father.
Fortunately, with his rich experience, Lin Shu and Wang Yanniang generally had a pleasant conversation during this meal.
Having built Xinhe from scratch to its current scale, Wang Yanniang turned out to be even more magnanimous than Lin Shu had expected. Not only did he not pursue Lin Shu’s earlier rudeness during the phone call, but he also didn’t mention it at all. Instead, he treated Lin Shu with great respect.
He wasn’t like a typical CEO; his attitude was more accommodating, and he was clearly curious about young people and new ideas. Although he had an imposing presence, he was unexpectedly approachable.
A huge weight finally lifted off Lin Shu’s shoulders—at least Tianhao didn’t suffer any loss by losing Xinhe as a major client.
Lin Shu’s aspirations for a promotion also began to stir again.
Xu Shijia had decent potential; so what if he was a prince? After all, he had the support of his father, the prince. If she made Xu Shijia work hard and hone his skills, it would be like having a death immunity token. Wouldn’t her future work be able to proceed with vigor and enthusiasm?
Now that she had established a direct connection with Wang Yanniang, it was effectively a direct line to the “central authority.” Having someone in the government would surely make things easier.
The most important thing was that now she understood Xu Shijia’s background, and Lin Shu was confident she could come up with a more tailored plan to deal with him.
After all, in this team, Xu Shijia was the only one capable of doing any work, and since Wang Yanniang had requested Lin Shu to train him well, making Xu Shijia work hard would be a win-win situation for both of them.
In the end, Wang Yanniang would be happy, Lin Shu would be pleased, and only Xu Shijia would be suffering. So what? As long as it was just Xu Shijia who was in deep water, Lin Shu didn’t care at all. Sacrificing one for the sake of prosperity? What could be better?
As expected, although Xu Shijia claimed he might not make it to work the next day, he was sitting in the office on time bright and early.
A promising student.
Lin Shu felt satisfied.
“Xu Shijia, there’s a potential client I’ll be meeting soon; come along with me.”
Even though he had approved Xu Shijia’s leave, the fact that he came to work on his own showed that he was eager to improve.
Negotiating and screening clients are essential skills for a lawyer, and new lawyers usually start by observing and learning.
For employees willing to improve, Lin Shu was always generous with opportunities.
—
This potential client was a man of a similar age to Lin Shu—
“Hello, Lawyer Lin. I learned about you from a live stream of the Jin Yan event.”
“At that time, I was struck by your beauty at first glance, but I didn’t expect you to be even more stunning in person. No wonder several friends who attended the Jin Yan annual meeting couldn’t stop praising you. I couldn’t help but ask around for your contact information because I really wanted to meet you and hope we can have the opportunity to collaborate.”
The man was well-dressed, and as he approached, Lin Shu could smell his cologne. His hair was styled, and he looked like a typical young talent. He gazed at Lin Shu with warmth, while still maintaining appropriate gentlemanly behavior.
He smiled at Lin Shu and said, “Let me introduce myself; my name is Lu Lin.”
After a pause, he casually added, “Lu Yuanyang from the Sino-Ocean Group is my dad.”
Sino-Ocean Group? Lin Shu vaguely remembered it as a global freight company.
“However, the project I want to discuss with you today has nothing to do with Sino-Ocean Group. It’s my own smart home company that I started based on my own abilities. I don’t want to rely on my family’s influence…”
To be fair, Xu Shijia was quite cooperative today. However, just when Lin Shu thought he had finally become active, motivated, and obedient, Xu Shijia scoffed.
“Don’t want to rely on anyone? You probably can’t anyway.”
The assistant lawyer leaned back lazily in his chair, behaving as if he were the boss. He raised his eyelids slightly, looking disdainfully at Lu Lin, and spoke in a condescending tone: “Isn’t Sino-Ocean Group recently in deep trouble with a cash flow crisis? Aren’t they frantically looking for Xinhe Group to help with financing through a loan?”
“…”
Lu Lin clearly felt embarrassed, but after clearing his throat, he quickly adjusted his expression and said, “There are many rumors going around, no need to take them seriously.”
Since Lin Shu and Xu Shijia entered the conference room, Lu Lin’s gaze had been fixed on Lin Shu, hardly sparing a glance for Xu Shijia until now. Finally, he directed some attention toward him: “Lawyer Lin, your assistant has quite the personality.”
