Chapter 2: Your Little Body Can’t Handle It
The wild wolf spotted Luo Qianyun and began to close in on her.
The next second, Luo Qianyun zipped up her tent and hid inside.
She remembered reading in a science magazine that wild wolves wouldn’t attack people inside tents.
Wolves were highly cautious animals. Once a person hid inside a tent, the wolf wouldn’t be able to determine if there was danger inside, so it wouldn’t dare to act rashly.
But it was just something she read online, and Luo Qianyun was still trembling with fear for a long time.
Only when she was sure the wolf wasn’t attacking the tent did she relax a little. She turned on the light inside the tent and held the small knife she had just pulled out tightly in her hand.
Time ticked by, minute by minute. At first, she could still hear some sounds outside the tent, but gradually they faded away.
But Luo Qianyun didn’t dare to go out. She stayed in the tent until the next morning.
When she stepped out of the tent, the wild wolf was gone.
Rather than sadness, Luo Qianyun felt more anger. Her boyfriend of three years had abandoned her and run away.
And last night, she had seen with her own eyes that Lu Yan and Pei Xianxian were in a compromising position. Before they encountered the wild wolf, who knows what they were doing?
She packed the few remaining food and water in the tent into her bag and abandoned the tent she couldn’t carry. Her phone had no signal, so she could only walk along the highway with her bag on her back.
On the other side, Lu Yan parked his car by the roadside, his eyes red-rimmed.
“Ayan, it’s not your fault. In a situation like yesterday, it’s just that Qianyun was unlucky.” Pei Xianxian sighed softly.
“Qianyun is so afraid of pain. I should have stopped that wolf and told her to run with you.” Lu Yan choked back a sob.
“But it was a wolf! You have a phobia of wolf dogs because you were bitten by one when you were a child. It wasn’t like you intentionally abandoned her.” Pei Xianxian comforted him softly.
Looking at Pei Xianxian in front of him, Lu Yan hesitated. “Should we go back and look for her?”
“But have you thought about what if something happened to her? It could attract the whole pack. Then not only her, but we wouldn’t be able to survive either.” Pei Xianxian worried.
“You’re right. At least we can bring back the news of her disappearance. We don’t have to be like others, who can only treat her as a missing person. I heard that people who haven’t been confirmed dead can’t rest in peace even after they die.” Lu Yan said.
Hearing this, Pei Xianxian looked at Lu Yan with admiration. “Ayan, you’re so good to Qianyun. You’re even worried that she won’t be able to rest in peace. I’m going to be jealous of her.”
“After all, she’s my girlfriend.” Lu Yan said helplessly.
It’s a good thing Luo Qianyun didn’t know about this pair of crazy fools’ conversation. Otherwise, even if she were dead, she would jump up and give them two scalpel cuts.
Luo Qianyun walked along the highway for more than three hours, the scorching sun above her head making her originally fair skin turn red.
Just then, a truck came from behind.
Without hesitation, Luo Qianyun waved her hand to stop the truck.
However, she was also aware of the chaos in the no-man’s land, so she only spoke after seeing that the two people on the truck had honest faces and didn’t look like bad guys. “Hello, I want to hitch a ride out of the no-man’s land. The fare is negotiable.”
From afar, the driver had only seen a young girl flagging him down.
But now that he took a closer look at Luo Qianyun’s face, he was truly amazed. He had been driving on this road for over ten years, but he had never seen such a stunning beauty.
However, he could also tell that Luo Qianyun didn’t seem like someone who was short of money. She was different from those poor backpackers who used their bodies as payment.
But… so what?
The next second, the driver, Wang Qiang, flashed a simple smile. “Get in. It’s understandable to encounter difficulties when you’re out and about.”
Then he gave his nephew a look. The twenty-something-year-old nephew blushed and opened the door. “Get in.”
“Thank you.” Luo Qianyun smiled gratefully and got in the car, taking advantage of the young man’s outstretched hand.
Along the way, Luo Qianyun deliberately revealed that she was a surgeon, but came from a family of police officers. Her father was a policeman, her mother was a policeman, and her uncles and aunts were all policemen.
Wang Qiang, the driver, was a little apprehensive when he heard this.
But it was only a little apprehension.
At noon, Luo Qianyun politely declined their food and took out the food from her bag to eat.
But in the evening, the car stopped by the roadside. Seeing them setting up a tent, Luo Qianyun realized the problem. “Uncle, can I sleep in the car tonight?”
“No way. The car is full of our cargo. What if you drive off with the car?” Wang Qiang refused without hesitation.
“You can keep the keys. Just leave a crack in the window for me to breathe.” Luo Qianyun said.
At this point, Wang Qiang no longer tried to hide it. “It’s cold at night. Let’s sleep in the same tent and warm each other up.”
“Uncle, you’re just kidding, right? I told you I’ll pay.” Luo Qianyun’s voice turned cold.
“Money isn’t useful in this place. If you want to survive, you have to stay with us. You’re lucky. We used to have four or five people when we were driving. Your little body wouldn’t be able to handle it. Today, it’s just the two of us, uncle and nephew. If you take care of us, it’ll only be an hour or two.” Wang Qiang said, his naked gaze falling on Luo Qianyun.
Luo Qianyun tightened her grip on the knife handle and slowly backed away…
Seeing that Luo Qianyun wanted to run, Wang Qiang didn’t rush at all. “Go ahead and run. There’s nothing else in this place, but there are plenty of those things that eat people. If you leave us, you’ll be eaten by wolves.”
Wang Qiang thought he could scare Luo Qianyun, but he didn’t expect that Luo Qianyun would rather be eaten by wolves.
Seeing Luo Qianyun turn and run, Wang Qiang quickly called his nephew to chase after her.
“Damn it, she’s got a fiery temper. Once we catch her, I’m going to play with her until she’s dead.” Wang Qiang cursed as he ran.
His nephew, however, was still a little reluctant. “Second Uncle, let’s just leave her alone, shall we? She doesn’t want to.”
“You won’t encounter this kind of goods even if you drive for decades. If you meet them and don’t eat them, you’re an idiot.” Wang Qiang said.
But they didn’t expect that Luo Qianyun was really fast.
Just as Luo Qianyun was about to be caught, two wolf figures appeared in the distance.
“Damn it! There’s a pack of wolves here! Go back!” Wang Qiang pulled his nephew and turned to run, because his life was more important than a woman.
Luo Qianyun also saw the two wolves, but it was too late to run. She could only grit her teeth and change direction.
But the wolves’ running speed was not something Luo Qianyun could match. Before she could run far, she was caught by the two wolves.
The leading wolf pounced on Luo Qianyun from behind, and then she felt a tearing pain in her thigh.
“Ah!” Luo Qianyun cried out in pain, but she knew she had to fight back.
So the next second, she grabbed the knife handle and stabbed the wolf that was biting her thigh.
