I’m Not Familiar With Him!
I’m Not Familiar With Him! Chapter 67

Chapter 067

No matter how sweet the words were, He Ye couldn’t help but cry when the moment truly arrived.

But it was just a short, quiet cry, barely sounding like one.

He Ye isn’t the type to act spoiled or share her troubles.

Although her father loved her, his hard work influenced her not to make him worry. So even when kids teased her for not having a mother or mocked her father’s disability, she would hide in the bathroom and wipe her tears, returning home as the cheerful girl who went to school and back every day.

Zhu Qing once mentioned that He Ye was too considerate of others.

He Ye didn’t completely agree.

He Ye thought about the people she cared about, like her father, Zhu Qing, and Lu Jin.

Right now, her hands were tightly clasped around his neck. She didn’t say anything or wipe her tears, trying to act like everything was okay.

But Lu Jin didn’t move.

He Ye could hear his controlled breathing. It sounded more like someone hurt than a wild animal that had caught its prey.

Feeling confused helped distract her from the pain. She blinked away the tears blurring her vision so she could see Lu Jin’s face clearly.

Even in the dark, she could make out his raised eyebrows and high nose.

Lu Jin leaned down and kissed the corner of her eye, which was wet and a bit salty.

He Ye felt embarrassed. Actually, she felt better now, except for what had just happened.

Just when she expected him to comfort her, Lu Jin said, “Just like I thought.”

He Ye: “…”

Lu Jin leaned on the bed and wiped the tears from her eyes with his thumbs. “I guessed you would cry.”

He Ye bit her lip. She didn’t want him to comfort her because comfort felt empty. But why did she say that?

“He Ye.”

“Don’t talk nonsense,” she said cautiously, wanting him to stop.

There was nothing inappropriate about Lu Jin’s words.

How could it be anything but serious? This was a dream he had chased for many years.

What he had only imagined in dark nights and dreamed about repeatedly was finally coming true.

“He Ye.”

“I want to hear you cry.”

These words ignited a fire in He Ye’s mind.

“You can’t say that!” She angrily pulled his short hair.

Lu Jin: “Why can’t I?”

He Ye tilted her head: “…It’s okay now, why should I cry?”

Lu Jin: “Are you sure?”

He Ye was very sure.

Before she nodded, his hand suddenly slapped her shoulder hard, and she burst into tears again.

Lu Jin kissed her tightly pressed lips, and when she cried, he continued to kiss her until she opened them.

After repeating this several times, she finally gave up. Maybe she couldn’t control herself anymore. She wrapped her thin arms around his neck and started to cry softly.

It felt a bit unfair, but not completely.

Lu Jin watched her closely, listening carefully.

Everything was fine, as long as it was her.

But He Ye still ran away.

At 10:25 am on Sunday, Lu Jin went to the master bathroom to take a shower.

Maybe he felt he had taken everything out of his girlfriend, so he closed the door as usual.

He Ye didn’t have much strength, but she was scared of her boyfriend, who seemed to have endless energy.

She quickly put on her clothes, not even bothering to pack her suitcase. While listening to the sound of water in the bathroom, she quietly went to the public bathroom outside, grabbed a comb, combed her hair, quietly changed her shoes at the entrance, and hurried away with only her phone and an umbrella.

When the elevator began to go down, He Ye sighed in relief.

There was no one else around, so she turned to look in the elevator mirror.

In the mirror, He Ye had shoulder-length hair combed neatly, rosy cheeks, but dark blue eyes.

In fact, since Lu Jin had taken her to the bathroom to wash up last night, she hadn’t washed her face.

It was the first time He Ye went out without washing her face.

But she didn’t care anymore. She just wanted to go home and sleep peacefully.

About three minutes after leaving Building 10, her cell phone rang.

He Ye gritted her teeth and answered while walking.

She didn’t say anything, and Lu Jin was strangely quiet for a moment. He Ye could hear the rain and her own unsteady breathing from walking fast, but no sounds from the other end.

Then Lu Jin finally spoke: “He Ye, you didn’t cry, did you?”

His voice was low, hesitant, and careful.

He Ye’s heart skipped a beat as she realized why he hadn’t spoken earlier—he was worried.

She looked around to make sure no one was nearby, then gritted her teeth and said, “Why are you sad? Isn’t it enough to sad so many times?”

She heard a distinct laugh on the phone. After laughing, he asked, “Where are you? I’ll pick you up. I promise you’ll sleep well tonight.”

He Ye: “No, I don’t trust you anymore. And you’re not allowed to come after me, or I’ll really be angry.”

Lu Jin: “If you don’t want to come back, I’ll drive you home. It’s cold outside; don’t catch a cold.”

He remembered she had been sweating and had a flushed face earlier.

When that image popped up, he felt something was wrong with his body.

