Chapter 49: The Fragrance of Milk Tea

Bai Linglong’s body gradually regained its former vitality, and the babies had reached their one-month mark. Looking at her healthy and adorable children, Bai Linglong was filled with joy.

She walked into the spatial space and soon brought out four brand-new baby strollers.

These strollers were remarkable, made from a special material that was both flexible and sturdy. Their smooth lines flowed like a lively stream in the mountains.

Each stroller had a small, delicate bell attached; with just a gentle push, the bell would chime with a crisp, pleasant sound, exciting the babies, who waved their little hands and babbled joyfully.

Wan Qing, Jing Shu, and the other maids immediately gathered around, their eyes filled with curiosity and affection.

Ling Yue was the first to reach out, gently touching the stroller’s handle, smiling as she said, “Master, you really know how to pick treasures! These strollers look both sturdy and beautiful; the babies will definitely be comfortable in them.”

Min Xiu nodded in agreement, “Exactly! When we take the babies out for a walk, it will surely attract a lot of attention.”

Saying this, the maids carefully placed the babies into the strollers and began to push them around the courtyard.

Jing Shu hummed a lullaby as she walked, her soft voice like a warm spring breeze gently brushing against everyone’s hearts.

Ling Yue bent down, pointing out the flowers and grasses by the path, speaking in a sweet voice to the babies:  “Look, little ones, this is a red flower, and this is green grass!”

One sunny afternoon, as the warm sunlight bathed the courtyard, Bai Linglong entered the spatial space once more.

When she emerged again, thirty cups of milk tea had magically appeared on the table, along with several plates of exquisite cream cakes, freshly baked bread, and aromatic pizzas.

In an instant, the rich aromas of milk, tea, wheat, and baked goods intertwined and wafted throughout the courtyard.

The maids and Hidden Guards were drawn in by the tempting scents, buzzing around like little bees.

Bai Linglong picked up a cup of milk tea and smiled as she introduced it, “This is milk tea, made from fresh milk and carefully brewed tea leaves. The tea fragrance and milk fragrance blend perfectly, creating a smooth texture with a hint of sweetness in the aftertaste.”

Curious, everyone took a cup of milk tea and took a sip, instantly captivated by the unique flavor.

Next, she held up a piece of cream cake, saying, “This is a cream cake; the soft cake base paired with sweet, non-greasy cream brings a sense of happiness with every bite.”

Hui Qiao couldn’t wait to take a bite, her eyes lighting up instantly and said. “It’s so delicious! The texture is soft and fluffy, just like a cloud!”

Bai Linglong then pointed and said “This is called pizza. It has a crispy crust topped with a rich filling of meat, vegetables, and creamy cheese. Once baked, it releases an irresistible aroma.”

Heifeng tore off a piece, the cheese stretching long as he ate, mumbling, “This is so fragrant! I’ve never tasted such a unique bread before!”

Finally, Bai Linglong held up a piece of bread. “This is bread, with a rich wheat aroma and a chewy texture—perfect for breakfast.”

Wan Qing took a gentle bite, nodding in approval. “Indeed, it has a strong wheat flavor that gets better with every chew.”

Heifeng, who was the first to grab a cup of milk tea, carefully lifted the lid and blew gently on the surface before taking a small sip.

In an instant, his eyes widened, and with surprise, he gave a thumbs-up. “Wow, Master, this milk tea is incredible! The moment it touches your lips, it feels so smooth, and the tea and milk flavors complement each other perfectly. In all my years, I’ve never had anything this delicious!”

He finished with a big gulp, his face lighting up with satisfaction.

Wan Qing, entranced by the cream cake, picked up a piece and gently bit into it. Her eyes squinted with delight. “This is so good! The cake is soft and the cream isn’t greasy at all.  It’s like enjoying a big bite of chilled watermelon on a hot summer day—it refreshes the spirit! I feel like I could run several miles!”

Zhao Gang tore off a piece of pizza, the cheese stretching as he chewed, mumbling, “The crust is crispy, and the filling is rich. I dare say no one in town has ever had food this special!”

