Chapter 101: Lu Yunzheng, Quickly Look at Your Son
Actually, the idea of looking for her biological parents wasn’t something new.
That day in the dormitory, she suddenly had the idea and discussed it with Lu Yunzheng.
But for Lu Yunzheng, whatever she wanted to do, he would support.
If she wanted to find her biological parents, he would help.
If she didn’t want to, he wouldn’t force her.
After all, to him, the most important person was Luo Qianyun, regardless of who her parents were.
She also knew that the Luo family had benefited a lot because of Lu Yunzheng recently.
But as Lu Yunzheng had said, they had raised Luo Qianyun for over ten years, so they deserved the benefits. Otherwise, there would be people secretly criticizing Luo Qianyun.
However, the Lu family wasn’t naive; they could see how the Luo family treated Luo Qianyun.
So, while they took advantage, they also had their limits. Once the benefits were taken, they were gone.
When they got home, Xiao Yunduo immediately ran over with its short little legs.
These days, not only had the nanny been coming to take care of it every day, but Song Yunjing also frequently came to play with it. So, despite Luo Qianyun being away these days, it hadn’t lost weight and even seemed a bit rounder.
Luo Qianyun picked up Xiao Yunduo, weighed it in her arms, and said, “You’ve gained weight, little Yunduo. If you get any fatter, you’ll become a little chubby cloud. By then, your dad might not even recognize you.”
Upon hearing this, Xiao Yunduo protested with a little bark.
“Still don’t believe me? Let’s video call daddy and see if he still recognizes our little Yunduo,” Luo Qianyun said as she carried the little one over to the couch.
She then made a video call to Lu Yunzheng.
“Well, I’m not sure if daddy’s busy right now. If he is, we’ll call him later,” Luo Qianyun said softly, giving Xiao Yunduo a kiss.
After a short wait, the video call was finally answered.
Seeing Lu Yunzheng on the screen, Luo Qianyun couldn’t help but laugh. “Lu Yunzheng, quickly look at your son, he’s almost turning into a ball! Do you think if he gets any fatter, you won’t recognize him?”
She brought Xiao Yunduo closer to the camera, making sure Lu Yunzheng could clearly see the little one’s slightly rounder physique. “Come on, take a good look, daddy.”
After all, the little one wasn’t exactly… skinny.
Lu Yunzheng also looked closely at Xiao Yunduo and said, “Maybe you should add a bit more exercise.”
“Right, let’s work on building our slender arms and long legs, so when he grows up, he can charm all the little girls,” Luo Qianyun added.
However, as much as Luo Qianyun expected those long legs, Lu Yunzheng doubted it, since a bichon frisé, while not as short-legged as a corgi, wasn’t exactly a long-legged breed like a rural dog either.
Just then, an elderly voice came from Lu Yunzheng’s side. “Xiao Lu, you have a child now? I remember watching you grow up, and now, in the blink of an eye, you have a kid!”
The elderly man leaned closer to Lu Yunzheng’s phone, successfully entering the frame.
However, all he could see was Luo Qianyun and a dog. “You must be the girl who just married Xiao Lu, right? I’m Grandpa Qiao.”
Luo Qianyun immediately greeted, “Hello, Grandpa Qiao.”
“Good, good, good! Where’s the kid? Bring him over so I can see…” Grandpa Qiao laughed and then turned to lecture Lu Yunzheng. “Little kids should be chubby and cute, don’t be thinking about weight loss or anything.”
Luo Qianyun, holding Xiao Yunduo, felt a bit awkward. “Grandpa Qiao, what we were talking about just now… this little Yunduo is actually the dog in my arms.”
“Ah, a dog-son!” Grandpa Qiao, understanding that young people nowadays sometimes treat their pets as children, quickly realized the mix-up.
“Old age, getting confused.” Grandpa Qiao laughed at himself for the little mistake.
Since Luo Qianyun had just returned, she was a bit busy. After chatting for a while, she ended the video call.
After all, with the elderly around, she had to be a bit cautious in her conversation with Lu Yunzheng.
Once the call ended, Luo Qianyun kissed Xiao Yunduo again. “Alright, little Yunduo, mommy’s going to pack the luggage now.”
She put Xiao Yunduo down on the floor and hummed a tune as she opened her suitcase, taking out clothes.
Some needed washing, some needed airing, some needed to be hung up…
Soon, the suitcase was almost empty.
When her best friend called, Luo Qianyun had just finished packing and was about to take a bath and relax for a bit.
Regarding the invitation to dinner at her house, Luo Qianyun thought for a moment and then declined. “I don’t feel like moving, big sister. I need to rest properly, so I’ll have energy to go to work tomorrow.”
“Got it, got it. You didn’t rest much last night, right? Well, if you don’t use your man’s strength, what’s the point of having a good body?” Song Yunjing responded with a knowing tone.
“Now that you get it, let me stay home and rest. I don’t want to go anywhere today,” Luo Qianyun replied with a smile.
But there’s always a workaround, and Song Yunjing quickly suggested, “Then we’ll just eat at your place, much easier! We’ll have hotpot.”
Luo Qianyun groaned, “Then I’ll still have to clean up.”
“Cleaning? Leave that to me! My brother’s here!” Song Yunjing said without hesitation.
“If Ning Yu-ge knew you were this filial, he’d probably cry tears of joy,” Luo Qianyun teased.
Song Yunjing laughed, “Don’t say that, I’m just doing what I should. After all, he’s the only brother I have. It’s only right to be good to him.”
Listening to her best friend’s mock seriousness, Luo Qianyun couldn’t help but laugh.
“Alright, I agree!” she said with a smile.
Luo Qianyun took a nap at home and woke up just after three o’clock.
After washing up and brewing some tea, she heard the doorbell ring.
When she opened the door, Luo Qi appeared, “Sister!”
“Brother, why are you here?” Luo Qianyun welcomed him in, noticing the driver behind him carrying quite a bit of stuff.
“Luo Yunduo asked me to come, she said we’re having hotpot together!” Luo Qi said excitedly.
It was a coincidence because Luo Qianyun had been planning to call her brother to come over for hotpot.
Soon, Song Yunjing arrived, with her bodyguards also carrying a lot of things.
“My brother’s coming after work, so we can start preparing,” Song Yunjing said.
And then… the bodyguards and the driver went to the kitchen to wash and chop the vegetables, while Luo Qianyun brewed tea with them.
“By the way, sis, mom and dad asked when you’re coming home for dinner?” Luo Qi finally remembered the repeated requests from their parents before leaving.
“I’ve been busy lately, so I won’t be going back for now,” Luo Qianyun refused again.
Luo Qi couldn’t tell if she was really busy, but it didn’t matter; he unconditionally trusted his sister.
“Then I’ll just eat with my sister instead! It’s the same,” he said simply. After all, it was just eating!
As for the others?
If they wanted to eat with his sister, they could come over too!
In the evening, the sky suddenly darkened and rain started pouring down. The heavy raindrops fell almost instantly without any warning.
“This year’s typhoon came later than usual, but it never misses its appointment,” Song Yunjing said, sipping tea and eating some small lobster.
Indeed, these were freshly made by the bodyguards!
