The Largo Squad, though consisting of only 300 units, had successfully withstood a relentless wave attack of nearly a thousand enemy machines. Their losses were minimal, and they could still hold their ground.
As the battle raged on, the Pharma Squad arrived in the skies above the defensive position to provide support for the embattled Largo Squad.
“Fire all weapons!!”
At Pharma’s command, a barrage of arrows rained down from every unit in the Pharma Squad. With their specialized long-range capabilities, these Magicrafts, designed for archery, delivered powerful strikes that pierced through even heavily armored enemies, swiftly cutting them down. The enemy forces, focused entirely on their assault against the Largo Squad, were caught off guard by the sudden aerial attack and began to fall one after another.
Seizing the opening created by the Pharma Squad, Largo’s α-Ganesha moved out on its own. Though primarily built for defense, α-Ganesha’s offensive capabilities were not to be underestimated. Its close-range area attacks, in particular, were devastating in both power and reach, enough to make any enemy commander go pale at the mere thought of facing it.
As α-Ganesha broke from the defensive formation, it stomped the ground with immense force and unleashed a magical strike. A wave of energy fanned out in a sweeping arc from its body, mowing down enemy units in rapid succession. Because the enemy was packed tightly together, α-Ganesha’s single attack obliterated a significant number of them.
Witnessing α-Ganesha’s overwhelming combat power firsthand, the enemy forces visibly wavered. At that moment, another round of Pharma Squad’s arrow barrage rained down upon them, further pushing the enemy into disarray. The front lines began to crumble entirely.
Realizing the sheer threat posed by the combined might of the Largo and Pharma Squads, the enemy finally decided to retreat, pulling back to reorganize their forces.
“As expected of an A-rank unit. They’ve quickly grasped the battlefield situation and adapted. Their next attack won’t be so easy to deal with. Inform Largo and Pharma of this.”
“If the attacks are going to intensify, shouldn’t we send reinforcements?”
“Unfortunately, we don’t have the luxury of doing that. Look over there—other enemy units are starting to move as well.”
Whether in response to a request for reinforcements from the enemy division or simply because they had been waiting for the right moment, additional enemy forces began mobilizing all at once.
For now, only the forces of the Raddle Axis Alliance were engaged, but if the Elysian Empire were to enter the fray as well, the battlefield would turn into a true three-way struggle, and no amount of troops would be sufficient.
Three major enemy forces had begun their advance: a regiment-sized unit approaching from the northwest, two divisions moving in from the southwest, and another two battalions marching toward the mountainside where Kiyone and her forces were stationed.
The regiment-sized unit was headed to reinforce the enemy division fighting against Largo, while the two divisions from the southwest were closing in on their own position. Frankly speaking, attacking the main force of the Musou Iron Cavalry Corps with just two divisions was a severe underestimation of their strength. They would soon regret their arrogance.
“Emina, use stealth to ambush the enemy forces heading our way and throw them into disarray. After that, the Sword Saint’s unit and the Aljuna Squad will eliminate them in one decisive strike.”
The surrounding enemy forces could move at any moment. It was best to crush them quickly before the situation escalated further.
