When he came to, Jiang Baiyu found himself kneeling on the ground, drenched in cold sweat. One of his temporary neighbors was pouring water into his mouth while the other checked his pulse.

Noticing that he had regained consciousness, the one feeding him water quickly asked, “Little friend, how do you feel?”

Jiang Baiyu’s eyes were still a bit unfocused, and his thoughts sluggish. He sensed that the water being given to him was not ordinary; it was cool and refreshing, and he instinctively took a few more sips. Sure enough, it cleared away the lingering confusion, and his mind became clearer.

The one checking his pulse frowned, “It seems there’s nothing wrong.”

Seeing Jiang Baiyu’s eyes regain their clarity, he let go of his hand, “I’m sorry, my knowledge is limited, and I couldn’t find the cause.”

Jiang Baiyu shook his head, just about to speak when suddenly, an unusual phenomenon occurred in the sky. The space rippled in layers, and a massive object slowly appeared above Magic Exorcism Town, casting a shadow that enveloped the ground and awakening a sense of fear.

The residents of Magic Exorcism Town looked up, dumbfounded, and once they came to their senses, they panicked, unsure of what was happening with such a gigantic thing.

Before they could react, a beam of light shot down from the massive object, exploding like fireworks, rapidly spreading out and then falling down, covering the entire Magic Exorcism Town. Jiang Baiyu felt a force pulling him, lifting him off the ground and towards the enormous object in the sky.

The young man feeding him water was quick to grab him, but the others weren’t so lucky, floating into the air like cattle and sheep awaiting slaughter, screaming in terror and flailing their arms.

“Damn it! The Chen family actually wants to wipe us out!”

“They’re here so fast!”

The two looked extremely grim, watching helplessly as the residents of Magic Exorcism Town were lifted into the air, about to be sucked into the hovering giant.

That magical artifact was like a moving aerial fortress; once sucked in, it would be no different from falling into the Chen family’s territory.

What fate awaited them, what consequences would follow—one could easily guess with their toes; it was bound to be a one-way trip.

“Beasts!”

As soon as he spoke, he formed a complex hand seal, and a blinding light erupted, shattering the Chen family’s spell that was capturing the residents of Magic Exorcism Town. The residents being pulled into the sky fell back to the ground like dumplings, and just before they hit the ground, a soft force caught them, allowing them to land safely.

A giant sword shot up from the ground, quickly thrusting towards the massive object in the sky, but it was blocked by a layer of defensive barrier.

After a stalemate of several seconds, the barrier cracked, spreading outwards.

“Impudent!”

A voice of reprimand echoed from the flying magical artifact, deafening.

An invisible force clashed with the giant sword, and the immense pressure spread outwards. Jiang Baiyu held his breath, his eyes wide open, not daring to blink.

“I thought it was someone important, but it turns out to be the stray dog of Tianji Sect! A rat scurrying around, and yet you dare to act like a hero and meddle in my Chen family’s affairs!”

“Stop now, and I’ll pretend I didn’t see anything. If you insist on being stubborn and interfering, don’t blame me for being rude!”

The young man maintaining the hand seal coldly questioned, “What do you intend to do by abducting all the residents of Magic Exorcism Town?”

His voice was loud, yet it rang clearly in everyone’s ears.

The panicked crowd surged towards the edge of the town, but what awaited them was not hope, but the scythe of death.

Those who stayed in the town would be crushed, while those who escaped would have their heads taken by the Chen family’s assassins.

The other side had no intention of letting anyone go, deliberately leaving a gap to make people think there was a way out, playing with everyone like a cat with a mouse.

Realizing this, the young man confronting the flying magical artifact was filled with rage; no matter what he did, the outcome was death!

“Hahahahaha! Have you realized? With just the two of you, you can’t protect everyone! Even you two remnants of Tianji Sect won’t survive today!”

The moment they saw it, both of them were taken aback.

Though the people surrounding them didn’t know the origin of the dagger, they could tell from the spiritual light that it was no ordinary item.

Before the greed in their eyes could surface, one person reflexively lunged for it.
