Chapter 102: Do You Dare Say You Didn’t Fish Me Out?
“Another typhoon formed?” Luo Qianyun had been very busy these days and hadn’t had time to keep up with the typhoon news.
“Yep, the news came two days ago. It looks like it will land tomorrow or the day after,” Song Yunjing ng said.
Hearing that, Luo Qianyun quickly logged in to check the real-time path of the typhoon…
She soon saw that the typhoon had a lot of rainfall and was highly likely to develop into a super strong typhoon with extreme rain, possibly leading to a heavy storm.
The more she looked, the more worried she became…
If the typhoon still looked this way after landing, it would pose a great danger to the public.
While typhoons occurred every year, they were usually within a controllable range, and people had learned from experience. But once the situation exceeded that range, no amount of experience would be enough—humankind is still too small in the face of nature.
Seeing Luo Qianyun’s worried expression, Song Yunjing ng guessed what was going on and immediately grabbed her phone. “Alright, there’s a typhoon every year, so stop worrying too much. Let’s eat and drink while we still can. When the typhoon hits, you’ll be busy then.”
Beside them, Luo Qi also handed Luo Qianyun a peeled crayfish, “Sister, eat some crayfish.”
“Thanks, brother.” Luo Qianyun took the crayfish and ate it.
When Song Ningyu finished work and joined them, the four of them finally started to enjoy the hotpot.
Meanwhile, the bodyguards and the driver also had a break and went out to eat at a restaurant on the company’s expense.
The hotpot was quite fiery, with Luo Qianyun immediately downing several sips of beer after being overwhelmed by the spiciness. “What kind of base is this, so spicy?”
“I went to C City not long ago, and that’s where the most authentic hotpot is. So, I brought some base back with me. I bought it from several old brands, probably around… ten packs? From different shops. Each one is labeled with the address, and for the ones I liked, I bought them online,” Song Yunjing ng explained.
“It tastes good, but it’s a bit too spicy.” Luo Qianyun’s eyes were red from the heat.
But she wasn’t the only one—Luo Qi and Song Ningyu also weren’t faring much better.
Seeing them suffer, Song Yunjing ng couldn’t believe it. “Is it really that bad? I think it’s still bearable…”
She then picked up a piece of hotpot meat and ate it with calm composure.
Watching her eat so calmly, Luo Qianyun almost started doubting her own sense of taste. “Isn’t it spicy for you?”
“It’s not spicy.” Song Yunjing ng shrugged, looking indifferent.
“No way, you don’t seem any better at eating spicy food than I am,” Song Ningyu, skeptical, also picked up a piece of meat, thinking it was the ingredients’ fault.
As soon as he put it in his mouth…
“It’s killing me,” Song Yunjing ng couldn’t hold back and quickly drank a large gulp of beer.
Song Ningyu was no better off, pouring himself another large drink.
“Song Yunjing , you’re something else, trying to murder your own brother,” Song Ningyu’s eyes were red from the spice as he looked at Song Yunjing ng in fury.
“This is like Jiang Taigong fishing,” Song Yunjing ng took another sip, “The willing ones take the bait.”
Song Ningyu angrily retorted, “Come on, don’t tell me you didn’t hook me on purpose?”
“Of course I did.” Song Yunjing , though in the wrong, was still feisty.
“Then who were you trying to hook?” Song Ningyu asked.
“…” Song Yunjing ng was momentarily speechless.
Luo Qi, sitting quietly and eating the mushroom soup base, looked at the oily base with a shiver—one could imagine how the child felt.
Luo Qianyun spoke up to comfort Song Ningyu, “Ningyu, don’t ask. Some things are obvious. Asking too much will only hurt yourself.”
Song Ningyu felt like he’d been struck by an arrow to the knee. “…Maybe you should stop comforting me.”
“That won’t do. We’ll need your help to clean up after the battle,” Luo Qianyun patted his shoulder.
“I feel like I wasn’t comforted at all, but rather, struck by an arrow,” Song Ningyu muttered.
To make things worse, Song Yunjing ng added fuel to the fire, “Don’t worry, I specially bought you a pink little pig apron.”
“Song Yunjing !” Song Ningyu stood up, and without thinking, Song Yunjing ng ran off…
The two chased each other around the table, with Song Yunjing ng finally surrendering, “Alright, I was wrong. If I keep running, my stomach will drop.”
“I’ll forgive you, but you’ll clean up after we’re done,” Song Ningyu scoffed.
Song Yunjing ng immediately let out a pitiful wail but was helpless against her brother…
So, after finishing the hotpot, Song Yunjing ng had to wear the pink little pig apron she bought for her brother and miserably cleaned up the mess.
On the sofa, Song Ningyu was sipping tea brewed by Luo Qianyun. “Actually, there’s nothing to hesitate about. If you want to do it, just go ahead. They’re not wild beasts. If you don’t want to get involved with them, and they keep bothering you, we have ways to handle it.”
Song Ningyu was also supportive of Luo Qianyun finding her biological parents. It wouldn’t be right to live a whole life without knowing the truth.
Of course, finding them didn’t guarantee success. If they really abandoned Luo Qianyun, they wouldn’t have registered her information at the police station. Even if Luo Qianyun’s data was in the system, she might not match with her biological parents.
“Maybe… I still have a bit of hope inside me, hoping I wasn’t abandoned,” Luo Qianyun admitted, which also made her fear the possibility of not matching anyone’s information.
“I think you should just go for it. It’s just a blood test, and at least you’ll know the truth, whether real or fake,” Song Ningyu said.
“If you’re scared, we’ll accompany you tomorrow,” he added.
“We’ll go the day after tomorrow. I have work tomorrow,” Luo Qianyun replied.
“Alright,” Song Ningyu said.
The time quickly passed, and it was the day after tomorrow.
At noon, Luo Qianyun saw Song Yunjing ng and Song Ningyu waiting for her.
“Why are you here?” Luo Qianyun was surprised, as they had agreed to meet at the police station at 1 PM.
“It’s almost lunchtime. Let’s eat first, then head over. It’ll be more convenient,” Song Yunjing ng said as she grabbed Luo Qianyun’s hand and shook it. “How about it, Qian Qian~”
“Fine, since you’re all here, how can I not go? But I’m treating for this meal,” Luo Qianyun said.
Song Yunjing ng pouted. “Why be so formal about it?”
“It’s fine, as long as Qianyun is happy,” Song Ningyu smiled.
As the three of them left, a nurse at the station couldn’t help but envy, “How come there are so many quality men around Dr. Luo? We can’t even find one, but Dr. Luo is surrounded by them.”
The head nurse overheard and said, “You should look at Dr. Luo herself. This is a lesson: only when you’re excellent yourself can you attract quality men.”
However, Luo Qianyun wouldn’t know this. By now, they had already arrived at a nearby Japanese restaurant.
After lunch, they drove to A City’s police station.
Looking at the police station gate ahead, Luo Qianyun suddenly felt a bit nervous…