Lu Jin looked down and had to admit his girlfriend was very wise.

But he was worried that He Ye would get sick from going from hot to cold so quickly.

He Ye: “It’s already cold. It doesn’t matter if you come down now; I’ll be at our community soon.”

Lu Jin: “Don’t be so foolish next time. You can lock me in the study. You have the key; let me in whenever you want.”

He Ye: “As for the decoration over there, it’s nice during the day, but I don’t want to stay there alone at night.”

Lu Jin: “Then I’ll hire a design company to redecorate? But until it’s ready, I might have to stay at your place for a while.”

He Ye: “That’s wishful thinking. It won’t work.”

The main thing is that the decoration is quite nice. He Ye is just timid. Plus, it’s only been two or three years since it was installed, so it would be a waste of money to redecorate when it’s in good condition.

Lu Jin: “Are you hungry? Breakfast is ready, and I’ve also made chicken soup. I’ll bring it over to you.”

He Ye hesitated.

Lu Jin: “It’s just like delivering takeout. I’ll leave it at your door and go.”

He Ye: “Really?”

Lu Jin: “Really, I just hope you can give me a good review.”

He Ye thought his words were inappropriate and hung up the phone.

She focused on walking.

Even though the two communities were close, Lu Jin’s building was at the northernmost part of Wangchao Mansion, while He Ye’s was in the southern part of Dangui Jiayuan.

Both communities were large. After hanging up with Lu Jin, He Ye walked for another seven or eight minutes before finally entering her building.

Waving her umbrella on the stairs, He Ye went into her apartment and took the elevator.

As she rode up, He Ye couldn’t help but recall everything that had happened since noon yesterday. She couldn’t remember if Lu Jin had come six or seven times.

During the day it was fine, but at night, she lost track of time. It always seemed like Lu Jin arrived shortly after she fell asleep.

The cake was indeed delicious, but even the best cake gets tiring after eating it so many times.

It wasn’t that she was tired of it; her body just needed a break, and her mind and spirit were exhausted.

While she daydreamed, she arrived at the ninth floor.

He Ye yawned, turned around in the elevator hall, and suddenly froze.

She saw her boyfriend standing at her door in disbelief.

He was holding a thermos in one hand and had the other in his pocket. His dark eyes looked at her intensely.

The last time they met was on his big bed, where he insisted on keeping the lights on and never took his eyes off her.

He Ye blushed, stuttered, and lowered her head: “You, why are you so fast?”

Lu Jin looked at her, his voice cold as usual: “Fast?”

He Ye: “…”

Certain conversations about speed popped into her mind, making her want to find a place to hide.

Feeling awkward, she walked to the door and unlocked it.

Hearing his footsteps, she reflexively said: “You are not allowed to come in!”

Lu Jin, who had already stopped and raised his hand to give her the thermos, replied: “…No.”

He Ye: “…”

He must have done that on purpose!

She angrily took the thermos and slammed the door shut.

After closing it, He Ye covered half her face in annoyance; it was even hotter than after running.

Physical fatigue, a hungry stomach, and her exhausted spirit made her feel weak after the embarrassment. She put her umbrella in the bathroom to dry, then sat down at the table and opened the thermos.

Inside was a delicious breakfast and a large serving of chicken soup.

The soup was just the right temperature, and He Ye took several big gulps.

Her phone lit up.

Team Leader: [I’m still outside. Give me the thermos after you finish eating. I’ll take it home and wash it.]

He Ye glanced at the entrance and replied, “Hmm.”

The breakfast was large, but He Ye was very hungry, so she finished it all, even the wolfberries.

After eating, she felt her strength returning.

He Ye put the dishes back in the thermos, closed the lid, walked to the entrance, and opened the door.

Her boyfriend, wearing a black coat, was leaning against the wall nearby. He Ye thought he would be on his phone, but he had both hands in his pockets.

She asked curiously, “Are you just standing there like this?”

Lu Jin straightened up and pointed to his head: “I’ve thought a lot.”

He had a cold, pure demeanor, which made He Ye think of work: “What are you thinking about?”

Lu Jin looked into her eyes.

He Ye: “…”

She put the thermos on the ground, stepped back, and slammed the door shut.

Lu Jin smiled and left with the thermos.

He Ye took a quick bath and took several deep breaths.

After drying her hair thoroughly, she planned to catch up on sleep but glanced at her phone first.

Team Leader: [Are you full? If not, please send another portion.]

He must have sent that after discovering she finished everything.

A few minutes later, he sent another message: [Call me when you wake up; I’ll bring you food.]

Finally, while she was drying her hair, he sent:

【He Ye,】

【I love you a lot.】

Some people are shy about expressing love, while others misuse the word.

Lu Jin is neither of these.

Whether at eighteen or when starting a family, he always tells He Ye he loves her, and he means it every time.
