Chapter 29: Behave Yourself

In the afternoon, she got used to the work process.  Although the more difficult tasks were slow, she was able to complete them smoothly.

Cen Wan felt that she had unlocked another skill.  If Lu Beixun ever went bankrupt, she would go work and earn money to support him.  Thinking about it, she wasn’t completely useless.

She could cook and had a job.  Suddenly, she felt a little proud.

After work, Cen Wan said goodbye to Chang Ning and walked out of the building.  She casually took a picture of the sunset sky and posted it on her Moments.

She captioned it, “Unlocked the skill of earning money to support my family.”

She was too focused on her phone and didn’t notice the person behind her.  Lu Beixun’s lips curved slightly.  He lowered his head and looked at her Moments.  He gave her a like.

Lu Beixun put away his phone and looked at the figure not far away, “Wan Wan.”

Cen Wan received the like Lu Beixun gave her.  She was so happy.  Then, she heard his voice behind her.

Hearing his voice, Cen Wan turned her head.  Lu Beixun walked towards her.  His gaze was gentle.

She frowned slightly and took a step back.  Usually, she would run towards him, throw herself into his arms, and hug him tightly, refusing to let go.  But she couldn’t do that now.  This was the company.  If someone saw them, either her identity would be exposed, or she would be mistaken for someone who was trying to break up someone else’s family.

Cen Wan kept taking steps back, “Don’t come over.”

Lu Beixun’s face instantly turned as black as coal.

Cen Wan stopped retreating.  She looked at him with pleading eyes, “CEO Lu, please.”

Lu Beixun stopped two meters away from her.  His face was gloomy, as if a storm was brewing.

Cen Wan clasped her hands together, “I’ll wait for you at the intersection ahead.”

She said this without waiting for his agreement or disagreement.  She ran off, not giving him time to react.

The intersection ahead was about 200 meters away.  Cen Wan walked there.  It took about two or three minutes.  When she arrived, Lu Beixun’s car was already parked on the side of the road waiting for her.  She didn’t get in the car directly.  Instead, she looked around to see if there were any familiar figures.  When she was sure there weren’t, she opened the passenger door and got in.

After getting in the passenger seat, Cen Wan looked at Lu Beixun with a face full of apology, “I’m sorry, Husband.  Please forgive me.”

Her “Husband” made Lu Beixun’s face relax a lot.  He reached out and pinched her cheeks.  He leaned over and kissed her hard before letting go.  He lowered his head and pulled over the seatbelt to fasten it for her, “I forgive you.”

Her white fingers lightly touched his lips where he had just kissed her.  She suddenly smiled, “CEO Lu, you’re kissing me more and more often.  Admit it, you love me.”

She arrogantly raised her chin and raised an eyebrow at him.

If she hadn’t reminded him, Lu Beixun wouldn’t have noticed that he couldn’t help but want to kiss her when he saw her.

Lu Beixun looked straight ahead and started the car.  He said casually, “嗯, I love you.”

He had already decided not to retreat anymore, so it didn’t matter if he expressed his love.

“I love you too.”

Cen Wan thought of the salary issue.  She still didn’t know how much her monthly salary was.  Although she didn’t care about the money, she still wanted to ask.  She wanted to know how much she could earn per month.  Would it be enough to buy a bag?

She asked, “CEO Lu, how much is my monthly salary?”

“Around 20,000.”

That was a little low.  With her usual spending habits, 20,000 wouldn’t be enough to buy a bag.  She thought, with this salary, if Lu Beixun ever went bankrupt, she wouldn’t be able to support him.  “How much is my cousin’s monthly salary?”

Lu Beixun gave her a questioning look, “Your cousin?”

Cen Wan slapped her forehead.  She had been at the company for a day, and everyone she met asked if she was related to He Yi.  He Yi didn’t need to pay attention to ordinary employees.

She explained that He Yi was her cousin.  She had been saying it all day and had forgotten to change her words, “I mean, He Yi.”

“How come I don’t know you have a cousin named He Yi?”

“He just appeared out of nowhere today.”  Cen Wan was helpless, “He Yi personally took me around.  Other people asked me if I was using connections.”

“I can’t tell them that the CEO you’re talking about is my husband.  I can only say that He Yi is my cousin.”

She looked at Lu Beixun, “You know, I don’t want to be treated differently, and I don’t want to be bullied.”

Lu Beixun pondered for a moment and lightly “嗯”ed.  He didn’t have any emotion.  Cen Wan continued with her previous topic, “How much is He Yi’s monthly salary?”

“Employee salaries are confidential.”  Lu Beixun said.

He Yi was by his side.  His salary must be high, and his benefits must be better than ordinary employees.  Otherwise, why would He Yi be so loyal to this low-pressure boss?  He must be under a lot of mental pressure.

“Why don’t you fire He Yi and let me take his place?”  Cen Wan smiled.

Lu Beixun: “…”

She thought that Lu Beixun would definitely say no.  But he actually said, “Okay.”

The car had just reached the red light intersection.  When they stopped to wait for the green light, Lu Beixun unlocked his phone.  He was about to call He Yi, but Cen Wan hurriedly stopped him, “Don’t.  I was just joking.”

Lu Beixun turned off his phone, “嗯, I was joking too.”

Cen Wan: “…”

She clenched her fist and punched him lightly on the shoulder.  She looked at him with resentment, “Lu Beixun, you’re getting bad.”

“I learned it from you.”  Lu Beixun chuckled.  His eyes were full of affection.

Cen Wan arrogantly “哼”ed and looked out the window.

Outside the car window, there was a sea of cars.  It was rush hour.  This kind of life wasn’t bad.  She had a job from 9 to 5.  It was much more fulfilling than being idle all day.

After washing up in the evening, she remembered the gossip Chang Ning had told her.  She sat up from the bed and straddled Lu Beixun’s abdomen, “Confess and be lenient.  Resist and be strict.  Tell me honestly, what did that sales department manager do to you?”

“Did that scheming woman touch you?”

Lu Beixun’s eyes narrowed dangerously, “Where did you hear that?”

Cen Wan put her hand over her mouth and zipped it, “I can’t say.  I can’t betray my sister.”

She urged him, “Tell me quickly.”

Lu Beixun slowly said, “No.”

Cen Wan breathed a sigh of relief.  It was good that her husband hadn’t been touched by that scheming woman.  Otherwise, even if she was fired, she would find her and teach her a lesson.

Cen Wan, who was straddling him, wasn’t behaving herself.  With her talking and occasional movements, there was a slight grinding.  Cen Wan was unaware of her actions.

Lu Beixun’s eyes were filled with desire.  He restrained himself.  The little woman on him was completely unaware of his change.  She was carelessly setting him on fire.

He clasped her slender waist.  Then, he flipped over and pressed the little woman who was teasing him onto the bed.

Cen Wan sank into the soft blanket.  His moist kisses fell densely on her neck.  She was stunned for a moment.  She thought that Lu Beixun had changed his mind and was willing to touch her.  She reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Lu Beixun lightly bit her earlobe, “Behave yourself.”

He said this and then let go of her.  He turned and went into the bathroom.  Cen Wan’s mood plummeted.  She thought she was finally going to get some meat, but it was all a false hope.

She let go of her dignity.  For the first time, she wanted a man so much.  But the result was unsatisfactory.

She looked at the ceiling with a feeling of hopelessness and sighed deeply.

Lu Beixun wasn’t doing any better.  The meat was delivered to his mouth, but he wanted to eat it but didn’t dare.  He could only endure.
