“In the ’80s: The Frail Beauty Was Carried Off by a Wolfish Soldier” Chapter 2

Chapter 2: Catching the Scumbag Male Lead Cheating

Su Nianzhi’s eyes lit up. Today was really a good day.

“Maomao, here’s what you’re going to do later…” she said.

At this time of day, everyone was out in the fields transplanting rice seedlings. How boring would it be if she were the only one to discover the scandal?

Of course she needed an audience—things were always more exciting with a crowd.

Zhang Wenliang was the only scholarly person in the village, the pride of Yushui Village. Everyone pinned their hopes on him getting into university.

Besides, Zhang Wenliang was good at putting on a virtuous act. If she just accused him out of the blue, people might think she was simply unwilling to let go of such a promising marriage.

If she used her spiritual powers to force the truth out of him, others might suspect he was possessed by something evil.

So, the best way was to let people see it with their own eyes.

Su Nianzhi and the little guy split up to act separately.

At this moment, she felt like she was flying on the wind.

Her two days of bedrest had not gone to waste.

Soon, she arrived at a large patch of reeds on the edge of the village.

To be fair, no one usually came here.

After observing for a moment, she pinpointed where exactly the scumbag man and cheap woman were hiding among the reeds.

She tried to make as little noise as possible as she slipped through the reeds.

From the moaning and gasping, it was clear what was happening. She might not have had a man in either of her two lives, but thanks to her best friend, she’d seen enough Japanese romance films to know exactly what was going on.

“Wenliang, when are you coming to my house to propose?”

“Mmm, Jiajia, I’ll go propose next month, don’t worry. I’ve already broken off the engagement with that sickly Su Nianzhi. Who else would I marry but you?”

“Wenliang~ You know my dad’s making me go on a blind date with that Qin Xiaoyun. I don’t want to marry him.”

“Jiajia, you’re already my woman. I’ll have my mom go propose tomorrow. Come on, open up a little more.”

A flurry of clumsy rustling.

Su Nianzhi’s mouth twitched.

She felt her breathing quicken slightly, then suddenly leapt out—

“Caught in the act! Caught in the act!”

The two half-naked people were completely shocked.

Zhang Wenliang instinctively tried to get up and cover Su Nianzhi’s mouth.

Su Nianzhi grinned widely.

Heh—not happening.

She immediately used her spiritual energy to suppress Zhang Wenliang. He suddenly looked entranced, and to everyone’s shock, started going at it again with Lu Jiajia.

Lu Jiajia panicked, desperately trying to push him away.

“Wenliang, get up! Get off!”

Su Nianzhi screamed, “Jiajia, is he forcing you? Zhang Wenliang, you bastard!”

As she yelled, she pulled a burlap sack from behind her back.

And stuffed it over Zhang Wenliang’s head.

“Don’t worry, Jiajia! I’ll get revenge for you!”

Then she took out a thick club she had brought with her and started beating him while shouting, “Zhang Wenliang is molesting women! He’s a pervert!”

Lu Jiajia fumbled to put her clothes on, and was just about to stop Su Nianzhi when—

She saw a huge group of villagers heading straight toward them.

Her vision went black. Two words echoed in her mind:

It’s over!

Su Nianzhi had a faintly wicked smile in her eyes. Just as the crowd was about to arrive, she released her control over Zhang Wenliang.

He angrily yanked the sack off his head and, furious, shoved Su Nianzhi. “Su Nianzhi, are you insane?!”

Su Nianzhi faked a stumble and fell to the ground.

Tears streamed down her face. She clutched her chest, gasping for air like someone completely overwhelmed.

“Zhang Wenliang…”

“You damned bastard! You dared to push my girl!”

Wang Guifang came rushing over with a hatchet in hand.

Zhang Wenliang jumped in fright and instinctively hid behind Lu Jiajia.

Lu Jiajia frowned and reached out to stop Wang Guifang.

Su Nianzhi now looked thoroughly crushed. Her pale face turned ashen, and her wide eyes were filled with disbelief.

Tears welled up. Her fingers trembled. “Jiajia… you wanted this, didn’t you?”

She didn’t give her a chance to explain.

“I thought you were forced… But if you were, why would you protect him?”

“I’m just a fool…”

The villagers who’d rushed over were stunned by the scene before them. Several women covered their eyes.

A few bold ones snuck a peek—and were surprised.

Huh, is this what a scholar looks like? So… short?

Tsk, tsk.

But most people started cursing.

“Oh my god! I didn’t think Zhang Wenliang was this kind of man. I bet he planned the breakup with the Su girl all along!”

“Pah! And he calls himself a scholar? Disgusting!”

“Shameless! Doing this kind of thing in the reeds—totally disgracing our Yushui Village!”

“They’ve clearly been fooling around for a while. Look, Lu Jiajia doesn’t even have any red marks on her!”

Zhang Wenliang’s face turned bright red, bordering on purple.

He opened his mouth to argue, but no sound came out. His eyes were practically shooting flames.

The village chief arrived, face dark as thunder. Without a word, he slapped Lu Jiajia across the face.

“You shameless girl!”

Lu Jiajia was instantly engulfed in shame.

Zhang Wenliang tried to shield her, but Sun Daniu grabbed him roughly.

“Clearly your daughter seduced my son! Everyone knows our Wenliang is a college student. Your daughter probably threw herself at him! What kind of decent girl goes off into the reeds with a man?!”

“Yeah, yeah! Zhang Wenliang is the best marriage prospect in Yushui Village. He wouldn’t do this lightly!”

The chief’s face grew even darker.

Then Lu Jiajia’s mother waddled over, her hands on her hips, face jiggling with every step.

“Oh please, Sun Daniu! Are you saying my daughter pulled your son’s pants down? Or knocked him out and dragged him here?”

“You’re just mad because your slutty daughter couldn’t keep her legs closed! And now you want to blame us?” Sun Daniu lunged forward and the two women started brawling.

Even their clothes got torn.

Su Nianzhi watched the chaos unfold in front of her, wishing she had a chair, some peanuts, and melon seeds.

Absolutely thrilling!

“Enough!” the village chief shouted, face livid. He looked at his son, who was hiding in the crowd. “Aren’t you going to stop them?!”

Zhang’s two sons blushed and rushed in to separate the fight. “Ma, stop! How’s little sis supposed to face people after this?!”

Lu Jiajia’s mother wasn’t backing down. “Pah! If Zhang Wenliang doesn’t marry Jiajia, I’ll skin him alive!”

“You old witch! That slut of a daughter should be drowned in a pig cage. You think you’re marrying into the Sun family? Keep dreaming!”

Lu Jiajia wobbled at those words.

Soft and delicate, she wept with lowered eyes. “Brother Liang ~”

Zhang Wenliang saw her looking so wronged and his heart softened. Marrying her was still better than marrying sickly Su Nianzhi.

He immediately said, “Mom, I’ll marry Jiajia.”

Sun Daniu’s slanted eyes studied Lu Jiajia like she was a piece of merchandise.

“Son, you sure she’s still a virgin?”

Lu Jiajia’s face turned beet red.

“What do you think? She’s a proper girl. She might even be pregnant already!”

Everyone around them was stunned by this shameless exchange.

Absolutely no shame.

These two really were the perfect match—like rotten iron and spoiled copper.

Just as the brawling parties seemed to be flipping the narrative—

Su Nianzhi began to sob quietly.

“So you two were sneaking around this whole time? I… I…”

She gasped for breath as if suffocating. “Mom, if I die, make sure you go to the police. These two were cheating—and Zhang Wenliang tried to murder me!”
