It’s Hard To Pretend To Be A Straight Guy
It’s Hard To Pretend To Be A Straight Guy Chapter 6 (End)

“No way! Dude! Is this still the high and mighty man I used to know?”

I kicked hard with my foot, but He Yu directly grabbed my ankle.

I was shocked to realize that he was no longer the thin, weak boy who couldn’t fight.

“Enough with the struggle, it’s my turn now.”

He Yu coldly and ruthlessly delivered his final notice.

Damn it, where is the system?!

However, I couldn’t summon the system that had disappeared from my mind. Instead, I was tormented all night long.

I slid from the middle of the bed to the headboard, only to be dragged back by my ankles.

Sinking and rising in the whirlpool of desire.

Before I passed out from exhaustion, I cursed the system through trembling lips: “What a broken program… ugh… it’s malfunctioning…”

I was woken up by the sharp, kettle-like electronic voice of the system.

[Host! What have you done?!]

[You slept with the male protagonist!]

He Yu’s arm was still draped over me, his back exposed to the air, covered with many messy scratches.

Annoyed by the noise, I lifted the blanket. My body was covered in red marks, far more shocking than He Yu’s.

[Are you blind?]

[I’m the one who got slept with, why are you crying?!]

[And what about your automatic trigger shock system, deliberately targeting me, huh?]

[I didn’t even touch your precious male lead, but you still kept shocking me on and off!]

I had been hit twice last night. If it weren’t for that system running out of power, I might have ended up in the hospital, embarrassed!

I said darkly to the system: [You’ve been gone for so long, you’d better have been fixing bugs. What’s up with the storyline? It’s collapsed worse than your grandpa’s teeth!]

The system exclaimed: [Oh right, host, I forgot to mention.]

[The affection score dropping before was due to a malfunction. According to the analysis of veteran danmei (boys’ love) system experts, the unrequited love caused the affection score to fully convert into blackening points.]

[So I asked the senior system for advice, and there’s only one way to fool the main system.]

I froze: [What?]

The system chuckled: [Since I’m such a smart and capable system, I secretly replaced the female lead of this world with you, host.]

I was speechless: [Then why were you just shouting so loudly?!]

The system mumbled awkwardly: [Well… uh… it’s a habit! A professional habit from all these years!]

I realized something was off: [Wait, I’m a man. How did you bind me as the female lead?!]

The system muttered: [Well… the main system is rather conservative, so as long as you remain as the “uke” (the passive partner in a same-sex relationship), it probably won’t notice…]

[Goodbye forever!]

With that, the mechanical voice in my head completely disappeared.

I had a thousand curses to shout, but in the end, I could only punch the bed in frustration.

This punch startled He Yu awake.

He wrapped his palm around my fist, rubbed his head against my shoulder like he used to when we were young, and pleaded with me:

“Ah Jin, if you hate me, feel free to hit me. I won’t fight back.”

I didn’t want to talk to him, so I turned away. But the pain made me grimace.

Last night, I finally saw through it: this man was no gentleman, but rather a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Warm, scorching tears suddenly dripped onto my neck.

I froze.

He Yu’s voice, slightly choked, came softly:

“I’m sorry, Ah Jin. I lost control last night.

“I clearly told you the meaning of baby’s breath flowers, yet you still wanted to give the flowers you grew yourself to someone else. I got so angry…

“I thought… you really didn’t want me anymore.”

Instinctively, I retorted: “And what about you? Chatting and laughing with Shi Qing, not even letting me glance at you.”

He Yu chuckled quietly: “So, were you jealous?”

He turned me around, forcing me to face the man lying beside me.

He pressed his forehead against mine, his eyes still wet, his voice slightly evasive:

“I asked Shi Qing about the milk tea you bought her, and it turns out… she’s allergic to osmanthus. She couldn’t drink it at all.

“So I thought, maybe you didn’t actually like her that much.”

His tone turned a little smug, but then uncertainly asked me:

“Are you still mad now?”

I snorted coldly and asked back: “What do you think?”

He Yu hugged me tightly, his warm breath gently tickling my ear:

“If you’re mad, I’ll keep coaxing you until you’re not mad anymore.

“After all, you’ll never be able to get rid of me in this lifetime.

“You’ve been by my side from when we were five to twenty-five. So it’s only right that I spend the rest of my life repaying that.”

“You just need to stay where you are and let me love you, Jiang Jin.”

I hugged him back and sighed:

“Yeah, I love you too.”

Just as he had been with me for twenty years, I had been with him.

I was born into this world through reincarnation.

Before coming into this book, I was an abandoned orphan. Even after entering this world, I was the same.

I was flirtatious, loving many people, but I had only ever truly loved the man beside me.

He was the boy who dug me out of an avalanche with his bare hands.

In the biting winter cold, abandoned and forgotten again, only He Yu was willing to cross through the treacherous snow to carry me across that desolate wilderness.

I once tried to prove my worth by loving many people, but only He Yu made me realize:

“Jiang Jin, if you hesitate in fear and only take one tentative step, then I will take the remaining 99 steps to reach you.”

Epilogue

After confirming our relationship, I found that He Yu was really good at pretending.

In public, he was all dressed up, proper and refined.

In bed, he said the dirtiest things.

He also liked to play around.

But what can I do?

Fine, I’ll make do with it.

As if I could leave him anyway.
