Chapter 9 Wedding
Jian Meng looked at the two men in front of him, both with ice packs on, one with a bruised nose and the other with a swollen eye, feeling tired and sighing.
“You two don’t know each other, so why fight?”
If the nurse hadn’t stopped them, they would still be fighting.
Gu Chuan was furious, “Who knows where this little lunatic came from?”
Lin Chenyang was slightly less injured, but even if he was at fault, he found it annoying, “Who are you calling a little lunatic? I thought you were…” Lin Chenyang glanced at Jian Meng and fell silent.
Gu Chuan didn’t want to cause trouble for Jian Meng. Otherwise, he would have contacted a lawyer long ago to teach this brat a lesson.
Jian Meng watched the two acting like children, one sulking on each side, looking indignant. Unable to hold back, she suddenly burst out laughing.
In fact, the hospital and home were equally warm, but Jian Meng felt cold at home, probably because it held too many years of loneliness and bitterness. On the other hand, the hospital had doctors, nurses, and two not-so-bright men, making it lively and warm.
However, soon she couldn’t laugh anymore.
After lunch, Jian Meng started coughing up blood. She coughed up a lot of blood, staining a large area of the white sheet red. In the end, with her eyes blurred, she lay on the hospital bed being taken to the emergency room, the oxygen mask on her mouth showing no signs of mist.
A tear rolled down her cheek, not knowing if it was from the pain or from remembering something very sad.
The sudden deterioration of her condition panicked Gu Chuan and Lin Chenyang.
For Ji Jing’an, he always thought that a fake marriage was nothing, even if Jian Meng found out, it wouldn’t matter. So he never hid discussing this matter in front of the media.
But when Jian Meng actually found out, he suddenly panicked.
In fact, many things show many signs before they are lost, and Ji Jing’an also had a premonition.
He just didn’t know the reason for his melancholy, nor did he know if it was because of Jian Meng. He just felt some unnamed emotions in his chest, making him restless.
Seeing his unusual mood, Lin Qing approached and asked, “What are you thinking?”
Ji Jing’an snapped out of it. They were taking wedding photos for a fake marriage that both knew wouldn’t last long.
“Nothing.”
“Mr. Ji, I know what you’re thinking about, it’s just about the one at home. I just hope this cooperation doesn’t have any accidents.”
Ji Jing’an nodded slightly, the faint emotion in his eyes dissipated, then turned cold. He smiled, “Of course.”
Lin Qing placed her hand in front of him and said with a smile, “Please.”
Ji Jing’an familiarly took her hand and walked towards the studio.
With Gu Chuan’s help, Lin Chenyang finally didn’t have to run back and forth to the hospital day and night to take care of Jian Meng. But his worry outweighed his comfort, and he would come to the hospital whenever he wasn’t in class.
It was obvious that Gu Chuan was more experienced in taking care of people. He knew when Jian Meng was cold, when she was hot, what she should eat and what she shouldn’t eat. But he could see that Jian Meng smiled more when she was with Lin Chenyang.
Actually, Gu Chuan came to see Jian Meng two days ago mostly to tell her the news of Ji Jing’an’s upcoming wedding.
But when he saw Jian Meng being taken into the emergency room, her life hanging in the balance, he suddenly realized that at this point, it didn’t matter if she knew or not, it would only add to her sadness.
Gu Chuan didn’t want Jian Meng to be unhappy.
Lin Chenyang felt that the hospital was a place where people’s moods and spirits would deteriorate. He remembered that tomorrow was his sister’s wedding, and on a whim, he asked Jian Meng if she wanted to go.
Hearing about the wedding, Jian Meng thought about Ji Jing’an’s upcoming wedding as well.
It would be good to go out and have a change of scenery.
So she agreed.
Once Lin Chenyang got close to someone, his childish nature couldn’t be hidden.
The next day, he was acting quirky, fixing Jian Meng’s makeup and messing with her hairstyle, while ordering Gu Chuan to go buy her nice clothes.
Gu Chuan listened helplessly to Lin Chenyang’s instructions, ran to the mall, and held a video call to show Lin Chenyang every piece of clothing. Lin Chenyang spent the entire morning picking out a dress that met his requirements.
The wedding was to start at two in the afternoon. Gu Chuan didn’t ask Lin Chenyang where his sister’s wedding was held. He just felt a coincidence that Ji Jing’an’s wedding was also on the same day.
However, Shanghai was so big, there were countless people getting married on the same day. Gu Chuan didn’t think much of it.
Lin Chenyang drove a relatively “low-key” car, at least not so flashy, a black Cayenne.
He didn’t disappoint Gu Chuan’s efforts in the mall all morning. Under his hands, Jian Meng looked much better. The orange short dress he picked also complemented Jian Meng’s complexion. Jian Meng was already beautiful, and this made her look petite and exquisite.
Lin Chenyang drove while saying, “Actually, you look pretty like this, prettier than many of my ex-girlfriends.”
Jian Meng thought Lin Chenyang was just being sarcastic and smiled without responding.
They soon arrived at the venue. The wedding was held at a hotel, with many people, it was crowded. However, Lin Chenyang parked the car directly in the middle of the crowd, got out, threw the keys to the waiter, and went to open the door for Jian Meng.
As Jian Meng was helped out, everyone’s eyes immediately focused on her. Everyone knew Lin Chenyang, the second son of the Lin family, but they didn’t know Jian Meng. However, Lin Shao’s women changed every day, so everyone didn’t pay much attention to Jian Meng.
Lin Chenyang led Jian Meng into the lobby and found a small private room. He didn’t wait for the wedding to start, he started cutting a small cake for Jian Meng.
“You don’t care about your sister’s wedding at all?”
“That I came, that’s the biggest show of importance. Besides, that man doesn’t seem like someone who can stay with my sister for long, so I don’t want to care too much.”
Jian Meng found this brother strange, and this sister strange too.
Seeing her puzzled expression, Lin Chenyang explained, “In families like ours, we may seem wealthy, but in reality, we are all constrained. Especially for major life events, marriage is a must, but the choice of spouse and the duration of marriage are not that important. What matters is maintaining appearances. But I don’t care. Anyway, in our family, my sister takes care of all the important matters. I’ve always been a useless person. This time, her marriage is probably just to appease my father and secure his shares. As for me, in the future, I will marry the girl I love.”
“Is that so? I really hope your wish comes true.”
Lin Chenyang smiled at Jian Meng, pushed the small cake and juice towards her, called the waiter to bring the dishes.
Jian Meng felt that this wedding was truly grand, luxurious, and dazzling. The wedding of the wealthy was so lavish that it made people envious, yet it wasn’t about mutual love. The people in love didn’t even have a wedding.
However, he and Ji Jing’an were no longer in love with each other.
The emcee’s voice sounded, and Jian Meng leaned forward to look.
“Next, please welcome the groom, Ji Jing’an, to the stage.”
Ji Jing’an…
Jian Meng was stunned.
She saw him, Ji Jing’an, the man in a black suit with a slender figure, it was Ji Jing’an.
Even though she had said she was accepting of the situation, seeing this scene, Jian Meng felt like her heart was being torn apart.
So, he wasn’t too busy to have a wedding. His first wedding in life wasn’t really with her.
Just as she had marveled at the grand and stunning wedding, it turned out to be the wedding of the man she had loved for ten years with someone else.