An Lan elegantly sipped her milk tea and tasted the bread, nodding with a smile. “The milk tea has a rich texture, sweet but not overwhelming, and the bread is soft and chewy. This is truly a rare delicacy! Master, where did you find such treasures?”

Everyone chimed in with compliments, praising the delicious treats one after another.

Bai Linglong looked around at their satisfied expressions, her heart blooming with joy. “If everyone thinks this is delicious, we should open a shop to sell these. The business will surely thrive!”

At that moment, Zhao Gang, who had been quietly enjoying his food, stepped forward and clasped his hands, saying, “Master, if you trust me, I’ll take charge of opening the shop! I may not have many skills, but I’m reliable when it comes to running errands!”

Bai Linglong smiled and nodded. “Alright, thank you for your hard work, Zhao Gang.  First, go find a good location in town. The shop doesn’t need to be too large, but it must be eye-catching. Also, purchase some tables and chairs and quality utensils; we can’t let our shop’s standards drop.”

Zhao Gang puffed out his chest and responded loudly, “You can count on me, Master!  Just watch, I’ll handle this perfectly!”

While everyone was excitedly discussing the shop opening, Heifeng’s expression suddenly turned a bit forlorn. After hesitating for a moment, he approached Bai Linglong, cupping his hands in front of him. “My lady, I have to return to Mingyue Pavilion in a couple of days. Once I leave, I don’t know when I’ll be back. I won’t get to enjoy all this delicious food anymore.” He glanced longingly at the milk tea still in his hand, looking as if he couldn’t bear to part with it.

Bai Linglong couldn’t help but laugh at Heifeng’s cat-like expression. “You only think about food! When Zhao Gang opens a shop over in Mingyue Pavilion, you’ll be able to eat it every day!”

Heifeng’s eyes lit up upon hearing this. Excitedly, he exclaimed, “Really, My lady?  That’s fantastic! I’ll tell my brothers about it when I go back. Once the shop opens, the threshold of Mingyue Pavilion will surely be trampled!”

Everyone burst into laughter at his enthusiasm. In the following days, Zhao Gang operated like a finely-tuned machine, busy from dawn till dusk.

He scoured every street and alley in Taohua Town, looking at one storefront after another. Some places had exorbitant rents that weren’t worth the price, and he shook his head in disapproval. Others, while busy, were too cramped for sustainable operations, and he had to reluctantly pass them over.

After several days of tireless searching, he finally found an exceptional location on a bustling street in the town center. The storefront faced the street and featured a large floor-to-ceiling window, allowing sunlight to pour in without restraint, providing excellent lighting. Moreover, the foot traffic was heavy, making it a prime location for opening a shop.

Zhao Gang was so excited he nearly jumped up, and he immediately leased the storefront, then set off without delay to select tables and chairs. He visited every furniture shop in town, trying out each table and chair, scrutinizing their craftsmanship.

He ignored those that were poorly made and uncomfortable to sit on, and after much searching, he finally chose a set of simple yet elegant tables and chairs that were particularly comfortable. When it came to purchasing tableware, he was even more meticulous, not overlooking any detail from material to craftsmanship.

He picked up plates and cups, inspecting them closely and comparing them repeatedly while muttering to himself, “These materials need to be easy to clean and durable; they can’t break after just a few uses.”

Meanwhile, Bai Linglong was also busy in the spatial space. She immersed herself in researching culinary delights, repeatedly adjusting her milk tea recipe and studying the techniques for making cakes, bread, and pizzas.

She also gathered Xiaocui and the maids around her, patiently teaching them. Bai Linglong meticulously taught them how to prepare these delightful dishes. From boiling the tea at the right temperature to whipping the cream, and managing the baking times and temperatures, she explained each step clearly.

“Now, Xiaocui, look here. When brewing tea, the heat shouldn’t be too high; otherwise, the tea will become bitter.  When whipping cream, you need to stir in one direction to achieve a delicate and fluffy texture,” she demonstrated while speaking.

Xiaocui watched intently, her eyes glued to Bai Linglong’s hands, occasionally asking questions to clarify her understanding. As the days passed, the preparations for the shop continued at a rapid pace.

Everyone was filled with anticipation for the opening day, as if they could already envision the bustling scene of customers coming and going, and the thriving business that awaited them.
