After a tons of consultations, Bai Linglong and Xiaocui returned to Qingyan Mountain.
Upon reaching the foot of the mountain, they discovered a man lying in the grass, gravely injured and unconscious. His clothes were tattered, and his body was covered in blood, breathing weakly.
With a flick of her mind, Bai Linglong transported the man into her secret space. Once back at the mountain, she moved the man out of the space and set him down in her cabin.
Next, she took a detoxification pill from a delicate wooden box, a concoction she had meticulously crafted from rare herbs in her space, following an ancient formula.
Bai Linglong pried open the man’s mouth and placed the detoxification pill inside, then fed him some Spiritual Spring Water.
Turning to Xiaocui, she instructed, “Xiaocui, quickly bring me the disinfectant and gauze; help me clean his wounds, and be quick.” Xiaocui hurriedly complied, and the two worked seamlessly together, quickly tending to the man’s injuries.
At that moment, the man’s complexion gradually regained some color, and his breathing became steadier.
After a while, the man slowly opened his eyes and weakly said, “Thank you, miss, for saving my life. I thought I would die here.”
Bai Linglong remained calm and asked, “Who are you? I don’t want to attract trouble. If it’s convenient, you can stay and recover; if not, please leave the mountain.”
“I was betrayed in the sect and poisoned, which led me to this state,” the man replied.
Bai Linglong’s eyes flickered with curiosity. “What sect are you from?”
The man, who introduced himself as Heifeng, chuckled bitterly. “It’s called Mingyue Pavilion, a place that takes assassination contracts in the martial world. I never expected to be schemed against by my own people.”
Heifeng paused for a moment and sincerely said, “Miss, you saved me. I have no way to repay this kindness, so I am willing to stay by your side as a guard.”
Bai Linglong raised an eyebrow and asked, “Don’t you regret giving up your position as the leader?”
Heifeng replied firmly, “I absolutely do not regret it! If it weren’t for you, I would have been dead long ago. This life now belongs to you.”
Bai Linglong nodded and said, “Alright, you can stay. Once your injuries heal, I’ll accompany you back to reclaim Mingyue Pavilion and deal with those traitors.”
Heifeng was so excited that he attempted to bow but winced at the pain in his wounds. He gritted his teeth and said, “Yes, my lady!”
Bai Linglong handed him a bottle of Spiritual Spring Water. “Drink this; it will help your wounds heal faster.”
Heifeng accepted the bottle and drank it all at once. Instantly, a refreshing sensation spread throughout his body, significantly reducing the pain in his wounds.
He looked at Bai Linglong in astonishment. “What is this miraculous water?”
Bai Linglong smiled lightly. “This is Spiritual Spring Water, known for its healing and body-strengthening properties. Rest well, and once your injuries have recovered, we will set off.”
Heifeng was filled with gratitude and admiration, silently vowing to follow Bai Linglong faithfully from now on.
He raised his head and drank the Spiritual Spring Water in one gulp. In an instant, a cool and soothing force surged through him, flowing like a hidden current within his body.
The excruciating pain from his wounds felt as though it was being gently caressed by soft hands, quickly alleviating his suffering. Moreover, he could genuinely feel the wounds healing at a speed that was imperceptible to the eye yet tangible to his senses.
Heifeng was utterly astonished. He looked at the now-empty bottle of Spiritual Spring Water in his hand and then raised his gaze to Bai Linglong, his lips trembling as he struggled to find his voice.
Having roamed the martial world for many years, he had seen much, yet he had never encountered such a miraculous thing.
This Spiritual Spring Water was unlike anything ordinary; the mysterious power contained within it far exceeded Heifeng’s comprehension.
“My lady… this… this Spiritual Spring Water is truly incredible!. This life of mine is given by you. From now on, whether in water or fire, whatever you command, I will follow without a question!” Heifeng finally regained his voice, his excitement causing it to quiver.
With that, he struggled to rise, disregarding the pain of his injuries, and solemnly bowed deeply to Bai Linglong, his forehead pressing heavily against the ground, remaining there for a long time without lifting it.
Bai Linglong hurried forward, helping Heifeng up, her face adorned with a gentle smile. “Please get up; there’s no need for such formalities. Since you have decided to stay by my side, we are now family.” Her voice was soft yet imbued with a reassuring strength, as if to say that with her presence, there was no problem that could not be resolved in this world.
