Liang Zhen was slow to realize it, but when his number of fans skyrocketed, he thought it was a reward for his hard work. Finally, people were recognizing his musical talent. He was very excited but managed to restrain himself when telling Shao Mingyin, trying to appear mature and composed. Shao Mingyin was even calmer, merely saying “Oh” and showing him the video.
After watching the video, Liang Zhen felt a mix of emotions. Sitting on the bed with his head in his hands, he looked like a husky caught in the act, biting down on something and making an “emmmm” expression. If it was just about popularity, this was actually a good thing. Liang Zhen’s songs were all paid downloads, and being on the trending list caused the download numbers to soar. The earnings from the past few days alone were enough for him to buy an additional 0.05 square meters of space.
However, Liang Zhen was still worried about one thing.
“It won’t affect you, right?” Liang Zhen asked, his brow slightly furrowed with concern.
He knew that being a police officer wasn’t the type of job that welcomed media attention. But he had just received the final payment from his last performance, which was enough for the down payment on a house. Liang Zhen was so happy, and the discount on the house was only available for one more day. So, as soon as Shao Mingyin got off work, he dragged him to the sales center without a word, fearing it would close. Liang Zhen was always in a rush, and Shao Mingyin didn’t ask where they were going. If he had known it was to pay the down payment, he would have changed out of his uniform first.
When Liang Zhen asked this question, Shao Mingyin had just come out of the shower, wearing only his police pants because he forgot to bring a change of clothes. As he rummaged through the wardrobe, Liang Zhen hugged him from behind, resting his head on his shoulder, inhaling the scent of his shower gel.
Shao Mingyin nudged him with his elbow, implying that he couldn’t change his clothes like this. Liang Zhen responded with a nasal “Hmm~” and tightened his embrace around Shao Mingyin’s lean waist.
Shao Mingyin smiled, stroking Liang Zhen’s hair with one hand. The room was small, and they stumbled backwards together like conjoined twins, falling onto the bed. Shao Mingyin had already taken out his clothes and was about to change when Liang Zhen grabbed his wrists, flipped him over, and pinned him down, asking plaintively, “Why haven’t you answered me yet?”
Shao Mingyin replied, “Do you really want to know?”
Liang Zhen pouted slightly, “Yes! What did your precinct chief say?”
Shao Mingyin said, “The chief told me to keep my partner in check.”
Liang Zhen’s eyes lit up, “What? Your chief acknowledged that I’m your partner!”
Shao Mingyin: “…”
Shao Mingyin was still pinned down by Liang Zhen like prey. Although he had been working in the Wenzhou Mushan Street precinct office for five or six years, he was still a police academy graduate. Liang Zhen, being taller and bigger, wouldn’t be able to restrain him if he wanted to resist. But Shao Mingyin didn’t. He didn’t urge Liang Zhen to let go either. After a few seconds of silence, he said, “I don’t have to go to the precinct tomorrow.”
Liang Zhen frowned, sensing something was off.
Shao Mingyin continued, “I’m suspended. I won’t be going to work tomorrow.”
Liang Zhen thought, Oh no, this is bad. It’s just a badge number, the chief doesn’t have to be so harsh. He rolled over and lay on the bed, looking at Shao Mingyin seriously, “How long is the suspension?”
“It’s not that serious. Lately, a lot of young girls have been coming to the precinct, not to report crimes but to see me. This is indeed a bit of a problem. I still have unused annual leave, so I filed a report saying I wanted to take a break.”
Liang Zhen asked, “How long is ‘a break’?”
Shao Mingyin thought for a moment, uncertain, “A month?”
“A month?! Then you can come with me on tour!”
Shao Mingyin: “…”
“I knew it. After all these years, which cat stuck in a tree on the street hasn’t been rescued by you? How could the chief bear to suspend you? Turns out it’s just a disguised vacation.” Liang Zhen said, leaning in closer and asking, “Is it paid leave?”
Before Shao Mingyin could respond, Liang Zhen patted his chest righteously, “Even if it’s unpaid, it’s okay. I’ll support you!”
Shao Mingyin: “…”
Liang Zhen took the opportunity to bury his face in Shao Mingyin’s chest, rubbing against his skin, “I’m serious, I’ll support you!”
Shao Mingyin, stroking his hair, laughed helplessly, “Take care of yourself first, kiddo.”
Hearing the words “kiddo,” Liang Zhen had nothing more to say. In retaliation, he licked Shao Mingyin’s chest. Shao Mingyin tried to push him away, but Liang Zhen quickly captured a spot on his chest, biting and sucking on it.
“Liang Zhen…” Shao Mingyin called, his voice a bit hoarse, “Stop fooling around.”
“I’m not fooling around.” Liang Zhen reluctantly released that spot, then traced it with his fingers. Shao Mingyin’s skin wasn’t particularly fair, but it had a soft glow under the light. As Liang Zhen played, he became more aroused, sliding his other hand from Shao Mingyin’s slim waist down to his firm butt. When Shao Mingyin tried to move away, Liang Zhen pressed forward, the outline of his erection clearly visible through his pants.
Liang Zhen proudly exclaimed, “Twenty-one! I’m twenty-one!” Then, hugging Shao Mingyin, he muttered, “I’m twenty-one! Not a kid!”
