Chapter 21: Don’t Use Your Dirty Fingers on Me

Hu Zhaodi made a “time-out” gesture. “Stop. It’s not like I wanted to leave any food for you before. It’s just that, back when I was at your house, I didn’t even have the right to eat. Now, I’m no longer living with you, and I’m not your sister. If you want meat, asking me is useless.”

“But you’re still my sister.”

“Shut up!” Hu Dashan couldn’t hold back and shouted angrily, “I told you, she’s not your sister. From now on, don’t call her that.”

Hu Yaozu pouted, looking as if he was about to cry.

Hu Zhaodi sneered, “Hu Yaozu, didn’t you hear that? Your own father said I’m not your sister.

Honestly, I really admire your Hu family’s shamelessness.

You’ve already acknowledged cutting ties with me in your hearts, but to get some food and cloth, you shamelessly refuse to admit it out loud.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Don’t you Hu family people ever feel like putting a pig bladder on your heads when you go out?”

Yang scowled, “What do you mean by that?”

“Exactly what it sounds like. How can you even step out of the house without a pig bladder covering your head? Aren’t you afraid the villagers will laugh their teeth off?”

Hearing this, Yang’s face turned as dark as could be.

“We bought you. You’ve lived in our house for eleven years—shouldn’t you be honoring us?”

“Pah! How many times have you repeated that? I’m sick of hearing it. You abused me for eleven years, and you want me to honor you? You think you deserve it?”

At that moment, Zhang came running over with three wooden sticks, handing them out to Hu Dashan and Yang.

With the sticks in hand, the three felt confident, and all at once they raised them, charging at Hu Zhaodi.

Hu Zhaodi sneered coldly. In her hand, the bamboo strip gleamed like a cold blade. Using her family’s sword technique, she wielded the bamboo like a sword.

Hu Dashan noticed the shift in Hu Zhaodi’s aura, but he didn’t think much of it. After all, they were three adults with sticks; surely, they wouldn’t be overpowered by a little girl, right?

But reality often doesn’t match one’s imagination.

Hu Zhaodi’s small body moved with incredible agility, darting left and right, leaving the three of them dizzy. The bamboo strip in her hand seemed almost alive, striking them easily.

Meanwhile, the sticks in the three’s hands couldn’t even graze the hem of her clothes. Instead, in the chaos of her swift dodging, they ended up hitting each other.

Realizing that even with sticks, they couldn’t land a blow on Hu Zhaodi, the three exchanged looks and began to retreat.

Yang turned her head, glaring furiously at Hu Zhaodi. “You ungrateful wretch! How dare you hurt my grandson! I’ll fight you to death!”

With that, Yang grabbed a wooden stick and charged at Hu Zhaodi, undeterred.

Hu Zhaodi narrowed her eyes. Just as Yang’s stick was about to hit her, she sidestepped slightly and lifted her foot, kicking Yang squarely in the stomach, sending her rolling backward twice.

“Ah!”

A blood-curdling scream erupted from Yang, clutching her stomach, unable to even get up.

Hu Dashan’s eyes were filled with rage as he grabbed his stick and charged at Hu Zhaodi in fury.

Hu Zhaodi gave him a cold, mocking smile and used the same move on him.

This kick was even harder than the one she gave Yang. Hu Dashan tumbled back three times before collapsing on the ground, curled up like a shrimp, his face as pale as paper.

Though Hu Zhaodi held back her strength, avoiding a lethal blow, Yang and her family were likely to be bedridden for days.

Over the years, Zhang had become timid and subservient under Yang’s control, though she still managed to act superior around Hu Zhaodi.

But now, the Hu Zhaodi she used to bully was no longer someone she dared to provoke.

Seeing her husband, mother-in-law, and son all injured, Zhang could only shed tears, too afraid to say a word.

Hu Zhaodi cast a cold glance her way, and Zhang clutched Hu Yaozu tightly, trembling. She muttered, “Don’t come near me! Don’t hit me!”

“Hu Zhang,” Hu Zhaodi took two steps closer, her gaze as sharp as a blade. “This is my last warning—don’t mess with the Ji family again, or prepare to bury Hu Yaozu.”

Zhang shrank back, terrified. “I understand. I won’t bother the Ji family anymore. I’ll take a different path to avoid them. Please, spare Yaozu. He’s only eight.”

“If you know he’s only eight, then teach him how to act right. If I hear him cursing at me again, I’ll cut out his tongue.”

Hu Yaozu, hearing this, buried himself deeper into Zhang’s arms, genuinely terrified.

Hu Zhaodi then turned, squatted down in front of Yang, and lifted her chin with her index finger. “Old hag, how does it feel to get beaten up?

I endured eleven years of beatings from all of you. Do you know how I survived all that?

Today is just a small down payment. We’ll settle our scores little by little; that’s where the real fun is.”

Yang’s lips trembled as she asked, “W-What do you want?”

A chilling smile appeared on Hu Zhaodi’s face. “I want to make the Hu family’s life a living hell.”

Yang was filled with terror, her eyes wide with fear.

Ever since that day when Hu Zhaodi first fought back, she’d changed—becoming strong and domineering, no longer the weak girl they could easily push around.

And now, her strength was terrifying. In the past, Yang could take a few hits from her.

But today, she was in agony to her very bones.

Especially the kick to her stomach—it nearly cost her half her life.

Of course, Hu Zhaodi had held back, avoiding any fatal injuries. At Yang’s age, a bit more force would have sent her straight to the underworld.

Trembling, Yang raised her right hand and pointed her index finger at Hu Zhaodi. “You, you…”

Before she could finish the word “vicious,” Hu Zhaodi snapped her pointing finger.

“Ah!” Another ear-piercing scream echoed.

Hu Zhaodi smirked coldly. “Don’t point your filthy finger at me.”
