When I first met Taylor, I thought the name sounded strangely familiar. For a while, I thought it was because I had seen him many times as he was a friend of the main character, Chase, but as I thought back on the conversation between the vice president and the secretary, the original setting suddenly came to mind.
A university research team that had no choice but to sell their technology to Kaisha Medical Center for a pittance and even had their name removed from the research team list. The researcher who had to disband the venture research institute after losing all the research results they had created with their own money was none other than Taylor Lionel.
I confidently grabbed Chase’s wrist and shouted.
“It will never fail! This is guaranteed to work.”
“…”
Chase looked at me with surprised eyes as my expression suddenly brightened. After a while of silence, he muttered in a doubtful voice, as if he was very suspicious.
“I’ve heard this before.”
“hmm…”
Even when we invested in Garden City and pushed for this movie to be made, this kind of development continued.
But thanks to recalling those things, I became more confident. There were two successful cases. That meant that the events that took place in this world did not deviate from the original flow. So it was a natural investment this time too.
Taylor’s research team had already achieved some results, but they were having difficulties because they were unable to advance their research due to lack of investment funds. If I could solve the investment problem at this time, they could conquer Pruss disease a few years earlier than the original.
Chase’s mother could be healthy enough. I’m not saying we should do it for financial gain, but it could be a huge gain. It was a good opportunity for me as well as Chase.
I asked proudly, locking eyes with Chase.
“Do you trust me?”
Chase looked me straight in the eye and answered firmly.
“No”
“…”
Why are you responding so coldly again? I licked my lips and mumbled in a small voice, feeling a little more discouraged than before.
“Then you called me a possessed puppy?”
“I thought about it, but I don’t think so.”
“Didn’t I get the Garden City development right?”
“it is a coincidence.”
Are you changing your words like this?
I clearly saw him muttering with a blank expression, asking if the dog was possessed, and now he was ignoring me. I was so shocked that I kept asking him again, my expression darkening.
“I predicted that the movie would be a hit!”
“What are you talking about? It’s not a prophecy. Even in my opinion, the script for that movie was good. And it’s still in the production stage. What nonsense are you talking about?”
“So you trust my judgment?”
“it is a coincidence.”
“Are you a parrot?”
“I am a black panther!”
I felt like we would never be able to communicate. Why can’t I trust people? I was the one who got frustrated because I kept getting tackled when I said I would spend my own money.
“Don’t be like that, just trust me once… Do you really not trust me?”
I felt like I was trying to seduce the innocent Chase by saying. “Do you trust me, oppa?” but I tried to act as harmless as possible and act friendly. However, Chase wasn’t innocent, and my expression didn’t seem that harmless either.
Chase covered my face with his large palm and pushed me away, forcing me to lie down on the bed.
“Stop talking nonsense and get some more sleep.”
“Why is this nonsense!”
“Okay. Then stop talking nonsense…”
“That’s not nonsense!”
I covered myself with the blanket all the way to my head, grumbling. Regardless of whether Chase approves or not, it’s my decision to invest.
As I lay down with the pack on and started to groan, I started to feel sleepy.
It wasn’t like this before, but these days, he falls asleep as soon as he puts his head on the pillow. Chase told me not to hold back and just sleep because the baby wants to rest. Thanks to that, while Chase was doing housework while suffering from morning sickness, I often ended up sleeping all day and waking up with a puffy face.
Thinking about it, I felt sorry for always complaining.
I turned my head slightly and saw Chase sitting on the rug, leaning back against the side of the bed. I gently stroked his soft hair and he glanced up at me.
“Why? Do you need food?”
“Do you think that when I open my eyes, all I do is look for food?”
“When you open your eyes, all you want is food.”
“That’s true, but…”
“Shall we have some grilled meat for dinner?”
“……Is that so?”
Chase shook his head with a smirk. His jet-black hair, shining in the sunlight pouring in from the window, rippled across hi s forehead.
I looked at the sight with my mouth half open and asked absentmindedly.
“But when you carried me…”
“huh?”
“Was it really heavy?”
There was a hint of bewilderment in the gaze that was blankly looking at me. He asked with a slight frown on his forehead.
“Huh? Really?”
“…no.”
“no?”
“…It’s too light.”
When I was about to criticize him for almost dropping him because he was too heavy, Chase mumbled a response, grumbled about gaining some weight, and then suddenly stormed out, saying he was going to the market.

“So what are you… doing?”
“Investment. Investing.”
“Okay, so invest… where?”
“It’s the research that Senior Taylor is conducting. No, that venture research institute? I’m planning to invest in it.”
“Um, yeah… What, how much?”
“As much as you need?”
“You’ll invest as much as we need, and what do you expect?”
“Good research results?”
“…”
“…”
“…”
Taylor froze with his mouth wide open, and even Hester and Remy, sitting next to him, just pursed their lips in bewilderment.
