I Was Too Ruthless to the Scumbag So My Mother-in-Law Begged Me to Split From the Family Chapter 6

Chapter 6: I Give You Face, But You Don’t Want It

The three sisters immediately panicked. “Mom, what should we do? The village head is here with people!”

Jiang Jiuyue sneered, injecting some of her powers into them and signaling them to hide in the mountains. She didn’t want them to get caught in the crossfire if a fight broke out.

Jiang Bao’er was reluctant to leave. Jiang Jiuyue sighed. “You three are holding me back here. You’re dragging me down.”

After hearing this, Jiang Zhen’er and Jiang Bao’er had no choice but to grab Jiang Yu’er’s hand and run into the mountains.

Jiang Jiuyue walked into the Liang household, scanning the scene. The village head was sitting in the main room, and about ten strong men stood in the courtyard. Du Jinhua stood proudly in front of them, looking at her with a smug expression.

“Jiang Jiuyue, I want to see how long you can act so arrogantly!”

Du Jinhua’s voice was filled with excitement, her breath quickened as she looked back at the village head. “Village head, hurry and have them capture this bitch Jiang Jiuyue!”

The village head stood up, shouting at Jiang Jiuyue, “Jiang Jiuyue! You have abused your mother-in-law, that’s a serious crime of unfilial behavior! Do you even realize what you’ve done?”

Jiang Jiuyue coldly walked forward, and the dozen or so strong men, sensing her formidable presence, instinctively took a step back in fear.

She stepped into the main room, sneering at the village head. “A crime? What crime have I committed? There’s an old saying you must have heard: If someone doesn’t harm me, I won’t harm them. But if someone does harm me, not only will I destroy their whole family, I’ll even dig up their ancestors’ graves!

The village head was so shocked by her words that his beard shook. “Y-you… Jiang Jiuyue, you’re insane!”

Jiang Jiuyue tilted her head and looked at him. “Yes, I’m insane. So you’d better get your people out of here quickly. If you don’t, I can’t guarantee you’ll all leave here in one piece.”

Her attitude enraged the village head. No one in Shanghe Village had ever dared speak to him like this before!

“Grab that crazy woman!”

The strong men in the yard, though intimidated by Jiang Jiuyue, reluctantly followed the village head’s command and bravely advanced.

Jiang Jiuyue reached out and grabbed the village head’s beard, lifting him up by it and tossing him aside.

The village head landed right in front of the strong men and quickly scrambled to his feet, pointing at Jiang Jiuyue and shouting, “Grab her!”

The strong men circled around the village head and charged forward, but Jiang Jiuyue casually picked up a wooden bench, knocking a few of them down with ease.

“Tsk, is this the best you’ve got? Are these the kind of people who go around doing someone else’s dirty work? Are they just offering themselves up for slaughter?”

Jiang Jiuyue ruthlessly mocked the strong men. Then, with Du Jinhua and the village head watching in shock, she nearly vanished from their sight, reappearing right in front of them.

“I gave you face, but you didn’t want it. Now I won’t hold back.”

Jiang Jiuyue raised her foot and, with a swift motion, kicked the village head so hard that he flew more than ten meters, crashing heavily outside the courtyard gate.

If the village head had been a good man, Jiang Jiuyue would have tried to reason with him, but since he hadn’t done a single good deed since taking office, she had no intention of showing mercy.

Relying on his son-in-law, who worked as a clerk in the county office, the village head had become a local tyrant in Shanghe Village. He would support whoever paid him bribes and even forced people to throw themselves into the river. He was rotten to the core.

The fact that Du Jinhua had managed to bring him here likely meant she was hiding silver elsewhere, as there was no way the village head would help her without money.

As she watched the strong men sprawled out in front of the main room and the village head struggling to get up, Du Jinhua was stunned.

She never expected things to turn out this way—how could more than ten strong men not take down Jiang Jiuyue?

Just as Du Jinhua was about to run, Jiang Jiuyue grabbed her by the collar.

“Is your arm back in place? Looks like it’s still intact. Let me check if it holds.”

With those words, Du Jinhua’s left arm made a sharp cracking sound.

“Oops, my bad! I used too much force and broke the bone.”

Jiang Jiuyue gave an apologetic look, but she didn’t loosen her grip. “Let me see if I can set it again.”

Du Jinhua was in so much pain that she nearly passed out, too weak even to scream.

Jiang Jiuyue continued for a while, but then regretfully released Du Jinhua. “Sorry, I’m not skilled enough. It’s completely shattered now, and it can’t be put back together.”

Du Jinhua rolled her eyes and collapsed on the ground, unable to respond to Jiang Jiuyue anymore.

Jiang Jiuyue then turned her attention to the strong men who were still lying on the ground. “Are you all waiting for me to kick you out one by one? Hurry up and get out!”

The strong men quickly scrambled to their feet and ran outside.

They hadn’t gotten up before because they were afraid Jiang Jiuyue might beat them again, but now that they had been given the opportunity, they ran as fast as they could.

As they passed the village head, who was still lying by the door, they silently cursed him. If it weren’t for the village head calling them here, they wouldn’t have been beaten so badly.

Despite their grumbling, they did help the village head back up.

The village head, still in so much pain he could barely stand, saw Jiang Jiuyue coldly watching him from the yard. He trembled and said, “Jiang Jiuyue, you slut, how dare you beat me like this! I’ll go find my son-in-law and have a good talk with him!”

Jiang Jiuyue wasn’t worried at all. If her son-in-law dared to come, she would make sure he knew his place and acknowledge her as the boss—just wait and see.

Once the village head was helped away, Jiang Jiuyue turned around and kicked open the door to the main house. “Everyone dead? No one’s cooking?”

Chen Cuihong quickly opened the door. “There… there’s no food at home, we can’t cook…”

Jiang Jiuyue went back to her room, grabbed two bowls of noodles, and handed them to her. “Go cook four bowls of noodles for me. I want to eat when I come back.”

Chen Cuihong quickly took the bowls and dashed into the kitchen, not daring to stop as she passed by Du Jinhua, not even daring to look at her.

Once Jiang Jiuyue saw her go into the kitchen to start cooking, she turned and headed up the mountain to bring her three daughters down.

At the moment, the three sisters were hiding on the mountain, panicked and scared. They had no idea what was happening with their mother.

Although their mother was strong, if she couldn’t defeat so many people and got captured, they were certain she would be tortured to death.

Thinking of this possibility, Jiang Zhen’er couldn’t help but start crying.

Her cries set off the youngest, Jiang Yu’er, who also began crying, while Jiang Bao’er tried to comfort her two sisters while holding back her own tears, occasionally wiping her eyes with her sleeve.

“What should we do? If they catch Mom, she’s done for! Grandma will definitely beat her to death!”

Jiang Zhen’er cried loudly, terrified. If they lost their mother, what would they do?

Jiang Bao’er clenched her small fists. “Then we’ll fight them! If it comes to it, we’ll die with Mom!”

Jiang Yu’er just cried, “Mom! I want Mom!”

Jiang Zhen’er hugged Jiang Yu’er, and the three sisters cried together as if their mother had really been captured and was about to be killed.

Jiang Jiuyue climbed the mountain and followed the sounds of her daughters’ cries. When she saw them crying so pitifully, she helplessly said, “Don’t cry. Mom is fine, okay?”
