The Lubel Kingdom’s army noticed our approach and immediately assumed a combat stance. The main guns of their warships all turned in our direction. However, they still showed no signs of firing.

From the cockpit of the Arleo II, I watched the situation unfold, puzzled as to why the Lubel army hadn’t fired yet, despite pointing their gun turrets at us. I turned to Jean for an explanation.

“They’re simply out of range. The main guns of the Yamato and Fugaku are custom-built with Rafishal’s design. There are few countries that have ship cannons to match them.”

“If that’s the case, can’t we just fire the Yamato’s main gun from here and attack them unilaterally?”

“Exactly. The Yamato’s main guns are already prepped. Commence full-scale bombardment! Aim directly at the enemy ride carriers and fire at will!”

With Jean’s command, the Yamato’s main gun immediately opened fire. The shells were launched at high speed, tracing a straight path like a laser beam, and struck the enemy’s ride carrier. The massive ride carrier exploded violently, disintegrating into pieces with a single hit.

Unable to do anything, the enemy ships were sunk one after another by the Yamato’s barrage. Perhaps in a panic, the enemy began deploying their magical machines in a hurry.

“Yamato, continue bombarding the enemy ride carriers! All other ships, target the approaching magical machine units! Magical machine units, launch all units! Prepare for interception, and make sure not to get caught in our ship artillery!”

Jean, who had been entrusted with command of the entire fleet by Ranelle, gave these instructions to the other ships. Perhaps because his track record was well-established in this country, the Federal Regular Army obediently followed the orders of a mere mercenary.

Relentless ship artillery fire rained down on the approaching enemy magical machine units. The Amurian Federation’s warships were equipped with Salamander cannons provided by Rafishal. This powerful firepower could inflict fatal damage even on Highlander-class magical machines, shattering the heavily armored magical machines of Lubel to pieces.

The enemy ride carriers, which had been receiving one-sided bombardment from the Yamato’s ship artillery, began moving toward us in an attempt to attack. We gave the order without mercy.

“There’s no need to give the enemy a chance to attack! Target the approaching enemy ships and fire at will!”

The enemy’s main guns were certainly a threat. While the Yamato’s super armor could withstand their attacks, the other Federal Regular Army ships would suffer damage if hit. We had to be ruthless to protect our allies.

The speed of the Yamato’s main gunfire outmatched the maneuverability of the enemy ships. The enemy ships were mercilessly bombarded and sunk before they could even get within range to attack.

The enemy magical machine units, unable to receive support from their ship artillery, were left defenseless, continuously taking our fire. Advancing forward became difficult, and they could barely defend themselves with their shields. However, the shields weren’t invincible; after multiple hits, they would be destroyed, leaving the machines defenseless and easily annihilated one by one.

“I guess I won’t have a role to play in this battle.”

Feeling a sense of complete victory from the one-sided ship artillery fire, I said this, but Jean immediately scolded me.

“You idiot, don’t think the situation will stay like this forever. If the Valkia Empire comes rushing in, the situation will change, and Lubel might also change their tactics.”

I couldn’t argue with such sound logic. It looks like I won’t be able to relax after all.
