Chapter 065
On a stormy night, couples often want to be close to each other.
When Lu Jin left He Ye’s house, she felt his reluctance, and she felt it too. She asked if he had changed to a thicker quilt, even messaging him after a half-hour of silence out of anger.
She thought if he hadn’t changed it, she would ask him to come over.
He Ye had always been shy and hadn’t acted so boldly before. But she decided that if Lu Jin came, she was ready for anything.
She liked him and felt mature enough to handle it.
But Lu Jin was being mischievous! She had invited him to the guest room, so why was he still asking about her pajamas?
It felt like he was giving her a choice, but he was actually teasing her, wanting to see her blush.
Even someone timid can become bold sometimes. He Ye closed her eyes and said angrily, “No, go away. I’ll sleep alone.”
She pressed her face against his chest, feeling his warmth. The rejected boyfriend tried again, asking politely, “Then I won’t promise. Do you still want me to stay?”
He Ye: “…”
Before He Ye could say anything else, Lu Jin picked her up and turned off the light in the guest room as they passed through the door.
The living room and study lights were still on, but Lu Jin ignored them and took her into the master bedroom.
He Ye kept her eyes closed when she heard a “click” sound. The surroundings became completely dark as Lu Jin turned off the light in the master bedroom.
The rain continued to hit the glass windows, sometimes lightly and sometimes heavily as the wind changed.
He Ye was placed on the bed by him.
He didn’t even lift the quilt. The cotton quilt and thick mattress supported the weight of both of them.
He Ye had taken off her socks in the guest room. Now her feet felt the cool quilt, giving her a good excuse to avoid his enthusiasm for a while.
“I’m cold.” She held his head and spoke with unsteady breath.
The man, who had acted serious before, showed his true self once they were here. Half of He Ye’s pajamas were now wrinkled.
“Where is it cold?” Lu Jin asked, raising his head from behind her ear, breathing heavier than her.
He Ye replied, “Feet.”
After that, she thought Lu Jin would move away and lift the quilt for her to lie under.
But Lu Jin simply suggested, “Put it on my back.”
This was completely unexpected for He Ye, and she was confused for a few seconds.
Thinking she didn’t understand, he tried to help her.
He Ye didn’t want to do that, so when Lu Jin lifted her legs, she quickly pulled them back.
“Not cold anymore?” Lu Jin asked with a smile.
He Ye hit him on the shoulder.
After she hit him, Lu Jin grabbed her wrists and lifted them above her head. She didn’t want to cooperate. As she tried to break free, Lu Jin leaned down and whispered in her ear, “Do you know how many times I thought about this today?”
He Ye paused, realizing he was going to say something like that again. She quickly responded, “You can’t say that.”
Lu Jin replied, “Then don’t move.”
He Ye really stopped struggling.
Lu Jin held one of her wrists with one hand and began unbuttoning her pajamas with the other, without hesitation.
The darkness surrounded them, with only the sounds of wind and rain in the background.
He Ye’s heart raced as she felt his blurry outline above her.
His room was spacious with little furniture, making it feel especially empty.
In this darkness, He Ye’s voice stood out.
When Lu Jin was 18, he didn’t care about rules. He was eager to do what he liked most whenever his girlfriend agreed, feeling rushed because every second counted with her.
Six years had passed, and they had changed.
He Ye no longer felt restricted, and during those six years, Lu Jin learned how to make her like him through his lonely fantasies at night.
At first, He Ye thought everything was the same as before.
But the long-lost excitement felt like a rising tide, sometimes peaking and then naturally receding. A storm was brewing inside, with waves building up.
She finally realized that Lu Jin had a purpose.
Was this the only way to achieve that?
He Ye didn’t know this was a new experience for her. She wasn’t sure how she would act when that moment came, so she instinctively wanted to avoid it.
But Lu Jin didn’t let her.
He held one of her hands tightly, while her other hand tried in vain to escape his grip.
“Lu Jin!” He Ye called out anxiously.
But she didn’t know how much he loved hearing her say his name.
As He Ye’s breathing slowed, Lu Jin sat up and held her in his arms again.
The lights were still off, and she leaned gently on his shoulder.
Lu Jin kissed the top of her head and touched her face, warm and damp from the rainy season.
“Are you angry?” he asked.
He Ye paused and shook her head.
She wasn’t angry; she felt more embarrassed. She wasn’t sure if it was because he was too good or if it was something about herself, but it truly felt that way.
Lu Jin confirmed: “Are you really not angry?”
He Ye replied softly, “Unless you ask again.”
Lu Jin didn’t ask again. He just held her hand and pulled her closer.
He Ye stiffened.
Lu Jin rubbed her head: “Will it?”
How could He Ye do that?
Lu Jin kissed her shoulder and said in a husky voice, “I’ll teach you.”
On Saturday, the temperature in Ancheng would drop further, with a maximum expected temperature of only seven degrees during noon.