“Although he doesn’t look very young, about the same age as me, he’s definitely a newcomer. Unlike me, who has a broad perspective and more social experience thanks to my father’s educational philosophy and family background, it’s natural for me to distinguish between truth and falsehoods in society. But if your assistant has such a singular experience, it’s easy for him to believe in false news and rumors. Shouldn’t lawyers learn to discern information? It seems Lawyer Lin has a lot to teach him; the burden of mentorship is quite heavy.”
For an ordinary worker, this kind of veiled insinuation would be enough to snap them back to reality and keep quiet.
Unfortunately, who was Xu Shijia?
Lin Shu realized it was too late to stop him.
She heard Xu Shijia respond with a smile, “Yeah, how could I compare to Mr. Lu? My environment is simple; I just focus on working hard and don’t go to nightclubs or drink heavily to accumulate life experience. Compared to Mr. Lu’s sophistication, I’m indeed too naïve.”
Xu Shijia wasn’t finished, and in a way that could infuriate anyone, he continued, “It’s not good for a man to be so simple; it’s easy to get hurt. Luckily, I have Lawyer Lin protecting me.” He smiled slightly, “Although I’ve been working for several years, being able to maintain such a straightforward character and speak my mind is all thanks to the care and support from our Lawyer Lin, right?”
“…”
With such sarcasm, Lu Lin’s face darkened immediately.
But out of courtesy, he held back his frustration.
Lin Shu couldn’t take it anymore and tried to steer the conversation back on track: “So, Mr. Lu, what kind of collaboration did you want to discuss today? Are you hoping our team can provide legal consulting services for your smart home company?”
Lin Shu’s attitude seemed to calm Lu Lin’s emotions somewhat. He smiled and glanced at Xu Shijia next to Lin Shu: “Lawyer Lin, can I talk to you privately?”
“What could you possibly want to discuss that I can’t hear? Or is it something underhanded?” Xu Shijia interjected cheekily, “Lawyer Lin said I’m part of her team. If you need services, it’s the two of us providing them for Mr. Lu.”
Lu Lin looked like he was about to burst; he glared at Xu Shijia: “There’s nothing inappropriate to discuss, but I’m concerned that the content might upset you.”
Under Xu Shijia’s provocations, Lu Lin decided to disregard him and directly addressed Lin Shu: “Lawyer Lin, I actually want to invite you to be the legal director of my company. The salary would be double what you’re earning at your current firm, and if you have any doubts about the compensation, feel free to bring them up.”
At this point, he shot a glance at Xu Shijia: “However, I’d prefer it if you came alone, as my legal department is already equipped with a more specialized and cooperative team, all high-paid professionals. We don’t need someone who lacks real skills and just knows how to mess around.”
Who was Xu Shijia?
Lu Lin was almost calling him out directly, and it was evident that the “prince” was not someone to be trifled with.
Even though Lin Shu tried desperately to give him signals, Xu Shijia had already entered “combat mode.”
He coldly looked at Lu Lin: “Mr. Lu, I just searched the public rulings on the Judicial Documents Network and found that your smart home company is facing over a dozen lawsuits.”
Xu Shijia glanced at his phone and spoke at a measured pace: “Oh, it’s a labor arbitration filed by employees claiming that your startup company hasn’t paid their wages, including a cleaner from the company.”
“Shouldn’t be, Mr. Lu. You’re offering to poach our Lawyer Lin at double her salary and have a high-paid professional legal team, so there shouldn’t be any cash flow issues. How could you even owe a cleaner’s wages?”
“These former employees must be maliciously colluding to sue you; it’s likely that your business competitors are behind this to damage the company’s and your reputation. How about this? Before hiring Lawyer Lin as your legal director, let our Tianhao help you with this defamation case?”
“And regarding the rumors that Sino-Ocean Group requested a loan from Xinhe Group, it’s certainly Xinhe Group spreading lies. We can help you sue them as well.”
…
Ten minutes later, Lin Shu and Xu Shijia were politely escorted out of Lu Lin’s office.
Before they left, Lu Lin’s gaze toward Lin Shu clearly showed reluctance, mixed with hesitation and unwillingness. However, as soon as his eyes fell on the laid-back Xu Shijia next to Lin Shu, his expression instantly hardened.
“Sorry, but I have an urgent matter that just came up. Let’s reschedule for another time.”
It was clear there wouldn’t be a next time…
Lin Shu was infuriated; damn Xu Shijia, what was wrong with him today!
