Chapter 75

It’s a simple story.

Life was born from the ocean. That was about 3.6 billion years ago when I was still living on Earth in 2022. Then about 420 million years ago, vegetation started to grow on the land. 

The ocean was faster for about 3.2 billion years. Breath of life was already sprouting in the ocean. It wasn’t strange that the lifeform in the ocean became more intelligent and built civilization faster than the lifeform living on the ground. 

Civilization in the ocean was created about 251.010.000 years ago. Undersea people, the people who dwelled in the depth of the sea, continued to develop their civilization for 10.000 years. They moved the continents covering the earth at will and reached their hand toward space. And then, the undersea people had successfully unraveled most of the principles in this world. 

Then that day finally came. 25100 years ago from 2022. A mass extinction called the P-T boundary happened. The extinction rate of all living organisms was about 90%. The greatest mass extinction in history. 

The thing that caused that mass extinction was the fight between “us”, the undersea people. 

In this planet, in this galaxy, there was no auto purificatory activity. No, there was not any. The world quietly got destroyed and a number of parallel worlds was created from the remains. In the worlds created from the remains, there was still the leftover of the original world. Along with the predetermined principle of the original world and the disaster that the original world had given birth to. Everything remained as the residue of the broken world. 

Evil god. It was an existence that suddenly came to be. What that being was doing in the already destroyed world… I didn’t have the answer for that. Was it a chimera or a monster created from the principle or a being that was once a human? It was a being beyond our understanding. 

But, that being definitely existed. Us, undersea people, that were exploring the parallel worlds, found the evil god in one of the parallel worlds and then we summoned that being to this world. 

What a thing we’ve done. 

The strength possessed by the evil god was overwhelming. Even the undersea people who could alter the principle to some extent were no match against it. The battle against the undersea people and the evil god was a grand one. And… That fight caused the P-T boundary to happen. 

P-T boundary. This was where everything started and everything ended. The undersea people took most of the evil god’s power and cornered it to the brink of death. In return, the lifeform that lived in the depth of the sea perished and the civilization came to an end. Everything died, leaving only Alaine and I behind. 

We brought everything to an end. We ended the battle. 

And then… For Alaine and I….The battle to clean up the residue started. To defeat the remains of the good-for-nothing evil god. 

“Man… Evil god. Let’s end this soon, okay? Remnants of the remnants… You can’t even laugh at it. Just what is with remnants of the remnants of the remnants anyway?”

Cracking a joke, I flew toward the place Alaine was. I returned to Alaine, who was almost completely corrupted by the evil god. 

“Now then, let’s do it. I’m not going to hear it even if you try to beg for your life.”
