I’d Rather Take A Bullet Than A Knife
I’d Rather Take A Bullet Than A Knife Chapter 2

Some people suggested I take care of business first, but Jason didn’t seem to mind, and he certainly didn’t want any unpleasantness between us over it.

“It looks like my dear friend is up to his old tricks again—can’t resist a pretty boy. Hurry up and bring him to Mr. Ji,” Jason said.

Someone pressed a gun against Jiang Rang’s lower back and brought him before me, expertly kicking him to his knees.

I remained calm and natural, lifting my foot to press against his chin.

He obediently raised his head, his eyes red as he looked up at me.

“What now? Will you undress yourself, or should I help you?” I asked.

Several men rudely moved to restrain Jiang Rang, but his years as an undercover officer kicked in, and he quickly stood up to resist.

Unexpectedly, a gun fell from his body.

In an instant, countless dark gun barrels were aimed at Jiang Rang. Even Jason’s expression changed as he stood up.

“Damn it, is he a cop?” Jason hissed.

Jiang Rang moved quickly, knocking one man down and attempting to grab a gun.

But someone was faster—stepping on his hand and pinning him down.

Jason spat on the ground. “Still a tough guy, huh?”

He turned to me with a drawn-out, mocking tone. “Mr. Ji, you discovered him. How should we handle this?”

In front of the crowd, I walked over to Jiang Rang without a care in the world. I bent down and picked up the gun.

I heard Jiang Rang’s voice tremble softly: “You’re still alive…”

Unmoved, I traced my fingers along the cold gun barrel.

In the next moment, I pressed the gun to Jiang Rang’s temple.

His face was bloody from the earlier hit, and though he was kneeling, he struggled to stand, only to be pinned down by others.

Everyone watched this scene unfold with morbid amusement—no one intended to save him.

Seeing the resignation in his eyes, almost as if death would be a relief, Jiang Rang’s voice was hoarse as he spoke.

“Ji Huaichuan, dying by your hand is fine. I owe you nothing…”

“Bang—”

As I pressed the gun to his head, I let out a soft noise with my lips.

The expected gunshot never came. Jiang Rang looked up in disbelief, seeing the smile on my lips.

“It’s just a useless gun.

“Looks like this gentleman enjoys playing pranks on everyone.”

Jason raised his hand, and his men slowly lowered their guns, but he still kept a watchful eye on Jiang Rang.

It wasn’t until external forces arrived and surrounded the place that the tension eased.

“Routine inspection. Everyone inside, listen up. If we find weapons, shoot on sight…”

The men Jason had stationed outside were well-prepared, nodding and gesturing for me and Jason to follow them inside.

I glanced once more at the disheveled figure of Jiang Rang on the ground.

Surrounded by people, I walked into the building without looking back, casually tossing two key pieces of the gun in my hand.

Anyone with experience could tell right away—the items I was tossing were two critical parts of the gun.

After the unexpected incident, the transaction was halted.

Someone whispered something in Jason’s ear, causing him to flash me a sly smile.

“Mr. Ji, I’ve prepared a special gift for you, personally. I think you’ll like it.”

Back in my room, I sensed the presence of someone else.

I cautiously slowed my pace, but before I could react, a tall figure forcefully pinned me against the wall, kissing me so fiercely that I almost couldn’t breathe.

I frowned slightly. “Jiang Rang, take it easy…”

The person in the darkness didn’t respond. His hands tightly gripped my waist, pressing me against the wall, kissing me repeatedly, as if desperately seeking confirmation of something.

“Ji Huaichuan, why did you help me?”

My voice was lazy, with a hint of weariness. “I’m not interested in burying an ex-lover. Where you die is none of my business. But if it’s by my hand, it disgusts me.”

At that, Jiang Rang pushed me onto the bed, his actions rough.

Before I could resist, he took me, violently and relentlessly.

Afterward, seeing the scattered contraceptive wrappers on the ground, I curled up and lit a cigarette with mocking amusement.

“You’re still as lousy as ever.”

Jiang Rang, still caught in the aftermath of desire, kissed my lips softly.

“And you, still as insufferable as ever.”

His lips gradually moved downward.

The bullet scar on my left shoulder was clearly visible, and he kissed it with great care, sending a shiver down my spine as I let out a soft gasp.

“Does it still hurt?”

“It hasn’t hurt in a long time,” I replied, my voice low. “I’m quite pleased with my body, even this bullet scar.”

My fingers, rough from handling guns, brushed against his face.

“But that doesn’t mean I’ll tolerate you. I value my life. Anyone who tries to take it—I’ll never tolerate their existence.”

Jiang Rang’s damp hair fell over his forehead, his voice soft.

“Jason suggested I become your lover. If you kick me out now, it wouldn’t be in your best interest.”

I looked at him, amused. “And what do you propose?”

Jiang Rang leaned over, his arms powerfully braced on either side of me.

“Let’s go again.”

The next morning, I was in no mood.

I kicked the culprit to the floor first thing.

He rolled on the ground before getting up, looking at me with an innocent expression.

“What’s wrong? Why are you so angry first thing in the morning?”

I pulled up my pants and shot a cold glance at Jiang Rang, my voice hoarse.

“Once is a normal need. Seven times is a disease—it needs treatment.”

Stepping outside, Jason’s men were already waiting.

Due to yesterday’s incident, today’s transaction was extra cautious.

Two armed men stood guard at the door as two suitcases were opened, revealing rows of the latest firearms.

I gave them a cursory glance. “Nice stuff. Where’s it from?”

Jason didn’t bother hiding it, shrugging with a smirk.

“Smuggled. A shipment from Port M. You guys are lucky—this is the only batch.”

I raised my hand, signaling the men behind me to open the cases.

Eight boxes full of cash, all in US dollars.

Jason whistled, clearly satisfied.

But before we could verify the money, a gunshot rang out from behind the door.

Jason immediately snapped to attention, barking orders.

“Who fired?”

One of the men outside stumbled in, his face covered in blood. “The cops are here!”

As Jason rushed out to assess the situation, I signaled to my men, and they grabbed the cash and made a run for it.