Originally, Lu Lin had planned a lunch, but now it seemed Lin Shu would have to figure it out on her own.
If a lawyer fails to expand their client base, they have to cover their travel expenses and costs out of their own pockets.
Lu Lin’s office was located in the suburbs, where the amenities were not well-developed. Lin Shu could only find a small restaurant that looked clean and hygienic.
Although expanding clients doesn’t always guarantee success, losing a lunch invitation like this left Lin Shu feeling quite displeased. Yet, after Xu Shijia checked the restaurant’s reviews on his phone, he seemed to start stirring up trouble—
“I will never eat at a place where the average cost is only seventy or eighty.”
The man tilted his neck, looking arrogant, as if entering the restaurant was akin to forcing a woman into prostitution.
Lin Shu hadn’t even settled the score with Xu Shijia for offending a potential client, and considering his previous physical hardships, she reluctantly accepted paying for this work meal. She was already trying hard to regulate her mood and refrain from yelling, but Xu Shijia was still being so picky that her anger flared up.
Fortunately, when Lin Shu walked into the small restaurant, Xu Shijia, although unwilling, followed her inside.
Keeping in mind that good manners lead to prosperity, Lin Shu suppressed her anger and ordered.
The restaurant was small, but the staff were very welcoming—
“Our little shop just opened and we have a discount event. The set meal you two ordered is currently half price! And for this soup you ordered, we’re giving it away for free…”
What good luck!
Although it wasn’t a huge amount, Lin Shu thought it was a good omen. Just as she was about to cheer herself up, Xu Shijia started causing trouble again.
“Discount? I don’t want discounted items.” He pointed at the menu. “Change it to a set meal that isn’t discounted.”
“Free soup? Don’t serve that soup.”
This impeccably dressed, irritating man smiled at Lin Shu as if it were only natural: “I don’t eat discounted items or freebies.”
To be honest, when Xu Shijia smiled while staring at you, he did have a certain charm.
But no matter how good-looking he was, behaving like this made it hard to tolerate, even for someone like the “prince” of Xinhe Group.
Lin Shu felt her emotions, which had finally calmed down and entered a dormant state, reignited, like a volcano on the verge of eruption.
Unfortunately, Xu Shijia was completely unaware of the impending eruption. Seeing Lin Shu bite her lip in silence, rather than appreciating her tolerance, his expression worsened as he pressed on, looking for more trouble—
“Just a reminder, when we take a taxi back later, I only ride in premium cars, and they can’t smell like smoke. I won’t take regular rides or poorly maintained taxis; premium cars must at least be BBA models. Also, I only take gasoline cars—no electric cars, they have radiation and I’m afraid they’ll harm my health…”
Even if it was a matter of life and death, this was unbearable! Besides, Xu Shijia owed her no great favor.
Lin Shu put down her chopsticks.
It seemed today the volcano would have to erupt.
“Xu Shijia, is there something wrong with your head?”
“I’ve tolerated you for a long time today.”
“Lu Lin is our potential client. Do you think your attitude while talking to him today was appropriate?”
Xu Shijia didn’t think it was a big deal: “His company’s funding chain is indeed in trouble, so he can’t take care of himself. He’s not a good client, and didn’t you notice his ulterior motives? His intentions aren’t pure.”
“Even if his father’s group has a funding chain issue, it doesn’t affect him; his own company is embroiled in legal disputes, but that doesn’t stop him from seeking out cooperating lawyers. As lawyers, we can’t treat clients differently based on their financial status.”
“Moreover, in the business world, fortunes rise and fall. Today he may be down, but who knows if he’ll make a comeback tomorrow? Lawyers should be more adaptable, not rush to provoke clients and make enemies.”
“As for his motives, I am your boss. I have enough ability to judge and can make independent decisions. Even if I were interested in him and wanted to date him, that has nothing to do with you. I’m willing to take responsibility for my actions.”
Upon hearing this, Xu Shijia’s previously relaxed expression vanished, his face darkening as he looked at Lin Shu with an unpredictable gaze: “You still want to date a guy like him? Are you blind, Lin Shu?”
How could one talk to their superior like this?
And how could this person miss the point? Was this even about dating?
Lin Shu was too tired to argue, so she got straight to the point: “Nothing else matters; what matters is that I am your boss. I brought you here to learn, not to let you steal the spotlight and make decisions on your own.”
