But it’s fortunate that I will graduate in just a few months.
If he gets a job, he’ll be much more financially secure than he is now. But then who’ll cook the dog food? Chase pondered as he slashed the pork with the back of his knife.
‘By then the baby will be born, so he won’t be crying like that for food… Oh no.’
It didn’t seem like it. It was much better to see the baby and the two of them squealing together. Chase sighed again. These days, I don’t even know how time passes, I just feel like it passes by like the wind.
Fortunately, my morning sickness was less severe than before, perhaps because I was with Leoruka every day. Leoruka kept muttering. “Do you know who I’m blaming for this?” and insisting that Chase would suffer again if I wasn’t there.
(So be nice to me!)
(Where is your conscience? My back is bent from feeding you. How much better can I be than this?)
(Look at the way you speak. If you treat me like this, you’ll regret it later.)
(Please tell me specifically what kind of regret I have and how you deal with it.)
(I’ll tell you later. But…… When will the meal be served?)
(Do I look like a restaurant kiosk[1]a self-service ordering system that lets customers place orders for food and drinks without interacting with a server to you?)
(Starving a pregnant puppy like this…)
(Who starved whom? I fed you steak an hour ago. Do you have a beggar in your stomach?)
(I had your baby!)
That was true, so Chase couldn’t argue any further. He had no choice but to turn around and take the order. What did he ask for that day?
No matter how hard I thought about it, I couldn’t remember how I ended up using Leoruka’s delivery app. The first meeting was definitely the worst. The second and third times too… For almost a year, I hated Leoruka so much that I ground my teeth…
Even now, it’s not good.
As I was stabbing the pork again with the back of the knife, a dog came up next to me and started to meddle
“Then the meat will become tattered. You’re not venting your anger right now, are you?”
“Get your hands off my waist.”
“It helps relieve morning sickness.”
“Do you really have to rub my waist like that to relieve morning sickness?”
“That’s because it’s the best place to touch. It’s pretty…”
I don’t know when he got this bad habit. He would hug my waist all the time, and no matter how much I grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him away, he would hang on to me again if I let my guard down. I hadn’t lost yet, but I felt like I was already exhausted, so I just told him to do whatever he wanted and left him alone.
Chase didn’t know that this ridiculous cohabitation would last this long. He didn’t set a time limit, but he knew that morning sickness would go away after a month or two.
Even now, in fact, I thought it would be okay to stay away from him since he was usually fine even though he occasionally felt nauseous like before. The puppy absolutely refused to do so… I suspected that he was acting like that because he couldn’t use Chase any more when he returned to the Caesar mansion.
In fact, a few weeks ago, I had been rambling about whether it would be better to go home. Leoruka was eating the sweet meat stew Chase had made, his nose buried in it, when he suddenly raised his head with a surprised expression. Then, his already large eyes widened and he began to argue.
“Why? Don’t you want to cook for me?”
(Hey, that’s not it… It’s too small and cold here and it’s uncomfortable. It’s because you have a spacious and comfortable mansion and you are struggling here, I think I’m a lot better now.)
That was the main reason, but it wasn’t the only one.
Leoruka has changed so much these days… that even words alone would not suffice, he has changed so much that it is truly unbelievable. However, Chase still remembered him from when they first met. The way he would stare straight ahead at me with his eyes wide open and threaten me as if nothing had happened. If he regains his memories, won’t he go back to being that Leoruka? It’s okay for now, but if I get any closer from here, something troublesome might happen. It’s not like we’re not close right now……. If I get too attached, I might get hurt… It’s not like I’m attached to that puppy right now……
Anyway, I thought it would be better for both of us to break up now before something like that happens. That doesn’t mean we’re dating now, though…
(So this is my last supper?)
(…What is so extreme about this?)
Leoruka’s eyes, filled with tears, were incredibly hazy. Chase felt his heart break for a moment, but upon closer inspection.. he saw that Leoruka was not looking at him, but at the stewed meat, and was sobbing. Suddenly feeling a headache coming on. Chase urged Leoruka to get up quickly after eating, then quickly cleaned up the kitchen and left the house to go to his part -time job.
But when I came back, the whole house was suspiciously quiet. It couldn’t be this quiet. Leoruka should have been fussing over why I was so late, or at least the dog should have run out with thumping footsteps and wagged its tail. But why was it so quiet? With an ominous feeling, I hurriedly put down my bag and raised my voice.
(Hey, Leo! Where are you? What happened to you again…?)
(Bam…)[2]Puppy’s sound
(…puppy?)
(…Huh?)
(This puppy… Where are you!)
I could vaguely hear the sound of them crawling in, but I couldn’t see the puppy. My fever was rising, so I searched the small house, but I couldn’t find it, so I started to get worried.
(Graang…)