The rain was heavier than the day before, pouring down on the high-rise glass.
The sound of rain didn’t wake He Ye, but her boyfriend’s hand did.
She tried to pretend to still be asleep, but he turned her over and tried to kiss her.
He Ye pushed his head away with one hand and pulled the quilt up tightly around herself.
When her boyfriend stopped bothering her, He Ye heard him reach out to turn on the switch.
Before the lights came on, He Ye covered her head.
Lu Jin rubbed her head and said, “It’s half past nine. Do you want to get up for breakfast, or should we have lunch later?”
He Ye replied, “You go out first.”
Lu Jin left with a smile. As he reached the door, He Ye called him back, asking him to bring her coat from the guest room.
Lu Jin went in and out, then closed the door for her from the outside.
After a minute or two, He Ye pulled down the quilt and took a deep breath.
The man lay still on the pillow, his eyes scanning Lu Jin’s bedroom. Although she hadn’t seen it the night before, she had visited it on a previous trip. It had a cold mix of black, white, and gray. Near the floor-to-ceiling window, a pot of lotus with small round leaves was just beginning to grow.
Her clothes were placed on the bed by Lu Jin, including the white underwear he had picked up last night after throwing it somewhere. It was a simple style with a little lace that made it look girly.
He Ye couldn’t imagine Lu Jin’s expression when he picked it up. But it should be natural; he could even ask her for help without any issue. What’s the big deal about picking up some underwear?
Although she changed right before coming to his place last night, He Ye still wanted to switch to a new one since she was staying for three nights and had brought three complete sets of clothes, including pajamas.
Lu Jin also kindly took her phone and placed it on the bedside table. He Ye sent him a message: [Bring the suitcase over as well.]
There were footsteps outside, and He Ye continued to get into bed. After Lu Jin went out again, she officially prepared to get up.
She was wearing a set of silk pajamas, which Lu Jin had brought for her when she went to take a bath last night. One set was bought at a home furnishings store, and the other was a nightgown.
The silk felt comfortable, but when He Ye sat up, she felt discomfort in her chest. That area is more sensitive than the lips; how could it handle his repeated actions?
He Ye walked to the door with her shoulders slightly hunched, locked it, and then went to the master bathroom to take a shower.
The black metal trash can had a new trash bag and was now clean. He Ye suddenly remembered using many tissues last night—at least ten at a time—and did this twice during the night. Not only was it a waste of paper, but her wrists were now sore.
He could have done it himself, but he insisted on holding her hand tightly. Complaining in her mind, He Ye took a quick shower and put all the clothes to be washed into the laundry basket.
After drying her hair, He Ye walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and opened the curtains. There was a layer of mist on the glass, and the river nearby looked foggy. Usually, there were many tourists on the riverside, but now only a few people held umbrellas and watched the rain.
He Ye hugged her shoulders. Even though it was cold, they still seemed interested in enjoying the rain.
She called her father and grandmother. No matter the weather, the fruit shop must do business. Her grandmother was happily playing mahjong with a group of friends.
“It’s cold, wear more clothes and be careful not to catch a cold,” her grandmother instructed, accompanied by the sound of playing cards in the background.
He Ye hung up the phone, smiling.
I’m hungry.
She put away her phone and opened the door to the master bedroom.
Lu Jin was leaning against the wall opposite her. When He Ye looked up, their eyes met. Though he was dressed neatly, her mind suddenly pictured him in a very inappropriate way, and her face turned red.
Maybe when he saw her, he thought of her not wearing pajamas, even though the lights weren’t on last night.
He Ye took a step back and was about to close the door.
Lu Jin immediately stepped over, pushed the door open with one hand, and put his arm around her waist with the other, pushing her against the wall.
His breathing became disordered, and He Ye lowered her eyes, not looking at him.
Lu Jin sniffed her hair, which smelled like his shampoo, and asked, “Why did it take so long?”
He Ye replied, “How fast can a shower be? What about you, leaning here all the time?”
Lu Jin said, “Yeah.”
He Ye asked, “You’re so free; don’t you have anything else to do?”
Lu Jin smiled and said, “Breakfast has been prepared and kept warm in the pot. Besides that, I can’t think of anything else except thinking about you.”
He Ye’s ears felt like they were burning.
Lu Jin leaned over and tried to kiss her.
He Ye said, “…I’m hungry.”
Lu Jin replied, “Okay, let’s go eat first.”
He took her hand and walked to the dining room. He Ye sat down and watched him go to the kitchen to get breakfast.
Lu Jin only took one set of tableware.
He Ye asked, “Have you eaten yet?”
Lu Jin handed her the chopsticks and said, “I’m hungrier than you. I might not be able to bear it if I don’t eat first.”
He Ye was confused. Why did his eyes and words seem to mean something else?
Not wanting to think about it, she just focused on eating.
