I’m Done Being In Love With You
I’m Done Being In Love With You Chapter 6.2

Chapter 6.2 Secret

So high.

Lin Chenyang had just returned to the living room with takeout when he saw the older sister he had saved last night standing at the bedroom door, looking at him anxiously.

“You’re awake?”

“Who are you?” Jian Meng felt fearful and confused again.

“At least I’m not a bad person. You had a fever and fainted last night, and I saved you.” Lin Chenyang shook the plastic bag in his hand. “Come over and eat.”

Jian Meng remained motionless.

Lin Chenyang sighed. “Don’t worry, if I wanted to do something, I would have done it last night. Besides… with you looking half-dead like this, I wouldn’t dare do anything.”

As Jian Meng slowly recalled the last memories of the night, she remembered someone supporting her when she fainted.

“Thank you.” Jian Meng bowed slightly in gratitude, picked up her bag from the sofa, and prepared to leave. Lin Chenyang stood up immediately as he saw her about to leave.

“Where are you going? Your fever hasn’t gone down yet. I just bought the medicine, and the meal is for two people. What will I do if you don’t eat?”

Jian Meng’s mind was in turmoil. She touched her hot forehead, thinking it was just a fever caused by illness, and it would soon go away.

“Thank you for saving me. I… don’t feel well, I need to take medicine. I have to go home now.”

Seeing Jian Meng’s pale face and the amount of nosebleed she had last night, Lin Chenyang realized it might not be as simple as a fever.

He put down his chopsticks and walked over directly. Jian Meng retreated anxiously, stumbled on something, and her bag fell to the ground.

Lin Chenyang looked at her helplessly. “No, I mean, sister, what are you afraid of? I’m only twenty years old, young and handsome, not interested in someone like you…”

Jian Meng felt slightly embarrassed, and she bent down to pick up her bag.

Lin Chenyang realized his words were inappropriate after saying them and explained with a strange expression, “I’ll get the keys to take you home. You can’t get a taxi here.”

“No, thank you.” Jian Meng pushed the door to leave. As she was about to close the door, a hand stopped it, and the young boy looked at her with a smile.

“I’ll take you.”

“No need.”

“I insist. I like good people to the end.”

Jian Meng sighed. This kid was so persistent.

“Sister, where do you live?” Lin Chenyang couldn’t stop talking in the car.

“In the X district.” The pain in Jian Meng’s body was spreading uncontrollably. She tried to steady her breathing, gripping the handle on the back seat.

“Do you live there?” Lin Chenyang was smarter this time, not speaking without thinking, but he couldn’t help but wonder. Jian Meng didn’t look like she lived in a wealthy area with her attire.

Could it be…

“Last night, you woke up in the middle of the night crying and talking in your sleep. Were you… dumped?”

Jian Meng froze for a moment, staring blankly at Lin Chenyang.

“This is nothing. I break up with someone every three days, have a big fight every five. Say goodbye and move on, the next one will be even better.”

Jian Meng closed her eyes in pain, waves of anguish crashing over her. Her lower lip was almost torn from how hard she had been biting it.

“I can’t leave him.”

“What do you mean you can’t leave… or is he supporting you?” Lin Chenyang glanced at her through the rearview mirror, his eyes now holding a hint of something unreadable.

“Why am I even bothering to explain anything to a kid?” Jian Meng turned her head slightly, unwilling to say more.

They were not far from District X, and soon they arrived. As Jian Meng stepped out of the car, she could barely stand. She had only worn a simple black dress and a khaki coat when she went out the previous night, and the morning air was still quite chilly.

“Thanks.” Jian Meng felt that, even though this kid was annoying, his good intentions were still good intentions. She sincerely thanked him.

“Sis, rich people aren’t as good as you think. Don’t give your heart to them,” Lin Chenyang suddenly called out from behind. He naively thought that Jian Meng was just another foolish woman trapped in a dream, and he couldn’t help but offer her a word of caution.

Jian Meng didn’t turn back.

Once again, she willingly stepped into the firepit.

Just like in all those years past.

After seeing the wedding invitation, Shen Anyun went to confront Ji Jing’an.

“I don’t care if you mess around, but are you seriously planning to marry Lin Qing? What about your wife?”

Ji Jing’an casually poured a glass of wine for Shen Anyun and said, “We’re not registering the marriage, it’s just a wedding for show. It’s all about interests. Lin Qing has someone she loves too.”

“I’m not asking about you, and I’m not asking about Lin Qing! I’m asking about Jian Meng! What are you going to do about her?”

“She won’t know.”

“And if she does?”

“Well, I’m doing this to give her a better life. It’s not like I’m leaving her.”

“Ji Jing’an, you sure know how to twist things.”

Ji Jing’an chuckled, “Businessmen are all good at twisting things.”

“But you should understand that love isn’t business.”

Ji Jing’an didn’t quite grasp what Shen Anyun meant. He glanced at the elegant wedding invitation lying on the table and could only think about the benefits the wedding would bring him in a week.
