I’m Not Familiar With Him!
I’m Not Familiar With Him! Chapter 72

Chapter 072

On Sunday morning, Lu Jin had to attend a two-hour meeting due to an urgent issue at work and didn’t return until noon.

When He Ye was cutting vegetables in the kitchen, Lu Jin rolled up his sleeves and said, “Didn’t you say I would do that?”

She ignored him and kept chopping.

She was fortunate that her menstrual cramps weren’t too bad, but Lu Jin had been very considerate, even turning on warm water for her when she wanted to wash her face with cold water.

“Let me help,” he said after washing his hands.

He Ye didn’t move.

Lu Jin wrapped his arms around He Ye’s waist from behind.

He Ye quickly put down the kitchen knife, pushed his arm away, and slipped away.

She sat at the dining table, watching her boyfriend cook while asking about the company meeting.

They were chatting when a phone rang in the bedroom.

He Ye rushed to answer the phone.

Lu Jin heard He Ye scream with joy, a lively side of her that he rarely saw.

After more than 20 minutes on the call, He Ye came over, excited, and said, “It’s my college roommate! She’s getting married on May 1st and invited us to be her bridesmaids.”

Lu Jin asked, “In Shanghai?”

He Ye replied, “No, she’s from Chengdu and returned there to work after graduation.”

Lu Jin said, “I haven’t been to Chengdu yet.”

He Ye responded, “Neither have I. This is perfect! I’ll be her bridesmaid first. After the wedding, I can shop in Chengdu. I heard there are many fun things to do there.”

Lu Jin looked at her knowingly: “I thought you were going back to your hometown for vacation again.”

He Ye glared at him. If she really wanted to hide, going back to her hometown wouldn’t help; he would find her.

He Ye originally planned a trip for the May Day holiday, but her roommate’s wedding decided the destination for her, saving her time.

After lunch, Lu Jin cleaned the kitchen while He Ye leaned on the sofa, chatting in the university roommate group.

Bride-to-be Meng Qiao wrote: [If you have family members, please bring them! The more, the better!]

Wang Ran replied: [I’m still single!]

Guo Leyan added: [I’m single too! I’m either working or working overtime every day. I don’t have time to date, and there are no good-looking single male colleagues around.]

Wang Ran joked: [Is your grading standard too high? Yuan Fei from the class next door is so handsome, but he only got 8.5 points from you. @He Ye, by the way.]

He Ye responded: [?]

Wang Ran reminded: [Yuan Fei pursued you for a year, have you forgotten?]

He Ye glanced at her boyfriend, who was nearby, and moved to the other side of the sofa to avoid him seeing her chat.

He Ye typed: [That was years ago, don’t bring it up.]

Meng Qiao interjected: [Ahem, I noticed when you two announced you were still single, Xiao Ye didn’t line up!]

The three women interrogated He Ye together.

She looked at Lu Jin again and replied: [I’m not single anymore. I’ll take him with me on May Day.]

Guo Leyan requested: [Photos, I want to see photos! She must be prettier than Yuan Fei!]

He Ye replied: [Forget it. You’ll see him in person. He looks better in real life than in photos.]

Meng Qiao teased: [Wow, little leaf[1]refers to He Ye. has turned into a thick leaf!]

Then they all teased her, and He Ye finally put her phone down.

As soon as she did, Lu Jin started asking: “Who is Yuan Fei?”

He Ye felt guilty: “Did you see that?”

Lu Jin shrugged: “It’s not intentional; I have good eyesight.”

He Ye explained: “…We are from the class next door.”

Lu Jin asked: “He chased you for a whole year?”

He Ye clarified: “…Just during freshman year. Then he got a girlfriend and switched a few times.”

Lu Jin questioned: “You know all this?”

He Ye replied: “…I have a roommate who is very well-informed. She tells us everything.”

Lu Jin asked: “How did he pursue you? Did he bring you breakfast and milk tea?”

He Ye realized he was a bit jealous, so she showed him the compliments she had sent in the roommate group.

When Lu Jin saw them, he stayed calm and just held her on his lap.

He Ye felt like he was unnecessarily jealous: “He pursued me, but I didn’t agree.”

Lu Jin stated: “At least during that year, he saw you almost every day.”

He Ye argued: “…The boys in our class saw me more often than him. Are you jealous?”

Lu Jin joked: “Okay, give me the list. I’ll pick on one every day.”

He Ye laughed, but then she tried to remember and found she could only recall some male classmates’ faces without their names.

Time is powerful; it can help her forget some classmates from her four years of school.

But time isn’t always so strong, like the summer vacation when she and Lu Jin briefly dated. She knew she’d remember that time clearly, including every place he kissed her.

Feeling a sudden urge, He Ye looked at Lu Jin and kissed him lightly on the lips.

Don’t be jealous. To her, only “Classmate Lu Jin” is special.

Except for Zhou Xiangming, who is just a friend, all other male classmates from kindergarten to graduate school were just classmates.

He Ye didn’t say this, but Lu Jin felt it from the gentle kiss.

He hugged her tightly and pushed her onto the sofa.

After missing each other for six years, a light kiss wasn’t enough.

On the evening of April 29th, after dinner, He Ye started packing her suitcase.

She and Lu Jin bought tickets to fly to Chengdu at 8 o’clock the next night. They need to take a taxi to the airport right after work, so she had to pack tonight.

For five days and five nights, He Ye decided to bring two outfits and three skirts.

The suitcase belonged to Lu Jin, and his clothes were already packed in it when he brought it over.

He Ye stood by the closet, watching her boyfriend help open the suitcase. She noticed him sitting at the bed and said, “Go wait outside.”

