After a while, the herbs were all processed.

Chu Ning was just about to begin refining pills when suddenly, there was a loud banging on the door.

“Open the door!”

“You filthy b****, hurry up and open the door!”

“…” There were several voices shouting insults from outside.

Chu Ning’s face darkened as a thought crossed her mind.

She was about to do something when Qin Zheng stopped her.

“Don’t worry, wife, I’ll handle them.”

Chu Ning paused, then remembered that Qin Zheng was a double S-tier beastman.

“I’m going with you,” she said, walking toward the door.

Some punks had come to her door, and they knew her name. This must be related to Chu Yan.

Qin Zheng hesitated for a moment and then agreed with a quiet “mm.”

They reached the door, and Qin Zheng suddenly opened it, causing the person who had been banging to fall into the room.

However, Qin Zheng didn’t let the person fall to the ground. Instead, he lifted his foot and kicked them straight back out.

“Damn it, get him!” one of the scarred men shouted.

Four beastmen immediately pounced on Qin Zheng.

Qin Zheng remained calm, his movements ruthless.

In just a few moves, all four of the muscular beastmen had their arms broken and were kicked out of the door, crying and screaming in pain as they piled on top of each other.

The scarred man, standing to the side, was so frightened that he backed away, wanting to run, but the fallen beastmen blocked his path, so there was no escape.

Under Qin Zheng’s gaze, which seemed like it could kill, the scarred man trembled in fear and suddenly knelt in front of him.

“Big—Big brother, please spare us! We—We were just following orders. We didn’t know—didn’t know that Chu Ning had you backing her up.”

“I apologize! I’ll pay for the damages! Please calm down and let us go this time, okay?” The scarred man was drenched in cold sweat, his expression worse than crying.

The pressure from the other side was so strong that it felt like his bones were about to crumble.

Chu Lan, that filthy woman, actually sent him to provoke someone like this. She deserved to die!

Qin Zheng’s expression darkened, and he was about to act when Chu Ning grabbed his hand.

He froze for a moment, his murderous aura disappearing as he locked eyes with her.

Chu Ning noticed something was wrong and gave him a reassuring glance.

“Can I handle this from here?” she asked.

“Mm,” Qin Zheng responded.

Chu Ning breathed a small sigh of relief and then activated her light brain, directing it at the scarred man still kneeling on the floor.

“Who sent you to cause trouble for me?” she asked.

“Chu—It was Chu Lan! That wretched woman gave me the orders.”

“She bought this house and sent me to chase you out!”

Chu Ning frowned.

So it really was related to Chu Yan.

She hadn’t expected that after just two days away from the Chu family, Chu Yan had already found her.

“Rent, plus the penalty for breaking the contract, and the emotional damages for the trouble you caused today—give me 50,000 star coins,” Chu Ning said quickly, pulling up her payment code.

Since the house had already been bought by Chu Lan, she could just move out.

She realized she had been too hasty before. Though the rent in the city area was cheap, there were security risks.

Thankfully, now she had money and could afford a better place.

The scarred man and Qin Zheng were both stunned by Chu Ning’s attitude.

“What? Do you think it’s too much?” Chu Ning’s tone grew sharp.

“No—no! I’ll pay right now!” the scarred man quickly responded.

It wasn’t that he thought it was too much, but that he hadn’t expected things to be resolved so quickly.

50,000 star coins was a lot, but he could ask Chu Lan for the money later, so he wouldn’t actually have to pay.

Thinking this, the scarred man hurriedly pulled up his light brain and transferred 50,000 star coins to Chu Ning.

When Chu Ning saw the payment come through, a faint smile appeared on her lips.

“Wait here,” she said, tossing a box to the hunched scarred man, before pulling Qin Zheng inside.

Qin Zheng was still a bit confused. He hadn’t expected Chu Ning to let off the troublemakers so easily.

“Pack up, let’s move to a new place,” Chu Ning said. With another person in the house, she’d been worried about not having a place to stay for the night, but now that she was returning the house, it was just right to find a bigger one.

“Mm,” Qin Zheng answered.

Since his wife said they were moving, they were moving. This place was indeed a little small.

There weren’t many personal belongings in the house, and with both of them having spatial storage devices, they quickly packed everything up.

Leaving the house, Chu Ning threw a box to the scarred man still standing outside.

“The keys to this house are inside. Please pass them to Chu Lan,” she instructed.

“Yes, yes! I’ll hand them over right away. Miss Chu, have a safe journey,” the scarred man said, bowing and smiling.

Chu Ning smiled back and left with Qin Zheng.

At the street corner, facing the dimly lit road, Chu Ning was uncertain.

“It’s too late. Should we just find a hotel for the night?” she asked.

She turned to ask Qin Zheng for his opinion, only to see him take a floating car out of his spatial ring.

Her partner had a car?

Qin Zheng noticed the surprise in Chu Ning’s eyes. “Get in,” he said, opening the passenger side door.

After a brief moment of hesitation, Chu Ning got into the car.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Chu Ning observed the interior of the car, thinking to herself that Qin Zheng was probably wealthier than she had originally thought.

Qin Zheng entered the driver’s seat, fastened his seatbelt, and started the car.

“The security in the city area isn’t that great. Come stay at my place,” he said. He had been thinking about how to bring his wife to the Marshal’s residence, but the opportunity had arrived sooner than expected.

Chu Ning glanced at Qin Zheng.

“Is that… inconvenient?” she asked. They had just gotten married, and now she was going to live at her beastman’s home. Wouldn’t his parents have something to say about it?

“How about we stop at the supermarket up ahead? I’ll buy something,” he suggested. It wouldn’t be appropriate to show up empty-handed.

Qin Zheng chuckled.

Seeing Chu Ning glance at herself and then suppress a laugh, he teased, “No need. I’m the only one at home.”

Chu Ning was a little surprised.

“My parents have been gone for many years. The only ones in the house now are me, the butler, and a few servants.”

“I used to be on the front lines, so I was rarely home. This time, I’ve stayed a little longer.”

“That place is my home, and now it’s your home too.”

Chu Ning felt a sudden warmth in her heart.

“Mm,” she responded softly.

The floating car was fast, and in less than half an hour, they arrived at their destination.

When they arrived, Chu Ning realized that Qin Zheng had driven directly into the yard.

The Qin family estate was large, and the house seemed even bigger than the Chu family’s villa.

“Young master,” a middle-aged beastman in uniform greeted them.

“Uncle Zhong, this is my wife,” Qin Zheng introduced.

Uncle Zhong was taken aback.

“Nice to meet you, madam!” He immediately bowed excitedly.

“Madam, this is our family’s butler, Uncle Zhong. He’s the one who raised me. If you ever need anything, you can always tell Uncle Zhong.”

“Madam, feel free to order me around. I handle all the household affairs,” Uncle Zhong immediately added.

Finally, the young master had gotten married! And he found such a beautiful wife!

His parents, up in heaven, could rest easy now.

“Mm,” Chu Ning replied, feeling a bit uncomfortable with all the attention.

“Let’s go. I’ll show you to the room,” Qin Zheng said, taking her hand.

Chu Ning glanced at his hand but didn’t pull away.

As they entered the living room, Chu Ning realized that the Qin family’s mansion was even more luxurious than she had imagined.

Some of the decorations inside made her realize that Qin Zheng’s status was not ordinary.
