I’m Done Being In Love With You Chapter 6.1

Chapter 6.1 Secret

Jian Meng received an invitation, a card for Ji Jing’an’s company’s year-end party. She got up early to wash up and saw an envelope slipped under the door.

When she opened the door, there was nothing outside.

Jian Meng thought this was Ji Jing’an giving her a way out.

She didn’t want to make a fuss, so she was prepared to take it.

Jian Meng called Ji Jing’an, calling twice, both times it was busy. He must have been busy.

So Jian Meng gave up and decided to go directly. After getting dressed up, she took the invitation and went to the hotel where the party was held.

Ji Jing’an was right, she was almost out of touch with society. She didn’t recognize all these people. She didn’t even know where to go in the dimly lit, glamorous atmosphere.

At that moment, she suddenly couldn’t wait to see Ji Jing’an. At least with him by her side, she wouldn’t be so lost.

Jian Meng’s so-called dressing up was nothing special amidst the short, sexy, and glamorous dresses, or the custom-made long gowns.

No one recognized her as Ji Jing’an’s wife, and no one would guess who she was.

Jian Meng followed closely behind, searching for Ji Jing’an, until she saw him in a private room on the second floor.

He was sitting next to a woman with an extraordinary aura, a red dress, black long hair, every move exuding elegance.

Ji Jing’an was holding her waist.

Was that Lin Qing?

Indeed, she was stunning.

This was the kind of person who was meant to stand beside Ji Jing’an.

Jian Meng felt like a childish fool, ridiculous and annoying…

She couldn’t wait to leave, but as she turned around, she bumped into someone.

Jian Meng looked over, it was a woman in a silver dress with blonde hair. Jian Meng reacted slowly, and after several seconds, she remembered it was Vivian.

“So, how do you feel seeing the scene inside?”

“Did you send me the invitation?” Jian Meng suddenly realized how foolish she was. It was the time when rumors of Ji and Lin’s marriage were at their peak. How would Ji Jing’an let her go out, especially to a company party.

Only Vivian would want her to see all this.

Because she thought Jian Meng would do something?

But what difference would it make if she saw it…

“Do you believe me, they’re discussing their wedding inside.” Vivian’s complexion seemed worse than when she saw her at the company, her eyes were a bit red. Jian Meng guessed what had happened, Ji Jing’an didn’t want her anymore.

Seeing that Jian Meng didn’t react at all, Vivian seemed surprised. She had shared joys and sorrows with Ji Jing’an for so many years, how could she accept him being entangled with another woman…

“You’re too weak! This kind of man, can you let him marry another woman with peace of mind? Don’t you love him? Don’t you feel heartache?” Vivian kept trying to provoke Jian Meng.

Heartbreak?

Pain.

The kind of pain that surpassed even the torment of illness.

“I don’t have the power, nor the will to stop him,” Jian Meng said calmly. After saying this, she was ready to leave.

Vivian suddenly grabbed her arm. “You don’t still think he’ll go easy on you and not abandon you, do you? That day when he rushed out of the house, did he tell you it was something urgent at the company? Ha… Every time you called when we were in bed together, that’s exactly what he’d say. Only a fool like you would believe him!”

“Are you done yet?” The needle wound on Jian Meng’s arm hurt under Vivian’s grip. She wanted to shake her off, but Vivian continued.

“Because that day, I told him I was pregnant.”

Jian Meng froze in place.

“But when he came, without a second thought, he took me to the hospital for an abortion. A man like him, who wouldn’t even spare his own child, how could he be soft-hearted toward a woman? To him, nothing matters more than his interests.”

At that moment, a flood of thoughts overwhelmed Jian Meng. She thought of Ji Jing’an’s cold heart, of an innocent child, and of her miscarriage four years ago that came without any warning…

Vivian noticed Jian Meng’s face turning increasingly pale, her expression blank and lost. She knew she had hit her target.

It was so cold.

Jian Meng had always feared the cold.

She missed the warmth of her hometown in the small southern city.

Back then, Ji Jing’an had been as radiant as the sun.

Now, he was indulgent and icy.

Cheating was one thing, but making someone else pregnant was another. And most of all, he had killed his own child.

Four years ago, Jian Meng had also been pregnant once. But the joy had lasted less than a month before the child was lost. The doctor had concluded it was due to anemia, a condition that made pregnancy difficult.

But looking back now, it didn’t seem so simple.

Blood started flowing from her nose, dripping into the snow beneath her feet, staining it red.

Someone held her up, but she had no strength left. Maybe if she slept for a while, she would wake up to find that none of this had ever happened.

A man in a gray wool coat frowned as he looked at the woman in his arms, gently tapping her face, but she had already lost consciousness.

Jian Meng opened her eyes and saw a grand chandelier above her.

This wasn’t her home.

She jolted awake, sitting up in a panic, struggling to support her body. There was no one in the room.

The room was a bit messy, but stylishly decorated. The walls were adorned with model sports cars, and transparent acrylic boxes filled with shoes were stacked high…