Lin Shu’s face turned serious: “There are limits to everything. You refuse freebies, you refuse discounts, you’re picky about clients, and you ignore your superior. If you’re so particular about appearances and have demands for a BBA premium car, then why are you even working? You might as well find a temple to worship yourself.”
“I think Leshan would be nice; you can go there, have the Buddha come down, and then you can go up. The environment is lovely there.”
Lin Shu was genuinely angry.
“Xu Shijia, who do you think you are? Even showing off has its rules.”
After she said this, Xu Shijia only scoffed coldly. He looked up at Lin Shu, a sarcastic, world-weary smile curling his lips: “Who am I? Haven’t you figured it out yet?”
Normally, no one would bring up such an unspoken matter.
Unfortunately, Xu Shijia was clearly an exception. He not only wanted to bring it up but also didn’t plan to gloss over it, staring at Lin Shu aggressively: “What’s wrong? Are you angry? Do you want to fire me?”
“Too bad you can’t, because I’m Wang Yannian’s son, so you’ll just have to endure it.”
Xu Shijia’s expression was provocative: “Right? Other than making empty threats due to my identity, do you have any real moves?”
“I didn’t treat you differently these past few days just because you’re Wang Yannian’s son!”
This was really like a dog biting Lü Dongbin, unable to recognize a good person’s heart!
Moreover, even by Xu Shijia’s own understanding, he was enjoying preferential treatment because of his identity. Now he was using that as a banner to accuse Lin Shu of currying favor; isn’t that hypocritical?
Lin Shu had never seen anyone so adept at twisting the truth to attack others.
If it weren’t for being Wang Yannian’s youngest son, Xu Shijia would probably have been beaten to death by now!
Lin Shu glared at him: “Rest assured, I will treat you the same as everyone else from now on!”
In the future, if she treats him favorably out of guilt, then she’s the real fool!
Unfortunately, Xu Shijia was clearly not afraid of confrontation. He continued to provoke: “Since you’re not treating me specially because I’m Wang Yannian’s youngest son, why don’t you just fire me? Aren’t you supposed to treat me the same as everyone else? What do you have to justify treating me the same?”
“What do I have to treat you equally? You’ll find out soon enough; perhaps the heavens will open their eyes,” Lin Shu said with a cold laugh. “Don’t even think about being fired; it will never happen in your lifetime because I plan to take my time dealing with you.”
Xu Shijia raised an eyebrow, unfazed: “Deal with me? Do you dare?”
He flashed a toothy smile: “Don’t say you wouldn’t fire me. If I were to voluntarily resign right now, you wouldn’t dare let me go. You’d say whatever it takes to keep me.”
Xu Shijia locked his gaze on Lin Shu’s eyes: “Isn’t that right, boss?”
Although he called her boss, the tone and challenge in his eyes were quite evident: “Tomorrow, if I’m in a bad mood, I might just resign. What will you do then?”
What could she do?
There are always more solutions than problems; Lin Shu had nothing to fear.
She immediately pulled out her phone, found the private number of Wang Yannian that she had just saved, and made her decision.
As an old saying goes, don’t act arrogantly, or you might get struck by lightning, from head to toe.
Xu Shijia, just you wait.
If I say I’ll deal with you, I’ll do it without even waiting overnight.
—
Just thinking about how Lin Shu tolerated him because she knew his identity made Xu Shijia feel irritated. He had looked for trouble all day, and in the end, he parted ways with Lin Shu unhappily.
Dealing with him?
That woman was just making empty threats.
Lying comfortably in his bed, Xu Shijia, despite his anger, felt certain.
Lin Shu would definitely contact him tonight.
After all, he was Wang Yannian’s son.
So even if that woman had just scolded him harshly, she would definitely find some reason to comfort him and repair their relationship tonight.
It was always like this; no one could escape this pattern.
Sure enough, five minutes later, Xu Shijia’s phone rang.
The number was unfamiliar.
Xu Shijia scoffed sarcastically, knowing it was Lin Shu who was too embarrassed to call from her own number, afraid he would block her, so she cowardly switched to another number.
Xu Shijia pressed the answer button, ready to hear what excuse Lin Shu had prepared for him.
However, when the call connected, a male voice came from the other end—
“Xu Ge, I’m your property manager, Xiao Liu. The colleague who previously coordinated with you has left, so you can communicate with me directly regarding any property issues in the future. Also, we started collecting the property fees for the second half of the year a few days ago, and today is the deadline. When would it be convenient for you to come and make the payment?”