Lu Jin looked at her, clearly understanding her hint.

He Ye insisted: “…You’re not allowed to look at my closet.”

Lu Jin smiled and stepped outside.

He Ye locked the door from the inside, opened the wardrobe, and took out the underwear she planned to bring with her first.

She couldn’t slowly pack these small clothes with her boyfriend watching. There were too many clothes, so He Ye had to rearrange Lu Jin’s clothes. While doing this, she found a small box he had prepared. The packaging said there were six items in the box.

For a five-night stay, six items seemed fine. Considering Lu Jin’s usual behavior, she thought it was pretty restrained of him to only bring one box this time.

After making sure she hadn’t forgotten any clothes, He Ye closed the suitcase, shut the wardrobe, and opened the door.

Lu Jin was leaning against the wall nearby.

He Ye instructed him skillfully, “Carry the box to the entrance.”

Lu Jin looked inside and asked, “Is everything packed?”

He Ye nodded.

Lu Jin then said, “Didn’t you take my things out?”

He Ye understood what he meant and glared at him. If he was prepared to only bring one box, she wasn’t going to limit his options.

Lu Jin went to grab the box.

He Ye locked herself in the master bathroom to take a shower.

She could only hide for a moment, as Lu Jin pushed her against the wardrobe when she came out.

“You’re doing this on purpose!” She was so angry that she hit him.

Lu Jin whispered in her ear, “Will you show it to me next time?”

He Ye was speechless.

Their plane landed in Chengdu at eleven o’clock. The hotel they were staying at tonight was chosen by the bride-to-be, Meng Qiao, and it was also where the wedding would be held the next day.

To be in the best condition for the wedding, Meng Qiao went to bed early but sent her husband, Mr. Luo, to pick them up from the airport.

All three bridesmaids arrived that night. Wang Ran was the first and had already met Mr. Luo.

Recognizing He Ye, she waved excitedly.

He Ye led Lu Jin over, and Wang Ran then noticed Lu Jin. She confirmed that this handsome guy was indeed her roommate’s boyfriend. Wang Ran froze and said, “No way, where did you find this amazing man?”

Mr. Luo joked, “He’s very handsome. If Meng Qiao had known in advance that your boyfriend was so good-looking, she would have come to pick him up tonight.”

He Ye tried to ignore the compliments and introduced everyone.

Lu Jin shook hands with Mr. Luo and smiled at Wang Ran.

Wang Ran leaned close to He Ye and said, “I used to wonder why Guo Leyan was so obsessed with love, but now I understand.”

He Ye smiled and asked, “Has she not arrived yet?”

Wang Ran replied, “She should be here soon.”

The four of them chatted for over ten minutes until Guo Leyan arrived, carrying a small suitcase.

Wang Ran waved, and He Ye smiled at her roommate, whom she hadn’t seen in a long time.

Guo Leyan stopped and stared at Lu Jin in disbelief.

Wang Ran said, “I wonder if Lu Jin can get a perfect score from her.”

He Ye glanced at her boyfriend and thought it should be okay.

Guo Leyan responded with a very envious and jealous hug, continually asking about the relationship between He Ye and Lu Jin as they left the airport.

He Ye didn’t want to explain too much since the focus of the next two days would be Meng Qiao and Mr. Luo.

“We met after work. We are in the same group.”

Lu Jin quietly followed He Ye’s lead and let the three bridesmaids sit in the back while he sat in the front passenger seat.

It was already past midnight when they arrived at the hotel.

Mr. Luo took out three sets of bridesmaid dresses from the trunk, all custom-made by Meng Qiao according to their sizes, with their names on the packaging.

He Ye took her own set, a beautiful white gauze dress[2]is a lightweight dress made from a thin, translucent fabric.

Since it was too late, Guo Leyan and Wang Ran checked into the next room and agreed to catch up with He Ye the next morning.

The bridesmaid dresses had all been washed. When Guo Leyan tried hers on, she suddenly frowned and said to Wang Ran, “I think I’ve seen Xiao Ye’s boyfriend somewhere.”

Wang Ran replied, “In a dream? He graduated from Tsinghua University and later returned to Ancheng to work. You’ve been in Shanghai for the past few years. How could you have met him?”

Guo Leyan said, “That’s true, but he just looks familiar.”

In the adjoining room, after taking a shower, He Ye also tried on the bridesmaid dress.

All three dresses were similar, with minor differences in the necklines. He Ye’s was a V-neck that didn’t show cleavage.

The zipper was at the back, but it got stuck, and she couldn’t move it up or down.

Worried about ruining her skirt, she asked Lu Jin, who was in the bathroom, to come out and help.

When Lu Jin opened the door, he found that his girlfriend had turned off the lights outside.

He saw her standing by the curtain with her back to him, wearing a light, snow-white gauze dress that exposed part of her shoulders and back.

“Need help?”

Lu Jin walked behind her and quickly figured out the problem.

He Ye nodded shyly.

Using the light from the bathroom, Lu Jin helped her pull the dress up.

During the entire process, his hands didn’t touch her back; only his breath brushed against it, which made her more nervous than if he had touched her directly.

He Ye hid in the bathroom to check how it looked.

Lu Jin sat beside the bed and glanced at the watch on the bedside table. It was almost one in the morning.

He kissed her hair gently after she changed back into her pajamas and lay down. “Did your roommate rent the bridesmaid dress or you buy it?”

He Ye replied, “I bought it. Her family is very rich. She said she would reimburse us for our round-trip tickets, but I didn’t use it.”

Lu Jin said, “Well, the dress is nice; you can wear it when you get back.”

He Ye thought, “…” Although her boyfriend didn’t say it, she knew what he was implying!
