Special plants.
Su Xiao, who was somewhat uninformed, had never seen them before.
She had heard the Turtle Hermit mention that they came from a green treasure chest, but there seemed to be very little mention of green treasure chests in the world.
The way the other party spoke suggested that they indeed had a special green plant in their possession.
After thinking for a moment, Su Xiao responded, “I only have 2 pieces of plastic right now, as there are too few people willing to exchange black treasure chests with me. You can either wait until I open your treasure chest to see how much plastic I get, or you can use other materials as compensation.”
The other person hesitated for a moment and then said, “Iron blocks will work too. You can exchange 4 iron blocks and 2 plastics with me first. If I get plastic after opening the chest, I’ll exchange it with iron blocks and plastic.”
Su Xiao received 4 black treasure chests and opened them all at once.
Iron blocks x4, plastic x2, wooden planks x2.
She had enough materials for the weapon synthesis table!
She replied to the other party: “I only have 2 plastics.”
The other party sounded a bit disappointed but accepted it and exchanged 2 iron blocks in return, while also asking Su Xiao if she had any purple treasure chests to open.
Su Xiao happened to have one, but she responded, “I don’t need the small plant greenhouse right now. You can exchange other blueprints with me. After you open your treasure chest, you can give me one of them.”
Although there was a possibility that the other party wouldn’t give her the exact blueprint they obtained from the chest, this way, Su Xiao would still end up with two blueprints. Given the early-stage resource shortage and the fact that treasure chests were essentially mystery boxes, Su Xiao didn’t believe she had the luck to win something useful and valuable immediately. So, having two blueprints was certainly better than one. As for whether the other party was being honest, that would depend on their character.
The other person replied: “Okay.”
Soon, they exchanged the blueprint for the “Electric Propeller Thruster.”
Looking at the blueprint, Su Xiao immediately realized it was exactly what she needed. Her small fishing boat required an electric propeller thruster!
But her safehouse was still being upgraded, and the details of the upgrade hadn’t come through yet. She didn’t know what it would look like after the upgrade.
The other party quickly sent over another blueprint: “You’re really lucky. You got the blueprint for the stamina material. As we agreed, I’ll give you the other blueprint in exchange for this one.”
Su Xiao took a look.
【Titanium Battery Blueprint】
It was clear from the earlier message that this was the stamina material blueprint.
Su Xiao immediately checked the propeller thruster blueprint.
The description on the blueprint explained that it needed a battery to function.
So, the stamina material was the most important! Without a battery, it was useless!
Given how crucial this blueprint was, the fact that the other party was only using a single-use blueprint for exchange meant Su Xiao was at a disadvantage.
So, she bargained: “The stamina material blueprint is quite valuable. A single-use blueprint for a propeller thruster isn’t balanced, but if you really need it, I will prioritize exchanging with you. Can you add something else?”
The other party was honest about the value of the stamina materials: “Alright, I’ll give you the small greenhouse.”
They had mentioned before that the small greenhouse could grow special plants.
Su Xiao didn’t hesitate any longer: “Okay, I’ll take the small greenhouse.”
There was no need to worry too much, as the extra stamina blueprint was also a reward the other party had gotten from opening their treasure chest.
After the exchange, Su Xiao used the battery blueprint and temporarily set aside the blueprints for the small greenhouse and propeller thruster.
The “Titanium Battery” required 15 plastics, 1 circuit board, and 4 iron blocks to craft.
It didn’t consume dedicated space, but the circuit board sounded like a rare material.
Forget it.
Su Xiao directly said, “Xiao Mo, craft the weapon synthesis table.”
Xiao Mo replied, “The weapon synthesis table is a fixed facility for the safehouse and cannot be traded. Crafting will consume 4 iron blocks, 8 wooden planks, and 1 point of the safehouse space limit. Do you want to craft it now?”
“Yes.”
As soon as Su Xiao gave the order, the cellar creaked slightly as the previously cramped space seemed to change. The alleyway became narrower.
Xiao Mo: “The weapon synthesis table has been completed.”
Right next to the cellar control lever, a Level 1 weapon synthesis table appeared. It resembled a metal drawer that could be pulled out or pushed in. When opened, a prompt appeared: 【Three identical items can be combined in the weapon synthesis table to create a higher-level item.】
Su Xiao immediately placed the three weapons she had into it and could select which weapon type to upgrade: axe, hammer, or hoe.
Of course, she chose the axe.
The weapon synthesis table automatically closed. When it was opened again, the three weapons had been combined into a Level 2 fire axe.
【Level 2 Fire Axe】
【Description: After upgrading, it can deal with strange creatures of Level 2 or below, but it also becomes heavier due to the fusion of three weapons.】
When she grasped the axe, her hand sank.
Indeed, the original axe was about 1 kilogram, but now this one weighed 3 kilograms.
At this rate, if she were to combine weapons into a Level 3 weapon, would it weigh 10 kilograms? Who could even lift it?
Su Xiao took a quick glance but quickly dismissed the thought.
To upgrade to a Level 3 weapon, the weapon synthesis table needed to be upgraded to Level 2, and it also required a weapon table upgrade blueprint.
Su Xiao didn’t dwell on it. It was around 10 PM, and she wanted to try and solve those four “people.”
She moved the control lever and shifted the cellar’s exit to behind the four creatures, then opened the cellar door to take a look.
There was still a rustling sound on the ground. Su Xiao turned around and indeed spotted the four “people.”
They were still standing nearby, aimlessly searching, with a distance of about seven or eight meters between them.
Su Xiao no longer hesitated. She maneuvered the cellar, moved it below one of them, and opened the cellar door, perfectly positioning herself behind one of the creatures.
With a heavy swing, she struck its head with the axe, but it didn’t shatter the skull!
Its eyeball was halfway out, glaring at Su Xiao with a ferocious expression as it roared and lunged at her.
The other three turned around upon hearing the noise and saw their target.
Su Xiao swiftly pulled out the axe and struck at the neck of one of the creatures again.
With the second swing, the zombie’s head fell off and instantly transformed into a black treasure chest.
Level 2 weapons indeed attacked faster.
After collecting the treasure chest, Su Xiao quickly retreated back into the cellar and closed the entrance. The other three creatures missed their target.
Using the cellar to move the exit and employing clever tactics, Su Xiao had perfectly eliminated the four zombies in ten minutes, with no increase in infection.
Using her brain was much less costly than using brute force.
Four black treasure chests fell to the ground, and Su Xiao immediately picked them up.
A notification sounded in her ears—
【Brave survivor, you have successfully completed the limited-time challenge set by the Apocalypse’s Lord for survivors. As a reward, you receive a color treasure chest. The color treasure chest allows you to select the attributes you desire.】Bottom of Form