Xu Shijia, already in a bad mood, became even more displeased upon hearing this: “I set up an automatic payment with my bank card. It will deduct the amount itself.”
Was the new guy a fool?
Did he look like someone who couldn’t pay the property fee?
“Xu Ge, is there a problem with your automatic payment? Our finance department hasn’t received your property fee, and we are currently waiting on yours…”
Xu Shijia hung up the phone, his face darkening as he opened his banking app.
Only when he entered the app did he realize that the automatic deduction had indeed failed—he didn’t have enough balance in his account.
Xu Shijia had never had a concept of financial management in his life. He spent money according to his mood, without regard for amounts, and was used to living extravagantly, completely lacking the habit of saving.
He stared blankly at the two thousand yuan left in his account for several minutes before recalling where his money had gone.
Last month, he had casually bought a Porsche 918 Spyder, spending about fifteen million.
A negative balance didn’t matter; he could just use his credit card to pay the property fee. After all, his trust fund would deposit money into his account next month.
However, when Xu Shijia arrived at the property management center with his credit card and tried to swipe four different cards, each one showed as frozen. He finally realized that things were going awry.
This was a serious problem!
—
On the other side, in the Xinhe headquarters office, Wang Yannian informed Wang Yizhou of his decision—
“Anyway, your younger brother should learn to be self-sufficient; he’s already an adult and has a job. Why can’t he support himself? You were already working seriously at Xinhe at his age. He’s my son too, and it’s time for him to toughen up.”
Wang Yizhou attempted to persuade his father to change his mind: “Training is certainly necessary, but my brother has always lived lazily and hasn’t experienced hardship. His resilience and stress tolerance may not be very good.”
“Isn’t it too sudden to cut off his monthly living allowance from his trust fund and freeze his credit cards? Perhaps we could gradually reduce his monthly living expenses instead, to help him transition?”
“Moreover, you made this decision immediately after a phone call from Lawyer Lin, which seems a bit hasty, doesn’t it?”
Wang Yannian frowned: “Did I have a transition period when I went from being poor to starting Xinhe? It’s precisely because I had nothing that I had to fight with nothing but my bare hands. If I hadn’t been so poor, having some so-called buffer and transition, I would never have been so resolute in starting my own business. Sometimes people don’t realize their potential until they are pushed to the brink.”
Wang Yannian took a sip of tea: “I particularly admire Gorky’s ‘The Seagull’, ‘Let the storm come even more violently.’ I hope my sons can all become seagulls unafraid of the storm.”
“But isn’t the storm too fierce for my brother all at once?”
Unfortunately, Wang Yannian remained unmoved: “At his age, with his salary, he wouldn’t even qualify for a credit card. He’s still using my supplementary card, which is why he says he feels restricted when his card is frozen. If he worked hard and met the income criteria, having his own credit card, he wouldn’t have fallen to this point.”
“You can’t be a greenhouse flower for your whole life,”
“Now that he has an upper hand like Lawyer Lin, it’s a stroke of luck for him. She’s not treating him kindly just because of his background; she’s willing to discipline him strictly and even took the initiative to call me, advising me on how to better develop his abilities and strengthen his will. How can I not cooperate?”
Wang Yannian remained composed: “Besides, according to Xiaobao’s personality, I can provoke him a little later. He has a terrible temper and absolutely cares about his pride, so he won’t come to us to ask for money. In that case, he’ll have to live off his salary, and naturally, he’ll start taking his job seriously and listen to Lawyer Lin.”
“However, Lawyer Lin specifically pointed out some precautions,” Wang Yannian reminded. “To ensure Xiaobao cooperates with Lawyer Lin instead of resenting her and going against her, we naturally have to keep the fact that this idea came from her a secret.”
“Lawyer Lin assured me that we could ignore Xiaobao’s difficulties, and she would help us take care of him, giving him timely guidance and support.”
At this point, Wang Yannian couldn’t help but praise, “I have to say, Lawyer Lin has great management skills; her methods are truly brilliant.”
How could they not be?
This method was exceptional.
When his brother is cut off financially and left isolated, the only one encouraging him and sending him a salary will be that woman, providing him warmth and a sense of hope. Naturally, he would subconsciously see her as his lifeline, believing she had recognized his worth and would work hard for her to earn money.
It’s a cruel tactic, but it’s incredibly clever.
Although Wang Yizhou still admired Lin Shu, he had completely abandoned the idea of actively befriending her or developing a romantic relationship.
That woman was too ruthless.
Cutting off his brother’s financial support was no different from taking his life, right?
What a thunderous tactic.
Not only that, but she also wanted to use others to viciously attack Xu Shijia while pretending to be a good person so that Xu Shijia would be deeply grateful.
Who could withstand that?
With a brother as naive as he was, wouldn’t he be sold and still happily count the money for that woman?
Unfortunately, Wang Yannian clearly admired Lin Shu’s proposal: “I won’t give him a single penny. Your mother is about to go to France for a short course in culinary arts; you must not tell her. Knowing her personality, once she finds out about this, she will definitely make a fuss, insisting that your brother report every detail of his daily activities to her.”
“It was fine when he was a child, but as Xiaobao grew up, he developed his own ideas and lifestyle. He couldn’t stand that excessive pampering anymore, which is why he moved out early and refused to live with you and your mother.”
“After moving out, he would always only report good news and never the bad to your mother, fearing her scrutiny. Even if he runs out of money, he will never proactively ask your mother for help; he fears being controlled by her more than he fears being broke. So as long as we keep this from your mother, Xiaobao will never bring it up with her.”
“As for you, you cannot actively support your brother. If I find out, I will arrange a blind date for you and urge you to marry early to have a wife manage your finances.”
Wang Yizhou nodded, saying, “Understood,” but he felt quite sympathetic toward Xu Shijia.
Fortunately, he had money in hand, so he could secretly “help” his father and brother without them knowing.
It was at this moment that Xu Shijia’s call came in.
Wang Yannian simply put it on speakerphone.
On the other end of the line was Xu Shijia, sounding somewhat exasperated—
“Dad! Why are all my credit cards frozen?! I just contacted my trust fund manager to ask for some money, and they told me they’re stopping my living expenses starting this month!”
“Dad, is Xinhe going under? Are you going bankrupt? What will I do if I run out of money?!”
Wang Yannian’s face was serious as he replied calmly, “What are you planning to do if the family really is in trouble?”
“Dad! Is it really coming to this?!”
Upon hearing Xu Shijia’s voice, Wang Yizhou knew he was genuinely panicking.
Poor brother.
Wang Yizhou was about to say something comforting when he heard Xu Shijia pause, as if he quickly calmed down, and continued—
“Dad, it’s okay if we go bankrupt; I already have a strategy.”
“We can just send my brother to work.”
Xu Shijia seemed quite thoughtful, speaking rapidly as if he had already considered it: “You and Mom are getting older and can’t go out to work anymore, but my brother can. He’s still young and has developed good abilities at Xinhe. His education and work experience are decent. You can let him go out and be a project manager or something; it should be fine. If that doesn’t work, he can work at a big company. In any case, he’ll definitely be a high-paying white-collar worker.”
“Although I’m young too, my abilities are lacking, and I don’t have much work experience. If I go out, I’ll only get basic jobs, basically working at the bottom. Not only will I not have money, but my cost-effectiveness is low. So we need to divide the work and optimize our resources: my brother will go to work, and I will stay at home to take care of you and Mom.”
“My brother doesn’t have a partner right now, so there’s no rush for him to find one. Otherwise, we’ll just have another mouth to feed. It’s good for him to be single right now. As long as he works every day, supporting our family of four shouldn’t be a problem.”
……
Wang Yizhou’s sympathy for Xu Shijia evaporated.
What a little rascal.
He was overthinking it.
Xu Shijia’s storm in life was clearly not fierce enough yet.
Wang Yizhou lifted his gaze and calmly looked at Wang Yannian, who was interrupting Xu Shijia’s rambling, debunking the rumor that Xinhe was going under, and informing Xu Shijia about the decision to cut off funds. After Wang Yannian hung up, Wang Yizhou immediately spoke up—
“Dad, I think you should talk to the heads of various banks again to make sure they don’t grant my brother a loan just because of Xinhe’s reputation. His loan channels need to be cut off.”
“I think you’re right. Lawyer Lin’s suggestion is excellent, so we should cooperate in all aspects without leaving any gaps. I’ll organize a list later of all the other channels my brother could use to gather money and ensure that he can only rely on serious work to earn income.”
After Wang Yizhou finished speaking, he finally felt a bit more at ease.
Now, Xu Shijia’s storm in life would be fierce enough.
